Dark
Well' date=' I'm a Christian and I think what the kid did was perfectly fine. The school and other people should respect other's religion.[/quote'] Key word is that you, in fact, are a Christian. Obviously you share equal views with him, and therefore dub him right. I'm not saying he should learn about evolution from an atheist point of view, but it is needed to actually do somewhat good in biology. They are respecting his religion, as they are not shoving it down his throat and killing him if he doesn't believe evolution is correct. He still doesn't know I am an atheist, by the way. He is either an idiot, blind to people who tell him I am an atheist, or I am a much better actor than I thought. In this case it's like being forced to learn about something you believe to be false and someone shouldn't have to go through that. A few years ago (9th grade, IIRC), I did World History. We did a project on Egyptian/Roman Gods. Did I opt out of learning about Gods because I am an atheist? I think he is a moron for not understanding the difference between believing and learning. I don't believe in Buddhism but I don't go around crying that some people won't believe in God. tbh, I would like everyone to know that God is real and believe in him but there are those, Dark, that are too stubborn. And I feel sorry for them. You may think the same of me but that's your opinion. Well, you are one of the slightly rational Christians. I've been called Satan's child for being an atheist. I don't think that atheists are stubborn. We are questioning a view that lacks any sort of proof. We are questioning a view that is illogical and irrational. I see no reason why you call us stubborn. Believing in God is your own choice, but many people who believe in God are too ignorant to even fathom hearing someone elses views. I really lucked out that most of my school is non-Christian, otherwise I'd be hanged by now.
Красивая Ведьма
/\ Ugly sig. Topic: Tradition is never wrong. It is always correct. Tradition is wrong if if denies any factual information, or it is proven that the tradition is destructive. Off topic, if the Ugly sig. thing was directed towards me, then I think you should keep on topic.
Altαir
Religion isn't the reason. It's those stupid humans who believe that learning something against their religion is wrong, and they shouldn't do it. But really, it's his loss. Even in middle school, evolution was a big subject in 7th grade.
Dark
The only reason people question evolution is because 1/3 of the world is following a troll religion whose book says that evolution is fake. Aside from that, it should be mandatory to learn it. I don't believe in God, yet I still had to learn about the religions of other civilizations. His (the 9th grader) logic is fail. Also, I don't think the Bible says evolution is false.
Dark
Don't worry OMGAKITTY, it's totally rational to believe that an invisible man in the sky used his fist of power to create humans, and the fact that our DNA almost exactly matches up with other animal's DNA is merely a sham, and the invisible man made the world like that so we could have some explanation of how we came to be even though he created the world but doesn't want anyone to know. OMGAKITTY
Wow Dark, you've managed to convince me. The only logical explanation is that we all came from absolute nothing in a giant explosion, then slowly morphed from single cell microscopic globs into humans. This is the only logic explanation. Believe into anything else and you're an idiot.
Altαir
>.> I still don't see it. First of all, the explosion came from a bunch of gaseous forms merging and actually changing form, becoming a solid. Now where did these gaseous things come from? This, itself is a big mystery. I'm not saying God created humans, I'm just saying that there had to be something to make something.
Mehmani
God doesn't exist, there is no evidence. But I have NOTHING against Religious People. Some of them have done great things, like Desmond Tutu. Should I be exempt from all RE lessons because I'm an Atheist? No, I don't have that option. But religious people do have that option because everyone is so scared that they'll "be offended" and anger the Church. It's discriminative. It presents a story of creation, but it is not to be taken literally. It is a metaphorical story about the transition from Paleolithic to Neolithic Ages. If you hate religion so much that is fine. I don't care if you are an atheist, and most people don't care either. You don't seem to understand that you are forcing your beliefs on people despite being against religions doing the very same. Not to mention the only thing you seem to talk about is religion! No offense, but you seem obsessed.

Dark
Again, we are looking at this from a physical standpoint, not a mental standpoint. Dark
You guys (including myself) are getting way off topic. Womi
1. It's stupid that he chose Biology, although he can't learn the evolution part. Either he gets kicked off of the Biology Class or he is forced to take the evolution part. 2. No matter if there is a god or not. If everybody would stop believing in him, he would be dead.
