Winged Sage Falcos vs. Ehren, Lightsworn Monk

Recommended Posts

Winged sage falcos' effect is better. But when you take the time to analyse how your opponent react to them ehren is far more superior.

When you summon falcos nothing stops your opponent from setting his monster so he's pretty useless at this point (unless you run something like dark simorgh). You need some sort of support like shrink so your opponent gets caught by this. If not it's too easy to play around him.

With ehren, if your oppoent dosen't care if the monster is sent back to the deck you will still clear the field of a monster while fattening his deck (plus you mill 3 in the end phase). And if he want's his monster to hit the grave (like sangan) he will be forced to play it in atk position. When you combine ehren with other monster this is where it becomes even better. With cards like king tiger whangu you can really benefit from this. The only downside to ehren is that the monster flips before being sent back to the deck.

Plus when your opponent is unable to deal with your threats he is often forced to set a monster just to defend himself.

The difference between their atk point isn't very important, specially if you run burden of the mighty. Thunderking Rai-Oh and Doomcaliber Knight are way better anti meta monsters than these.

Ehren is a Warrior that you should be able to toolbox very easily with RotA (the hate for Konami begins to grow in me) whenever you sense requiters and similar stuff. The mills can be good, but if you're trying to run Ehren in Gadgets, it won't do fine.

Falcos can combo very good with Shrink and sometimes Forbidden Chalice, but he also has decent ATK anyway. His effect is, in my opinion, more useful, which is why I prefer him.
