Freezyefc
Yet another theme I came up with.. seem extremely ridiculous at first glance but could work if it is used in its own theme.. presenting the Memorial theme! Some terminology used:Block - makes a selected empty Monster/Spell/Trap zone unusable for the rest of the duel (you cannot place a card on a Blocked zone, obviously)Unblock - makes a previously Blocked zone usable again [spoiler=Monsters]Theme:Memorial Tablet (Earth/3-Star/600ATK/1600DEF)Rock/EffectWhen this card is Summoned, select 1 empty S/T zone on your side of the field. That S/T zone is now Blocked. When this card attacks or is attacked, reduce the ATK of the monster it's battling by 1200 during the Damage Step only. This card is not destroyed as a result of battle when this card battles with a monster with the same ATK. (This card cannot be Summoned, unless you have at least 1 empty S/T zone.) Memorial Inscription (Earth/4-Star/800ATK/1900DEF)Rock/EffectWhen this card is Summoned, select 1 empty S/T zone on your side of the field. That S/T zone is now Blocked. During each of your Standby Phases, you can discard the top card of your deck to your graveyard to Block 1 empty S/T zone on the field. As long as this card remains face-up on the field, negate the effect of face-up Effect Monsters your opponent controls. When this card is selected as an attack target by your opponent's monster, this card is changed to Defense Position. (This card cannot be Summoned, unless you have at least 1 empty S/T zone.) Memorial Pillar (Earth/4-Star/1200ATK/2200DEF)Rock/EffectWhen this card is Summoned, select 2 empty S/T zones on your side of the field. Those S/T zones are now Blocked. By Unblocking 1 of your S/T zones, switch this card's ATK and DEF. When this card attacks, it is changed to Defense Position at the end of the Battle Phase. (This card cannot be Summoned, unless you have at least 2 empty S/T zones.) Memorial Cenotaph (Earth/5-Star/1500ATK/2400DEF)Rock/EffectIf you have exactly 2 Blocked S/T zones and 3 empty S/T zones, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. When this card is Summoned, select 3 empty S/T zones on your side of the field. Those S/T zones are now Blocked. Increase the ATK of this card by the number of Blocked S/T zones on the field x 200. Once during either player's Battle Phase, you can Unblock 1 of your S/T zones to change 1 face-up monster on the field to Defense Position. (This card cannot be Summoned, unless you have at least 3 empty S/T zones.) Memorial Menhir (Earth/8-Star/2200ATK/2800DEF)Rock/EffectIf all your S/T zones are Blocked, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. As long as this card remains face-up on the field, set Spell/Trap cards cannot be activated, and neither player can set Spell/Trap cards. Support:Memorial Tomb (Earth/2-Star/400ATK/1800DEF)Rock/EffectDuring either player's Damage Step, when a face-up "Memorial" monster you control battles, you can send this card from your hand to the Graveyard to have that monster gain ATK equal to that monster's DEF, until the End Phase. By Unblocking 1 of your S/T zones, add this card from your graveyard to your hand during your Standby Phase. Memorial Cromlech (Earth/3-Star/900ATK/1500DEF)Rock/EffectOnce per turn, you can destroy 1 monster your opponent controls. If you activated this effect, Block an unused S/T zone on your side of the field. (This effect cannot be activated if you have no empty S/T zones.) If all your S/T zones are Blocked, immediately send this card to the graveyard and inflict damage to both players equal to this card's original DEF. Memorial Tower (Earth/3-Star/300ATK/1500DEF)Rock/EffectWhen your opponent Summons a monster, discard this card from your hand and 1 Spell card from your deck. Negate that monster's Summon, and destroy it. This effect can be activated during either player's turn. If this effect is activated, Block all your empty Monster zones until the end of your next Main Phase 1. Memorial Dolmen (Earth/4-Star/1300ATK/1700DEF)Rock/EffectThis card can be Special Summoned from your hand. If you do this, your opponent can draw 1 card from their deck. When this card is Summoned, add 1 "Memorial" Field Spell from your graveyard or deck to your hand. At the start of each of your opponent's Main Phase 1, select any empty S/T zones on your opponent's side of the field, up to the number of Blocked S/T zones on your side of the field. The selected S/T zones are Blocked, for the rest of that Main Phase 1. Memorial Monolith (Earth/6-Star/1800ATK/2300DEF)Rock/EffectThis card can be Special Summoned from your hand by Unblocking 1 of your S/T zone. Once per turn, you can send up to 2 Spell cards from your hand or deck to the graveyard to Block