Oof... That spell's restriction gets in the way of the main modern Nordic play... Maybe you can use it to bait hand traps?

Looks like the best line of play is: any Nordic >  Summon Link 1 (use eff, banish Alviss) > Summon Ivaldi > Search trap > use Alviss effect > go into Aesir monster > protect board with trap. The play is actually a +1, so you might still be able to protect your board with hand traps/regular traps.

Alviss is still the core, so the GY effect of the spell is really crucial in order to not burn an enormous amount of advantage by summoning the bosses.

Good stuff.

To be fair you can still use Hippo Carnival to summon an Aesir properly with a 2-card combo of any Nordic + Hippo Carnival.

Furthermore it could be NS any Nordic -> summon the Link 1 (Gullveig) -> activate Gullveig and chain Hippo Carnival -> banish the 3 tokens to summon Ivaldi + Alviss + Vanadis -> Mill Valkyrie with Vanadis and search Svalinn with Ivaldi -> Synchro Odin.

With the above one ends on a board of Odin + Gullveig (the Link 1) + Nordic Relic Svalinn + Alviss prepared to replace Odin (and at least 2 Tuners for Odin to revive himself).

True, but any Nordic + Alviss is pretty much the same thing, right?  Foolish Burial Goods > dump throne allows you to essentially run 6 copies of Alviss, and Alviss' banish effect gives you a free Aesir.  You can even dump Alviss with Alviss, so the GY effect could be live during the opponent's turn.  An extra 3 copies via Hippo Carnival might not hurt though... I should try it.

Amusingly, I am finding Mimir to be more useful than Valkyrie as a level 2.  Nordics seem to have a lot of ways to get to the GY now (between Alviss and Vanadis).  Being able to discard the throne for hand fixing or turn 2 spells (Lightning Storm) in exchange for a free body to begin plays is pretty nice.
