Are destroyed by battle searchers essentially dead in this meta?

when i say destroyed by battle searchers i mean stuff like Mystic Tomato and even theme specific ones that fetch after being destroyed by battle

High tier decks still run battle searchers. They may be wasted sometimes (when I counted, my Tomato's effect only activated 3/5 of the time) but still they are useful.

Jade Knight and Shining Angel are both good seacrhers for Victory Viper XX03 decks that is using Honest. Shining Angel can search for Honest or any of the Gradius monsters.

Giant Rat is meta because it can search the Celtic Guardian.

 

But srsly, Tomato is still seeing use in whatever crap Plant variants fucktards are running nowadays and Mother Grizzly is kinda like a Staple in Daedalus sheet, due to being able to search Codalos. But the rest is kinda dead.

I play a Zombie deck, and the Turtle is one of the basic pillars of the deck, capable of bringing out 2400 attackers. Maybe Zombies aren't meta anymore, but they are still good.

 

So no, I don't think Battle Searchers are dead in the metagame, although they are slowly used less and less.

sangan is good cos it just has to be destroyed (smashing ground and stuff will activate it) and is so so so generic (under 1500 atk)

Turtle, Emmersblade, Tomato. These are the most used ones these days. I run Cherry Inmato in my DARK GigaVise as well as 2 Tomatos. Cherry is not only a great destroy by battle effect, but a +1 also, it can create more +1s as well and just by setting 1 Cherry, you can have 3 monsters out on the field and by your next turn get out a Caius/GigaPlant and a Magical Android/Catastor, and maybe a DAD if you are lucky. Destroy by battle searchers are definitely not dead.
