CrabHelmet
I can understand that... I mean' date=' I never knew that exodia decks were [i']that[/i] good, but I can understand why dark Eruption would make them pretty much broken... still, I think I'd rather see Dark Eruption get banned and keep Exodia (not that it really effects me since I and know one that I know use exodia...) Generally, when you have a choice between:1) A borderline card2) A balanced card that can be abused by/can abuse a borderline cardThe borderline card is the one that should be removed. For example, we could ban Angel Lift and Limit Rebirth and unban Disk Commander, but we won't. The high-maintenance borderline card should be sacrificed in order to keep the various balanced cards legal, allowing for more strategies and more skilled gameplay. This list hurts my decks too; I run Chimeratech, so my best deck dies here, and my secondary deck is Bushi, which is incredibly weak here due to the lack of COSR. But it's all for the greater good of the game; 0 Chimeratech means 3 Overload and 3 Future, and COSR rewards mindless overextending.

The only reason why I would be upset about exodia getting banned is because, well, unlike the pokémon TCG, Magic, and the sonic x TCG (all TCGs that I have played at one time or another) Yugioh has more than one way of winning (you have lowering your opponent's lifepoints to 0, using exodia, mill, etc) which was one thing that I always liked about the game... I'm not to worried about using a list that would hurt my decks... If I were, I would play by the traditional format...

Guest PikaPerson01
Lol, Crystal Beasts. Also, if the format is purposely being made slow, wouldn't cards like D-Draw, Trade-In and Solar Exchange be banned too? Would Allure of Darkness be bannable if we had an Allure of Lightness, Allure of Fireness, Allure of Waterness, Allure of Earthness and Allure of Windness? Or would this be one of the things Atem would say to: "Read the banlist as a whole, not just individual cards" etc etc? >_>
CrabHelmet
Lol' date=' Crystal Beasts. Also, if the format is purposely being made slow, wouldn't cards like D-Draw, Trade-In and Solar Exchange be banned too?[/quote'] Theme draw cards like Solar Exchange require the use of that specific theme, which is a trade-off with which we are perfectly fine; with Disk Commander banned, the D-Hero draw engine is no longer nearly as powerful. It's the same reason that Magic Cylinder is Limited but Dimension Wall isn't; if you have no monsters, they do exactly the same thing, but running no monsters is a trade-off. Trade-In requires the use of high numbers of Level 8 monsters, which is another acceptable trade-off. Running high numbers of DARK monsters is not a trade-off, as the available selection is much greater, and unlike Level 8 saturation, it does not negatively affect deck balance. Then there's the "whole-is-greater-than-sum-of-parts" thing; Deck = Hand didn't exist before Allure, for example, and summoning 3 Raiza on consecutive turns is better than merely summoning 3 Raiza at unrelated times. No Allure provides sufficient slowness to the format. Would Allure of Darkness be bannable if we had an Allure of Lightness' date=' Allure of Fireness, Allure of Waterness, Allure of Earthness and Allure of Windness?[/quote'] DARK has always been far stronger than other attributes like WIND, and Allure of Darkness's removal effect can work with cards like Escape from the Dark Dimension and D.D. Scout Plane, unlike the other hypothetical Allures. One or two of those others might be able to remain legal because running them limits deck options far more than running Allure of Darkness would, making it an acceptable trade-off akin to the theme draw cards. Or would this be one of the things Atem would say to: "Read the banlist as a whole' date=' not just individual cards" etc etc? >_>[/quote'] Probably. The Dark One
Ok, I have a number of questions. 1. Why is Norleras banned if PoC is as well? I can't see realistically getting his effect to the field without Phantom of Chaos. (Or was there another way? I forget.) 2. Why is Ultimate Offering Banned? I don't really see the point. 3. What's to prevent Lightsworn from dominating? Even without Judgment they are pretty ridiculous. (Why is Cydra banned but not Wulf?)

Even if his effect isn't the easiest effect to activate, Norleras's effect is still even better than that of CED. Total reset button. 2. Promotes mindless overextending, use with Gadgets, etc. 3. Wulf actually requires some semblance of strategy, and doesn't reward having your own field nuked.
