  1. Funny, I was telling my brother about the Zera lore just the other day! Chaos Lord - Zerato: Envoy of the Heavens LIGHT 8* Fiend/Effect Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned by banishing 1 LIGHT or 1 DARK monster from your GY while you control "The Sanctuary in the Sky". When Summoned this way: You can activate this effect; apply the following effect, based on the Attributes of the monster banished for the Special Summon, also you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of the turn. - LIGHT: Special Summon 1 banished Fairy monster
  2. Hello, fine person! It looks like you took my advice on the contest! I hope it goes well. Haven't actually participated in one for a long time so I might as well toss my hat in here: Cheers!
  3. You know, I'm honestly kinda surprised Konami never really made FIRE Dragon a thing considering all the European-looking dragons. You'd think that would be a shoe-in for an obvious archetype at the very least. As for these cards, it looks like a very straightforward beatdown strategy with strong enough offensive and defensive plays to win games quickly (somewhere between Dinosaurs and Monarchs). Nothing really stands out as overly unique or anything, but I do appreciate how the spells/traps are basically retrains of old dragon support cards. There's... quite a number of misspel
  4. Ah, Plunder Patroll. I really like the goblin pirate theming and I would go so far as to say it is up there as one of the strongest archetypes to play pure. This particular card is just soooooooooo good based on that first effect alone. Being able to put names back into your hand while putting a body on the field is just what the deck needs. Without things set up correctly, the deck bleeds advantage; this mitigates that while also keeping your effects live. Given that the deck is pretty xenophobic, almost as important as the second effect is the name itself. Just having another n
  5. Wait, do all the cards in the set have alt. arts or is it just select cards? The explanation isn't clear. Putting out more alt. arts sounds like it would be generally good sense. Gives artificial value to cards/sets that are mostly reprints. However, it's kinda hard to judge how much value this would raise and there may be other factors that might not make it worthwhile. For one thing, depending on the cards printed, this kind of gimmick might only appeal to a specific part of the ygo fanbase - the collectors. If they don't do it right, it'd be a product that just doesn't sell we
  6. I am interested, but I feel there are some specific things you might need to know about me that might affect your decision. Will PM you with details.
  7. Ah, Flame Champion. My second favorite Pyro monster after Mr. Volcano. This card seems... Not that great. It's a more generic Necroid Synchro that enables FIRE plays. It even lets you bypass some of the more annoying conditions on some of the Laval/Flamvell Synchros, but this honestly feels like the level of a duel links card, and even then it'd probably be filler...
  8. I guess this year on YCM is off to an, uh, eventful start. Very entertaining.

  9. Huh. I didn't notice before, but it looks like the general ygo discussion subsection got rolled into the tcg/ocg card discussion section...
  10. Competitively, yeah, I doubt this would do much as long as Links are the best way to use Dragons. It might age better if/when Konami decides to kill Dragon Link. Yeah, I suppose I could make it LIGHT/DARK, but those attributes are really overused, especially with Dragons. I just really, really wanted a solid low-level Dragon that isn't LIGHT/DARK (even if I recognize that Chaos Attributes are better suited for the card).

    Hi all

Hello, fine person! Welcome to YCM! If you have ygo-related card interaction questions feel free to ask here: https://www.cardmaker.net/forums/topic/352791-yu-gi-oh-rulings-questions/ We've got a number of users with a wide amount of experience with different kinds of decks, so if you're looking to try something new to play, I'm sure we'd be able to point you somewhere! You said you're coming from MtG? I keep trying to dip my toes into the game, but I can never stick with it for very long. What kind of stuff did you play in Magic?
  12. Yeah, I'll admit, that was the first thing I noticed before fully reading the effect. Level 1 1000/1000 stats with no negative effect/nomi condition. That's a pretty significant jump in power for no real reason.
  13. Dragonmaid, huh? I'll be honest, I keep forgetting they exist and I've never really bothered to learn how they play. That said, I hope this wouldn't break that deck. I doubt it, but I'll have to look 'em up again to be sure But since you did mention Dragonmaids, I remember Dragon Ruler Tempest was reprinted with the deck and this also happens to be searchable by that D-Ruler. I guess that's another tiny extra buff for this card.
  14. Samsa, Dragon of Change WIND **** Dragon/Effect (Quick Effect): You can return 1 Level 7 or 8 Dragon monster you control to your hand; Special Summon this card from your hand or GY. If a Level 7 or 8 Dragon monster(s) is sent to your GY: You can Tribute this card; Special Summon 1 of those monsters, but shuffle it into your Deck when it leaves the field. You can only use 1 effect of "Samsa, Dragon of Change" per turn. 1000/1900 This is a card that pulls together the newer Level 7 Dragons that want to summon themselves from the hand with the older Level 7/8 Dragons that wa
  15. LIOV-JP031 落魂 Otoshidamashii Level 1 EARTH Beast Tuner Effect Monster ATK 1000 DEF 1000 You can only use the (2) effect of this card’s name once per turn. (1) If you control a non-Tuner monster, your opponent cannot target this card for attacks. (2) If a monster is sent from the field to the opponent’s GY: Place 1 Otoshidamashii Counter on this card. Then, Special Summon “Otoshidamashii Token(s)” (Beast/EARTH/Level 1/ATK ?/DEF ?) up to the number of Otoshidamashii Counters on this card. Increase the Level of those Token(s) by the number of Otoshidamashii Counters on this card, and
  16. Hello, fine peoples! I was just thinking of old cards with discard costs (Lightning Vortex, Raigeki Break, etc.) and I wanted to make a set of cards that helped mitigate their costs without being too good. Basically, this is an archetype of discard fodder that can help with a later grind game depending on which ones you'd use for a deck. Do I think these would actually be used? Not really, they are conditional and rely on specific cards to trigger, plus the game is too fast for it, but I think I accomplished what I set out to do with 'em. Without further ado, onto the cards!
  17. Both effects are pretty solid; kinda wish this a little more generic so that you could combo this with Heroic Challenger - Thousand Blades, but this was obviously made with Sunavalon in mind. That said, it seems pretty inefficient for a deck to need to get to Link-4 before getting a consistent way of triggering its main playmakers.
  18. I was looking through Gigobyte/Gagagigo lore cards and apparently our little lizard friend knew Mokey Mokey as well!
  19. I think I'll start at S-26. Won't be able to start today either, but I'll be able to jump in tomorrow!
  20. So, I guess "today" meant "a week from now" Anyways, here's a few more Wu! Lotus Twister Longi Kite Tongue of Saiping Sun Chi Lantern I added 1 card to the opening post: "Heylin Boy Genius" I also updated some old Wu (the edits are in their respective post): Eye of Dashi - added some burn damage so it can support Dragon of Fire Monkey Staff - changed effect entirely to support "Heylin Boy Genius" Sapphire Dragon - clarified a few things
  21. I can finally see Divine Wind of Mist Valley now xD
  22. Ooh, one of Nyx's classic "post and I'll..." threads! I've missed these!
  23. I'ma just PM you. In any case, I am going to let everyone else try to grab some items so I won't dig in the other puzzles.
  24. Nice, but I will say there's a reason I put "luck" in quotes when I chose my squares
