I'm wanting to go for the dipolama which is twice a week i go to the guildford college and another school to do work on either the enviroment or media studies. I'm stuck between doing eniroment and media studies. I'm thinking to do media studies as my better subjects are focused in that area and I like to do film making and game making. There is a but im not garuanted to get into the diploma course. So ihave ot have a back up plan. my options. Usally we would have 3 options but we only have 2 becuase we have to do R.E. now i have to choose 2 out of a large range of subjects to do.Do you have to go through something simmilar or got advice? Golden Chaos
I believe it's far better to ask a pro (as in Headmaster or parent), than asking people here.

Kizzi
I'm in Year 8 and I'll be taking the IT diploma if I can. Also, isn't it like 8 options not 2?
Brushfire
I took chose my options last year, about to go on Work Experience on Monday. Anyway, I recommend going for Media Studies. It's what I would've gone for if I didn't select BTEC Acting. R.E isn't an optional subject, but it is up to you if you take the GCSE course or not. I chose to take it, as it's an extra GCSE I can add to my record and it can help improve one's debating skill. Hope I helped, and feel free to ask me any other questions you might have. Junk Raver
Back many years ago when i was at school, im sure things were different as now they are implementing like college style courses for GCSE's. I took Maths, english and science as standard, and did history, French, ICT, graphics and P.E, R.S and Citizenship were also included. Its worth taking a language, and i suggest history, i loved learning about the world wars, vietnam, the cold war and strangely 'women at war'. Sartorius
2 months into GCSE, I dropped out. Was in one of the top schools, they only care about grades, not health. All I can say is, good luck.
Soul Legacy
The choices are abit pointless, in are school you only get to choose three, and plus they all say "Oh its gonna dramaticly change your life!!!!!" well uh, sorry to ruin the parade, but its not going too that dramatically

Also' date=' isn't it like 8 options not 2?[/quote'] Not it's 3 origannlly but we have to do R.E so it reduced to 2. The reason your thinking its 8 is that you do a number of subjects by default such a IT adn DT aswell as the core subjects. The thing that really annoys me though is that we are going to the evening on my birthday :(.

.Requiem
I got a question why ask people on YCM about this. Why not ask parents people who went to the school or other people who went to good colleges.
