I used to be a little creeped out by homosexuals. But since then I've met alot of friends who are homosexual and I realize they're normal people who live their lives slightly different from mine. So you have my sympathy. Or at least you had my sympathy. Your post was about how people were mistreating you for being homosexual and that being emotionally abusive towards people because their beliefs are different is stupid. I agree with that 100% Then, you turn around and insult religions. You did the same thing you're criticizing others for doing. Hyprocrisy says hello. And to clarify, I am a Catholic. I don't hate homosexuals for 3 reasons:A) I have yet to find anything in the bible that explicitly says that it's wrong.B) Even if it is wrong, the bible says God absolves us of ALL our sins. Therefore, homosexuals would be forgiven and still allowed into heaven.C) They're human beings like everyone else. Their beliefs don't make them any better or any worse than heterosexuals. Homophobia is a big problem for me, and hating somebody just for that particular reason and no other -in my opinion - is pointless. Why should have to face name-calling, physical assaults etc. It's nothing serious, only a punch or having things thrown at me, but im not rejected, i have friends which do stand up for me, and watchful teachers, but its when im alone that the problems occur. I dont fear for my life, but maybe if the level of abuse becomes worse then maybe. I live in a 'pure' working class town, only white-working class people live here, most do not accept 'black' people nor anybody that isn't 'normal'. I am proud of who I am, i dont generally care if anybody doesn't like it, and i dont want to have to put up with this for the rest of my life. I personally blame, A) the bible, "Its Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve".B)dads - "oi son, like football, grr.. manly stuff, gay people, ew, kick the s*** out of them".c)ignorance, i dont think people at school are aware fully of gay people. I asked a friend (didn't know i was gay), what he thought of gay people, he loosely said:"Oh i hate them, I dont want them to b** me or look at me, they deserve to die."What makes you feel so special that a guy will fancy you. - that's what i have to say. Enough of this rant, i think we have this problem pretty much nailed, still, i can proberly just ignore it, maybe just ignore them people in general. [spoiler=Extra info]I am the only openly gay person at my school, only a few are openly bi, and i do know some secret bi's. The town i live in is very small, and used to be a very busy mining town, you can imagine what all the adults are like. -cant think of any additional info at the present time. When this was announced, two rather large homophobes yelled. I quickly said something intelligable to shut them up, but all further conversation melted down to them rehashing the words "jabroni" and "queer".
