[spoiler=Where Things Stand]The world pretty much returned to normal after the defeat of Copy Rezo, though some things, I will not hesitate to admit, changed quite severely. Every couple formed over the course of Lina Inverse's crusade across the Plane dissolved almost immediately, mostly out of exasperation, for one thing; also, what was formerly a small-scale restaurant in a small-scale town was now the ultimate tourist attraction, as Lina had become so notorious that the only one she ever feared was just as legendary. Oh, and escargot sans shell became wildly popular across the Plane.

 

Amelia, naturally, became a terrifying authority figure in her own right, enough so brigands raiding in Sailune feared her rather than Lina. Sylphiel used her newfound influence to grant an only-slightly-dejected Gourry a mansion and harem in Sairaag, whose throne she succeeded. Like Martina, she recovered her throne solely through the privilege of having argued with Lina Inverse and lived. The Ryuzoku's safety was enforced by these rulers with great success, for much the same reason. Zelgadis, however, endured a completely different fate: he simply vanished into obscurity after Amelia literally annoyed him into unconsciousness; he continued his search for the elusive cure to his chimæric curse.

Then it all changed. A deluded cult of the Lord of Nightmares, a willful entity of total chaos manifest in the D-SPOOKR, managed to imprison their mistress's avatar... and keep her locked up. Queerly enough, the nigh-omnipotent Nightmare Lord herself is irked for this transgression, and has thus sent the mighty Ceiphied himself — in a Makmute form à la Filia and Varugaav, no less — to locate and rescue the mysteriously powerless Lina. The catch? Planar crossing has taken a lot out of Ceiphied, and as such, he has turned to the most powerful mage he knows of... coincidentally, Luna Inverse.
