Paranoia - Required to PURGE RPG (PG-13) [not started, accepting]

Welcome to my third thread, and first attempt at an RPG!

Now, you may or may not have heard of Paranoia. If you want to know the basics, click ===>Here<===.

No, I did not create Paranoia. It is a tabletop game made in the 1980's. Nor will I use the rule book (kinda difficult, and it would make it complex for over the internet and such). I've made my own rules (although mainly it is just a simplified version of the real Paranoia one) for it, but the setting is the same.

Players will be Red-level (lowest grade) troubleshooters working for me (Friend Computer) to kill groups such as Communists, computer hackers, mutants, and those damn Wobblies...

I will assign you completely fair *cough* tasks. And supply you with equipment. If you die, I will simply use one of the backup clones (basically "Lives" to replace you). Unfortunately this will matter little, because unless you are a mutant (and thus will be terminated anyway) you will not remember what happened to the previous clone. Currently you have five each, but I may reward you with more, or punish you with less...

Now, you all belong to a faction other then the computer. You must juggle keeping your mutant powers a secret (if you have one), advancing the cause of your secret society, and trying to earn promotion to higher color grades. Remember, you SHOULD keep backstabbing to keep the game interesting (however a direct shot-to-the-back for no reason is not allowed, and will result in termination), and I may put you in situations where it's backstabbing or death. Attempting to betray Friend Computer however is not advised, as death is almost certain to follow.

Also, you start with 7 points that you may use up for three different abilities.

Management, Stealth and Violence

Management allows you to to sweet-talk NPC's better, and makes you more likely to get better gadgets, as well as making the most of the gadgets you have.

Stealth: Makes backstabbing and sneaking past NPC's all the easier. Also can help NOT being sneaked at.

Violence: Your combat skills, need I say more? Well, I shall. It also increases your strength, allowing you to carry more equipment, and perhaps even move heavy objects out of the way.

All these MAY effect dice roll, but in the end RPing and keeping the RPG interesting can in fact be more important then your skill :).

'Leveling up' happens from completing missions, from either Friend Computer or the factions, even sometimes for things you did DURING the missions. Not always mind you, but every level grants you two additional points.

You roll a dice for... Most things really, roll for trying to get an object lying on the ground can lead to a trap catching you. Rolling for combat, attempts to build a makeshift object, attempting to shift large bits of debris, using your mutant powers, the equipment you're given actually WORKING.

Except YOU don't roll the die, I do. And as said I may simply say you succeed or fail instead of bothering if it makes it more interesting. The die is 20-sided, so you know.

*Note:* When you die, you start back at level one, and also, as said before, no memory of the previous clone is allowed. When you lose all your lives, you can rejoin but you should have a different personality and appearance as well. Appearing to be too similar to the other could lead to suspicion and termination.

After you put in this, I will PM you with your possible Mutant Power, and your other allegiance. As well as messages from your other allegiance for missions THEY give you.

I will also give you equipment. But that will be known to the others. You CAN ask for equipment, but odds are I won't give it to you unless I'm interested in what you do with it :).

Your mission will be given when there are 6 people, but more can join, you just have to wait until the current mission is over, OR I may send you in for other reasons...

Oh, and also, I'm looking for an extra person to assist me in working this RPG (I can't be here all the time, and I want this RPG to keep going), but that person will need proof that they will be able to do it well.

...I think that is about it. As I said, it's my first RPG and as such is basic. The current situation will be told to you when enough troubleshooters are here. Although from the name it seems quite obvious PURGE will be a major aspect.

Remember, most important in this RP is not leveling up, but ROLE-PLAYING!

Of course, going up colors is also quite important...

Any questions and/or sign ups? Is there a glaring flaw? Speak now people, before this information goes ultraviolet and questioning it will result in termination!

Oh, and here is the starting point, I'm not very good at images... or uploading...

The orange is where troubleshooters enter via teleporter, only at the beginning though (and it's a one-way trip). The grey bar at the top is a computer monitor that Friend Computer will communicate to you via. The small rectangles on both sides of the hallway are doors, and the small red dots are teleporters. that will send you to your objectives (or as close as they can send you).

Tell me which way of putting the background in is better.

Oh, and the beginning:

You wake up, the surroundings seem odd to you. You are quite certain the last time you woke up was in a different area. Yet even as you try to recall, it slips away from your mind, as do the memories of the past. What seems untouched are your past skills, although how you got them is unknown even to you, and how you work for some organization. You are meant to help them do... something...

Dazed, you exit the strange orange cylinder you were in. Now you are in a cold, metallic area. There is nothing particularly interesting. Some dull doors stained with rust, and the rest the same dull grey metal.

Actually, not quite. You realize there is a massive screen on a wall. And others have arrived from the same place you have, the same orange cylinder they exit from. You didn't catch how they came from there unfortunately.

The screen comes alive, words begin appearing.

'Welcome new recruits, I am Friend Computer. You have been chosen due to your dedication to the order I have created. I am happy to tell you that you are now Troubleshooters, you will be able to help keep this utopia running along swimmingly by eliminating problems! Please get to know each other, you will need to work very well together, and failure to do so proves you are imperfect, which means you have falsified the information that you should be here, and should immediately report the the termination bay.'
