Bruce Lee - Closest We'll Ever Get to a Superhuman

Because all real fights look like they do in movies:/ If Ali moves faster and KOs' date=' I consider it a fighting style where you hardly have to do anything.

Bruce Lee would be able to anticipate the punch, and would know how to avoid or parry it accordingly. Boxing doesn't teach you that art. You just see people blocking their faces all the time.

That's why people like MMA over boxing.

Not to mention boxing teaches you to only protect the upper part of your body, since anything below the waist is an illegal hit. Its simply not a practical fighting style.

If you knew anything about boxing you'd know that was wrong.

@Omagakitty: That's actually a good point but I still think Ali was just that little bit more EPIC. I'll watch some more of his movies and see if I change my mind.

Just set the record straight, I'm not denying Bruce Lee's awesomeness, I'm pointing out my personal preference.

Bruce Lee was ok but i still like Arnold Swarchenegger over all

I read that and was liek "OMGWTF!?"

Also' date=' the bit about Bruce moving so fast that the films couldn't catch it, that's bull. They sped them up, fact.

[/quote']

No. They actually did have to slow down the film to make his movements discernible. Most martial arts films ARE sped up. His were not.

It appears I'm not welcome' date=' none of you respect Ali in the way you should.

[/quote']

Fact numbah one - Thread is not about Ali.

Fact numbah two - People in this thread probably respect Ali, they're just proving you wrong and know that this thread is about BRUCE LEE.

Fact numbah three - I live in Ali's hometown, watched his a lot of his fights, and find him to be a serious BOSS. Don't say I don't respect Ali the way I should. >.>

Mia, you have to be mah newest bestest friend on teh 4umz.

Bruce Lee was, in fact, a total BOSS.

Lee owned Chuck Norris in Way of the Dragon.

WRONG

He may have won the fight and killed Chuck in the movie, but Chuck had a plan.

He injected nanoNORRIS (Extreme fighting blood cells) into Lee.

nanoNORRIS is known to cause seizures because of all the epicness.

Bruce Lee died from full body seizures and Chuck Norris ultimately one the fight.

All fact

Thats wrong, just wrong you are taught how to dodge blows you gaurd your face so your opponent cannot get a fatal blow on you (although there is another place to get a fatal blow (; ) and it teaches you to build up your strength savor your energy and unleash fast and strong punches while saving as much as your energy as possible.

It only teaches you to protect your upper body. In fact, in a real fight, knowing how to box would probably be a detriment, as you would instinctively only protect your upper side, leaving such things as your kneecaps, spleen, kidneys, and liver open for attack. Which wouldn't be fun.

All martial arts teach essentially the same thing, only they also teach you how to protect the rest of your body and fight dirty.

In fairness, I don't think anybody is going to dispute Brucey would've powned Ali in an actual fight. However, the reason I like Ali more than Bruce Lee is the person himself, the fact he was the top of the food chain at the sport he dedicated him self to AND that as a person he was also extremely epic. Saying that boxing isn't a fighting style is kind of stupid though; it is it's just not (as you say) a very practical one. Originally it was probably a fight with rules to settle a dispute.

Fix'd.

Even if your assumption is true, that would mean that Chuck Norris is a loser, and had to cheat to get his revenge.

Owned. Chuck Norris sucks.

"Chuck Norris sucks" RIGHT THERE! He dont. They even say RedBull is just his piss. He has a Third Fist. But I do agree with "and had to cheat to get his revenge."

So I guess you are right. He can lose.

I wasn't insulted

therefore you never owned sheet.

And Bruce Lee wrote "The Way Of The Dragon" and wrote that he won.

So really, Bruce Lee cheated and Chuck Norris got paid millions.

Bruce Lee is one of the best martial artists in the world he inspired MMA in a way. If you watch the first part of Enter The Dragon then you can see an armbar and submission he used. He also influenced western style kung fu movies. His skill and philosophies are too be cherished.
