I used to' date=' but only on the squat.

For those who don't know what that is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Squat_(exercise)

I put the weight onto my shoulders and lifted it up by straightening my legs.

Was able to lift 355 pounds, which by then I weighed only 140, so 2.5 times my body weight

[/quote']

Lol the best way to strengthen your legs. =D Also, the best way to funk your back up.

Did you ever do it' date=' Bloodrun?

I admit when I did it I nearly ended up breaking my thighs in the process

Lol its what I use to leg lift. I don't have one of those heaps of metal, that pros have, so I have to use what I can get my hands on. Though the YMCA does have a decent, simple but effective sitting leg lift.

Yeah I only used the school's gym for it' date=' and I only did it for PE because our coach said he'd give 10 points extra credits for anyone who can lift all 355 pounds and lift it 50 times without stopping.

I lift weights also, I've been doing it ever since I had weight training when I was a sophomore, I haven't been working out for a month now, but when I hit the bench, I'm always strong at that. My bench max up to date is about 290 or something, I'm not sure...but sometimes I get lazy and don't workout as much.

Tips and Advice: If it's your first time in weightlifting, don't be all cheesy and tough by lifting 100 lbs or 200 lbs that will only slow down your muscle development, if it's your first time go light then when you're strong enough you can go ahead and attempt a heavyweight, going slow and easy actually builds muscle.

And oh yeah, don't be a dumb ass and take steroids, it's not worth it! Just believe in yourself if you want to lift a very heavyweight, works for me! ^_^
