Besides, we're all going to die in 2012.[/quote'] Just because the Mayan calendar ends in 2012 doesn't mean we will die in 2012. My theory is that the world will start to fix itself, starting with the human race. It will create something so extreme so as to wipe out the human race such as global thermonuclear war. Then, the world will 'start over' with only small fossils to prove there was a world before next. Hopefully, by the time those new species get a thinking brain, we will have a better planet. Remember, turmoil or prosperity, there have always been people who insisted the cases will last indefinately, but every time they've been proven wrong. Most countries did not address the issue until just a few months before 2000. The US tried to warn of this issue almost 5 years before that, and in the end nothing bad really happened. That was how it worked in the roaring 20s before the Great Depression. But you're right in this case, since it's already so bad, so it's doubtful what worse will happen. They still cling to the fact it faded quickly in 1941. But that was because the war opened jobs quickly and the depression ended much sooner than it should have.
