Icarus™
I'm currently using Great Moth and Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth in my Insect Deck and was wondering if I should keep them. They're not too hard to get out with the right combo on the Field but the time it takes slows my deck down for tournament play. Any advice? Yogg-Saron
First off, I wouldn't reccomend a Insect deck for a tournament anyways. The only good combo I can think of with Insects are the good ole' Insect Barrier + DNA Surgery trick. This could also prove good for your own monsters as they are all treated as insects to. So add Doom Dozer x2 to take the place of those 2. Great Moth is pretty much worthless in my book, and Perfectly Ultimate Great Moth has potential but is uderly to hard to pull off and as you said slows your deck alot. Collectible
Perfectly ultimate great moth doesn't do much at all, it can easily be fissure'd or something, and costs are high. You need Anteatereatinggiants, Chainsaw Insects, and doom dozers.
Icarus™
Thanks. I was planning on replacing them with Doom Dozer and Chainsaw Insect.
Yogg-Saron
Also, you need something to replace the Petit Moths and Cocoons, I would reccomend Neo Bugs and Insect Knights for that, or maybe even a anteatereatinggiant like Collectable suggested. Icarus™
I'm already using Neo Bugs, Insect Knights, and Anteatereatingants. I was thinking of using a Brain Crusher (if I can find one) and some Arsenal Bugs.
Thegargoylevine
Well, there's two types of Insect Decks: a beatdown fucused one, or a deck that fucuses on turning your opponent's monsters to insects. If your playing in tounaments, then use Insect beatdown. Here's an example: Monsters: 29Howling Insect x3Gokipon x3Pinch Hopper x3Phantom Cricket x3Magical Merchant x3Brain Crusher x3Doom Dozer x2Ultimate Insect LV3 x3Ultimate Insect LV5 x2Card TrooperSanganBreaker the Magical WarriorMagician of Faith Spells: 8Mystical Space TyphoonHeavy StormPremature BurialBook of MoonSmashing GroundFissurePot of Avarice x2 Traps: 3Call of the HauntedMirror ForceTorrential Tribute Side Deck: 15 (Duh)Pulling the Rug x34-Starred Ladybug of Doom x2Marionette Mite x2Lightning Vortex x2Twister x2Royal Decree x2D.D. CrowCeasefire Gokipon and Howling Insect are the Searchers (Howling Insect works very well with Ulitmate Insect LV3) and Pinch Hopper works well with Brain Crusher and Ultiamte Insect LV5 and 7 (even if they don't get their effects). Pot of Avarice is nice when I'm using 7 searchers and 3 Magical Merchants, and there are enough Insects for 2 Pots and 2 Doom Dozer, but not 3 Doom Dozer, and Doom Dozer isn't good enough to run in threes, even in a Insect Deck. You might not know it, but 4-Starred Ladybug is really good. Most decks are filled with Level Fours, and 4-SLoD really helps against decks like Gadgets. Marionette Mite is good against Zombies Swarm, since it is faster than Insect Swarm, and against Fiend Beatdown, if we ever see them again. Collectible
Avarice is limited, Right? :0 Gotta have chainsaws, too.
Thegargoylevine
Darn, five posts were made before I could finish. Well, I never made an Insect Deck, and I spent 1 hours and 30 minutes making that deck, so take my advice seriously!
Thegargoylevine
Avarice is limited' date=' Right? :0 Gotta have chainsaws, too.[/quote'] No, and how did you respond so quick? Are you watching this page or what? P.S. Chainsaw Insect sucks, except maybe against Monarchs or in Exodia Decks with Creature Swap or better yet, Appropriate. Icarus™
Thanks.Right now my deck is more on the Beatdown side although I do use DNA Surgery and Parasite Paracide. I haven't used this in a tourny yet but it has faired quite well against decks my friends and I have used in tournys.
Thegargoylevine
My advice is use either Beatdown or Type Transfer, not a mix. To tell you the truth Type Transfer is old and crappy, and has some of the worst strategys with cards that can be replaced, but it's really up to you. I reconmend replacing them with some cards in my deck. Collectible
Chainsaw does not suck D: He's a really good wall, at the very least. If you use him to attack directly, you're opponent doesn't draw cards. =D
Thegargoylevine
About the deck I made, exchange Ultimate Insect LV7 for a Card Trooper.
Icarus™
That wouldn't work for me. I refuse to use Card Trooper or Monarchs in any of my decks. I know they would help but almost everybody uses them and I try for originality.
Guest
its not bad but not good, try ultimate insects instead of moths they run faster
Icarus™
I've been looking for Ultimate Insects but the website I buy from only has LV 7 in stock.
