Concept: Shifting Monsters

Since my last creation didn't go well I will make another approach this time. I will explain by answering the questions I made :-).

 

So what kind of nonsense is this?

 

Shifting Monsters is a new type of monsters.

These monster come always in pairs. These 2 are the exact opposite of each other. So if one has 1500 ATK and 500 DEF his counter part will have 500 ATK and 1500 DEF. If one is Light the Other is Darkness.

Also the effect will change completely if possible. When one increases Life Points his Counter Part will decrease it.

 

One turn after they have been summoned they are placed on the bottom of the deck and summon their counter part to the field.

If you don't have the counterpart of the shifting monster in your deck anymore you can only use them for one turn as they will tribute themselves in your next turn.

 

The Pros of this style is that you get a great variety of monsters in your play and thanks to their constant changing it will be hard to use something efficient against them. Also this allows to create some very powerful effects which will be balanced out by the counterparts Card.

 

The Cons are this style will be very vulnerable against cards that prevent summoning like vanity ruler.

 

This is an example (not a final monster as more effects will be added)

 

Name: Shifting: Devil Ray

 

Attribute/Type: Darkness / Fish

ATK: 2000

DEF: 0

 

One turn after this Card has been Summoned, place this Card on the Bottom of your deck and Special summon 1 "Shifting: Angel Ray" from your Hand or Deck. If this Card is destroyed except by his own effect. Send one "Shifting: Angel Ray" from your deck or hand to the Graveyard. If this Card is returned to your deck or hand from the Graveyard, shuffle 1 "Shifting: Angel Ray" from your Graveyard into your Deck.

 

Name: Shifting: Angel Ray

 

Attribute/Type: Light / Fish

ATK: 0

DEF: 2000

 

One turn after this Card has been Summoned, place this Card on the Bottom of your deck and Special summon 1 "Shifting: Devil Ray" from your Hand or Deck. If this Card is destroyed except by his own effect. Send one "Shifting: Angel Ray" from your deck or hand to the Graveyard. If this Card is returned to your deck or hand from the Graveyard, shuffle 1 "Shifting: Devil Ray" from your Graveyard into your Deck.

Isn't this just a TINY change to the switching of Gladiator Beasts?

 

It is similar yes but their are a lot of difference for example:

 

It is not optional you have to change your monster or send them to the graveyard.

 

Also Glads don't use counter parts you can summon just other glads not with this set each card will have only 1 counter part that can be summoned.

With glads you can choose which one you want to summon not with this set.

 

The effects will change they will not gain their effect through their summoning.

 

Also when you loose one the shifting monsters his counter part will also go to the graveyard from your deck.

 

I think this gives enough differences or not?

So this would be the first 2 Cards of this Set. But I need to know if the Lore is understandable or if the text is wrong in any way (OCG fix).

 

Name: Shifting: Burning Rager

 

Attribute: Fire

Type: Warrior

 

ATK: 1900

DEF: 100

 

1 Turn after this Card has been Summoned, place this Card on the bottom of your Deck and Special Summon 1 "Shifting: Freezing Defender" from your Hand or Deck. If this Card is destroyed except by his own effect. Send one "Shifting: Freezing Defender" from your deck or hand to the Graveyard. If this Card is returned to your deck or hand from the Graveyard, shuffle 1 "Shifting: Freezing Defender" from your Graveyard into your Deck.

When this Card attacks a Monster with less ATK then this one Destroy the Defending Monster after Damage Calculation.

 

Note: This effect is meant to help against high DEF cards.

 

Name: Shifting: Freezing Defender

 

Attribute: Water

Type: Warrior

 

ATK: 100

DEF: 1900

 

1 Turn after this Card has been Summoned, place this Card on the bottom of your Deck and Special Summon 1 "Shifting: Burning Rager" from your Hand or Deck. If this Card is destroyed except by his own effect. Send one "Shifting: Burning Rager" from your deck or hand to the Graveyard. If this Card is returned to your deck or hand from the Graveyard, shuffle 1 "Shifting: Burning Rager" from your Graveyard into your Deck.

When this Card is attacked by a Monster with less DEF then this Card. Destroy the Attacking Monster after Damage Calculation.

During your next Standby Phase after this card is Summoned, return this card to the bottom of your Deck and Special Summon 1 "Shifting - Angel Ray" from your Deck.

 

 

Essentially GB's, but worse.

Thank you for your Input and I agree that it is similar to GB's however I try to make it as different as I can.
