  1. Oh, so this is why the other thread was locked. I dunno, both threads have value. Having the errata in both isn't causing any harm (and without it here there isn't really context on why Firewall was unbanned). The other thread should be good for specifically talking about Firewall tho. On topic, OK list. It looks like minor tweaks rather than anything super big. The Nadir Servant limitation is likely to have more of an impact than Firewall coming back.
  2. So, uh, what's up with the locked Firewall Dragon topic? It says it'll automatically unlock itself on Jan. 8??

EDIT: Okay, so it look like the context is in the OCG banlist thread.

By the by, do you think you could unpin the old banlists in the banlist and theory subsection?

    2. The Nyx Avatar

      The Nyx Avatar

Done. Unpinned previous banlists and pinned the most relevant ones.

At last we can get unpins/pins on subsequent lists in a more timely manner.

  3. To be fair, the site itself is not the most active place in the world. But to answer your question, it's pretty dead probably because of what the Advanced section is. It's for designing with the current meta in mind, so it makes sense. It also doesn't help that you need two to tango (so to speak). While one person may design for Advanced, if they want critique, another person familiar with the meta also has to respond. It's generally more likely for a person to get general critique in Casual, so it becomes a loop (Casual gets more responses > people want responses > they post to
  4. Thanks Ray! I do want to clarify some things based on what you said: The common effect on the spells/traps (the auto activation) is meant to combo with "Exchanging Tree". You can Set them during your turn, give them to your opponent with Exchanging Tree, and then during their end phase, if they try to give it back, they are forced to activate it instead. Of course, you can also force the activations using most Spell/Trap destruction cards (MST and its pals). I got the idea off of the old card "Bait Doll" which is one of my all time favorites. Ideas is definitely OP, but withi
  5. I find it amusing. Don't typically engage in enough anime-based places for it to get annoying.
  6. Funny, Cold Feet would probably work well in the archetype that I just posted. Cool cool, I'll open blocks 8, 17, 26, 29, and 34.
  7. Hello, fine peoples! I actually remember wanting to do this for a while, but never really finished it any time I tried putting pen to paper on it. Now that I've made it, I'd kinda remembered why I didn't do it before. Right now, it's all over the place and I never committed myself to a solid win condition outside of the field spell (which I recognize is bad design on my part). I'll probably take a second crack at this one again later when I can focus it a bit more, but I did want to post these ones because I did still like how they turned out (theme-wise). @Rayfield Lumina
  8. I recognized a little bit of the Egyptian mythos of the first monster, but I had to look it up for more info. It turned out to be a pretty interesting read, if short. In short: the monster is based on the Egyptian goddess Wadjet (or, more specifically the combined form of Wadjet + Nekhbet). It is meant to symbolize the ruler of all of Egypt - Wadjet's cobra body being the lower half (representing lower Egypt) and Nekhbet's being the upper half (representing upper Egypt). The fact that it is a GY theme is on-point since Wadjet was supposedly the caretaker of Horus, son of the death-
  9. Also general discussion on other holiday memes. Love 'em? Hate 'em? I'm curious. @Rayfield Lumina
  10. I'll be honest, the third one's appearance bores me. Second one isn't much better, but it is a pendulum archetype, so it sounds interesting. The first one looks really cool though.
  11. I'ma take a guess at the green field spell. Is it "Chaos Zone"?

  13. Gratz to Nyx and Enguin, our new clean-up cr-- I mean, overlords!

      Nobody Really

Nah. They're totally a clean up crew.

  14. Marauding Captain: "Meh, see, these coppers just won't quit! We need to move to a new location! Meh!" Gagaga Girl: "Like, totally! Monkey Mokey, where should we go?" Mokey Mokey: "..." Gagaga Girl: "OH! That's totally, like, a great idea!" Marauging Captain: "Say, those coppers will never find us there, see!" Mokey Mokey: "..." Maurauding Captain/Gagaga Girl: *laughs evilly* Dark Magician Girl: "You... understand it?"
  15. It also looks like 1 archetype per generation (Ra = DM, Ojama + GX, 6 Sam = 5Ds, Ghostrick = Zexal, F.A. = Arc-V). I'm guessing there will be at least 1 more attraction card based on a VRAINS archetype as a support card down the line.
  16. Gotta get some sleep.  Night y'all!

  17. Oh, you too? Edit: I seriously shouldn't be staying up watching the mod thread, but I have to admit it is really entertaining.
  18. Better late than never! Just need to make holiday-based posts and tag Rayfield.
  19. Yeah, I refused. I did nominate The Nyx Avatar, but uh, yeah... he hasn't been brought up again. I still think he'd be good, but...
  20. New box revealed: Rage of Volcano The general consensus on the subreddit is that it sucks. And it looks like it does. It kinda hurts because I love Hazys and I like Fire King, so I might dig regardless. Gotta love how the burn damage halving even applies to the pure burn spells in this box. Hinotama deals better burn damage than Final Flame and Ookazi.
  21. Fair. The site was really dead. I'd love to give the benefit of the doubt here, but it's pretty hard to know how consistent you (or Hina) would be outside of your word. Given how you both were recommended several times, I can see you fill in some of the bonus criteria, but verifiable evidence that you'll be here only comes with time. ...Then again, that's just me. I can't speak for anyone else.
  22. Given the names thrown out, there's a few people who fit the major criteria, and they should be the focus rather than people who don't fit. Can... can we agree on at least that much?
  23. Can... can we just step back for a sec? Given the level of activity this site generates, a mod should probably be chosen based on criteria rather than specific people. Someone who knows their way around the site (~500 post minimum) Someone who checks the site regularly (self-explanatory, otherwise all this would have solved nothing) (Sorry Krow) Someone who will accept the position (given the fact that this appointment is clearly more of a glorified janitor role than any real power + the general suspicion to vehemence against mods) Bonuses: Well-liked/respected - A
