First, you have to obtain a rom for the pokemon game you want, then download tools, like advanced map, then what? How do you take the maps from the pokemon game and edit them? How do you take the maps from the pokemon game and edit them?[/quote'] You firstly have to get the ROM that you want, then download Advance Map. In Advance Map you can open the ROM and edit the maps. It might take a while to get used to mapping, so I recommended reading a few tutorials on PokéCommunity about it. I did all the things and patched it to ips... But all it shows is a blank screen.?? If it's a large look like Advance Map, it might take a couple of minutes. If it's a small tool like Starter Editor Pro then it should only take a few seconds. You had the right idea to play some hacks first, congratz. :P Anyways, if you want to start your own hack then I'd first suggest trying out one of the 3 main tasks: Mapping, Scripting or Spriting. Look for some tutorials on each one and find out which one you enjoy the most. When you've done that, post a thread in PokéCommunity's Scrapbox (make sure it has at least a Story and some Features) containing the details of your hack. Go to Google and search *Name of Pokemon Game here* ROM. Find a mirror and download it. Then load it into advance map and click new map and...start. But to make it seem more realistic, It would be helpful to know the following things:-How do you make a person leave after a certian event has happened? (i.e. a man moves once you get 8 gym badges, making a route acsessible)-How do you make signposts or people say things? (I know it's got something to do with scripting, but i havent found a single tutorial that shows me how to actually insert it into the game)-How do you delete maps in advanced map? There aren't many that do explain it, but check out any XSE Tutorials you can find on PC and PHO.-How do you delete maps in advanced map?Deleting maps is probably not a good idea, because you might want to move it somewhere else later. Once I type in a script, I try to hit the compile button, but it doesn't work. I also tried saving it and then just typing in the offset in Advanced map, but no matter what I do, the script doesn't work. I need help!EDIT Nvm I fixed the problem, but thanks for past help!
