JesusofChaos™
Barring Scrubs, Americans really suck at making comedy point in case- Americans tried to copy The Office (originally made in the UK) but they completely destroyed it with obvious humour. Why can't Americans understand subtle comedy. Anyway Yanks get back to your sexual inuendos and fart jokes
Gogeta™
I can agree that most American sitcoms are not that great (and Im from America). =/

OMGAKITTY
American culture does not foster subtly...if it's not in-your-face, people don't pay attention to it.
Felix
I don't know, there's Malcom, Friends, Scrubs, Boston Legal (even though it's more Drama). If you'll notice all the ones I've listed bar Friends (the original American staged comedy) don't have a live audience and I think that shows something about quality. There's probably more but they're the only ones I've seen and like.
CrabHelmet
British comedy has Yes Minister. The Americans took one look at that and conceded that anything they did was going to suck by comparison, so they just decided to embrace their suckage. Then they invaded the Middle East. I'm not saying I don't lol at a lot of American shows, it's just that the comedy in them is a little less-than-subtle.
