Welcome to Yu-Gi-Oh! The Created Card Game - Monthly Tournament #1!

This isn't exactly a card creation contest, but rather it is a card dueling contest. It is the other aspect to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Created Card Game that makes this project more exciting than other custom card projects. This will use, and ONLY use cards from the Yu-Gi-Oh! Created Card Game. Right now this is only limited to Set 0.

The YVD set file and Forbidden & limited list can be found in the links which are in my sig, or you can go to http://www.createdcardgame.com which has all of this, plus a brief explanation on how to use YVD and download links for the set file and images.

[spoiler=Prizes]1st place: 4 Reps, will get to submit 4 cards bypassing the voting stage.

2nd place: 2 Reps, will get to submit 2 cards bypassing the voting stage.

3rd and 4th place: will get to submit 1 card bypassing the voting stage.

This tournament will be a bit shorter than originally planned. It will be Swiss-Style 3 rounds, and after that the top 4 duelists will advance to Single Elimination in the top 4. Each round will last 5 days, or until all matches are finished.

Everyone should make contact with their opponent within 3 days. Please send your opponent a PM on this forum and post here when you have done so. (Find their nick from where they posted on this thread to send them a PM). It would be best to arrange a meet using some instant messaging program, or ideally on our chat server irc.createdcardgame.com (http://www.createdcardgame.com/page/IRC+Chat for more info)

If you make contact with your opponent within the first 3 days and your opponent does not respond, you will be given the win for that match. If both players make contact but cannot find a sufficient time for the duel to take place, it will be a double-loss. If neither player contacts each other, and the duel does not take place, it will be a double-loss.

The last day to post results for this round is April 15, 2009 at 11:59:59 PM CST. The loser needs to report.

Winners are listed in bold.

Round 4 Brackets:

Karl vs. Snitch

tommers2008 vs. Nightmarian

Tournament Standings:

1st. Nightmarian 3-0 (+2 tiebreaker)

It will be the same. The reason I'm doing it this way is because not everyone gets on at the same time' date=' this way you have time to contact each other. I've been in this type of tournament before I think it works pretty well.

Meh. I'll try it, but only cause I wanna get in a few cards I don't think anyone will vote in. I don't think its possible to make a really good deck with just Set 0 though. This is actually kinda like a tournament system I wanted to use once, but never got the opportunity to use, though it was entirely point-based, rather than victory-based, using a point system I was developing (still got it, but it needs tweaking).

Swiss format uses points too' date=' but it's only used for tiebreakers.

My point system was based on what cards you play during the duel though, and things like that. So you get points for every spell you play, playing only spells, doing only effect damage, or only battle damage, and things like that. Winning gave you 200 points, while losing halved the points you gain. Stuff like that.
