legendhiro
i have decided to re-post all of my sets/decks. this is a set i made in an attempt to translate one of the world's greatest board games to one of the world's greatest trading card games. the chess piece and advanced chess move cards were colored by me. Chess World
This monster can only attack a monster in a Monster Card Zone diagonal to the Monster Card Zone occupied by this monster. When your opponent declares a "Chess King" or "Chess Queen" that you control as an attack target, you can send the top card of your Deck to the Graveyard to redirect that attack to this monster. When this monster is destroyed as a result of battle, search your deck for one copy of "Chess Pawn" and add it to your hand. Shuffle your deck afterward.
This monster can only attack monsters that are two columns over from the column occupied by this monster. Negate the following effect if "Chess World" is not face-up on the field. When this monster is Special Summoned from your Deck by the effect of a "Chess" Monster that you control, Special Summon one "Chess Knight" from your Deck in face-up attack position. You can only activate one "Chess Knight" each turn.
This monster can only attack a monster in a Monster Card Zone that is diagonal to the Monster Card zone occupied by this monster. When this monster destroys an opponent's monster as a result of battle, if "Chess World" is face-up on the field, you can Special Summon one level four or lower "Chess" Monster from you Deck. Destroy that monster at the End Phase.
A Normal Summon of this monster can only be conducted by Releasing two "Chess" Monsters that you control. If "Chess World" is face-up on the field, once per turn you can change this monster in face-up attack position to face-up defense position to make one other "Chess" Monster you control unable to be destroyed by battle until your opponent's next End Phase (battle damage is applied normally). Tribute one "Chess Pawn" you control to destroy one Spell or Trap card on the field.
This monster can only be Special Summoned when five "Chess" Monsters with different names are in your Graveyard. You can remove those five monsters in your Graveyard from play to add one copy of "Chess World" from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand (if taken from your deck, shuffle your deck afterward). While "Chess World" is face-up on the field, when this monster is targeted for the effect of an opponent's Spell, Trap, or Monster card, you can remove two "Chess" Monsters in your Graveyard from play and lower this monster's ATK by 300 to negate that effect and destroy the card. *here are my latest additions to this archetype, the advanced chess cards*they are sometimes harder to use, but are more powerful
This monster can only attack a monster in a Monster Card Zone diagonal to the Monster Card Zone occupied by this monster. When your opponent declares a "Chess King Black" or "Chess Queen Black" that you control as an attack target, you can remove the top card of your Deck from play to redirect that attack to this monster. When this monster is destroyed as a result of battle, remove it from play to search your deck for one copy of "Chess Pawn Black" and add it to your hand. Shuffle your deck afterward. Remove that monster from play at the End Phase.
A Normal Summon of this monster can only be conducted by Releasing two DARK "Chess" Monsters that you control and removing them from play. If "Chess World" is face-up on your field, once per turn you can change this monster in face-up attack position to face-up defense position to make one other DARK "Chess" Monster you control unable to be destroyed by battle until your opponent's next End Phase (battle damage is applied normally). radio414
Maybe you could add "elephants" (the old rooks), or maybe just add a pic!!
The Fool
They kind of already have a chess based cardset that runs pretty good... Remember the Archfiends?
legendhiro
the archfiends share their names with chess pieces, but unlike mine, their effects have nothing to do with the chess pieces that they represent. but of course the archfiends were part of the inspiration for this set.Maybe you could add "elephants" (the old rooks)' date=' or maybe [img']http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/3469/262590.jpg[/img] just add a pic!! i may add more cards in the future of course, and if i do, i'll consider your idea. radio414
Do you mind if i add a few cards to the set? I made a subset based off Chinese Chess, another good game.
legendhiro
you are welcome to suggest cards of course.
radio414
Sorry if this is too much for you... Lore: This card requires thre triutes to summon. Unless "Chess World" is on the field, when this card is destroyed, destroy all your cards on the field, and take 4000 damage. As long as "Chess World" is on the field, when this card is destroyed, deal 2000 Damage to your opponent's Life Points, and destroy all cards on their side of the field and in their hand. If this card was destroyed by a spell or trap effect, special summon any "Chess" monsters used to tribute summon this card. RickiMinaj
the images are not the best, but you did a good job editing them for the black chess pieces. The card effects and the overall concept is amazing though. Keep up the good work.

Soul Immortal
Good attempt at making a set around Chess. I've seen it done before, and not the best but God Kaze did a set about Chess also, and he made really really good cards.

Ayasato-chan
Love the concept. I was planning on making one, but I doubt it would be as creative. Lovely pics and great effects. You get 10 silver medals out of 10.