that many empty S/T zones on the field. Memorial Megalith (Earth/7-Star/2500ATK/2700DEF)Rock/EffectThis card can be Special Summoned from your hand by Unblocking 3 of your S/T zones. Once per turn, you can select 1 Normal Spell card in your graveyard. By paying 800 LP, activate its effect. Memorial Obelisk (Earth/10-Star/2800ATK/3000DEF)Rock/EffectThis card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except if you control a "Memorial" Field Spell. When this card is Special Summoned this way, select any empty Monster or S/T zones on your opponent's side of the field, up to the number of Blocked S/T zones on your side of the field. The selected zones are Blocked. When this card is removed from the field, Unblock all zones on the field. You can only control 1 "Memorial Obelisk". NEW!!Memorial Bust (Earth/4-Star/100ATK/2400DEF)Rock/EffectIf you control at least 1 "Memorial" monster, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. When this card is Summoned, Block all your remaining empty S/T zones. By removing from play this card and Tributing 1 "Memorial" monster, Special Summon 1 "Memorial" monster from your deck. If this effect is activated, you cannot Summon any other monster this turn. Memorial Statue (Earth/1-Star/0ATK/2300DEF)Rock/EffectIf your opponent controls a monster and you control no monsters, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. If this card is Special Summoned this way, send it to the graveyard during the End Phase. Remove from play this card in your Graveyard to negate 1 attack from a monster your opponent controls. [spoiler=Spells]Memorial Mausoleum (Field Spell)This card gets these effects, based on the number of Blocked S/T zones on the field:1+ - This card cannot be destroyed by a card effect.2+ - During your Draw Phase, you can add 1 "Memorial" monster from your deck to your hand instead of conducting your normal draw.3+ - Once per turn, you can Unblock 1 of your S/T zone to Special Summon 1 "Memorial" monster from your hand.4+ - You can Unblock 1 of your S/T zone to negate the activation of a Spell or Trap Card and destroy it.5+ - Decrease the ATK of all monsters on the field by half, except "Memorial" monsters. Wrath Of The Departed (Normal Spell)This card can only be activated if you have exactly 4 Blocked S/T zones. Destroy all cards your opponent controls, then Unblock all your S/T zones. Mortician's Resentment (Normal Spell)This card can only be activated if you have 3 or 4 Blocked S/T zones. Draw 2 cards from your deck. Last Rites (Quick-Play Spell)Discard 1 card from your hand. Special Summon 1 "Memorial" monster from your graveyard. Six Feet Under (Normal Spell)When this card is sent from your hand or deck to the graveyard, select either one of the following effects:1 - Block all your remaining empty S/T zones.2 - Select any empty Monster zones on your opponent's side of the field, up to the number of Blocked S/T zones on your side of the field. The selected Monster zones are Blocked. NEW!!Lost Path (Quick-Play Spell)Pay 1000 LP. Block all your remaining empty S/T zones, until the End Phase this turn. Memorial Plateau (Field Spell)Whenever a monster(s) is Summoned in face-up Attack Position, the controller of this card can switch that monster to Defense Position by Unblocking 1 S/T zone on the field. fist of guthix
i for one like the idea. instead of the word "block" you should use the phrase "can no longer be used" Link to comment
Felix
Check other cards like Ojama King, the way you've phrased your cards is wrong. It's a nice concept though. Maybe make a lot of Fiel Spells so you can still do stuff even though the S/T Zones are blocked. Link to comment
Freezyefc
Well the reason why I phrased it as Block and Unblock is cos saying "The selected zones cannot be used" and "The selected zones can now be used" is just.. ok take an example: Memorial Cenotaph1 - If you have exactly 2 Blocked S/T zones and 3 unused S/T zones, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. (Original)2 - If you have exactly 2 unusable S/T zones and 3 unused S/T zones, you can Special Summon this card from your hand. (Modified) The modified one makes it ambiguous since unusable S/T zones means that a S/T zone either has a Set/Continuous card on it or it is made unusable. And monsters that are SS by Unblocking? No idea how to phrase it differently.. Unless someone can suggest a better phrase.. (+ 1 REP for this) BTW with that in mind, I fixed the text (This card cannot be Summoned if you have no usable S/T zones.) to (This card cannot be Summoned, unless you have at least X usable S/T zones.). Also, added a new Field Spell. Link to comment
Zowayix
Instead of "unused", perhaps use "empty"?As in,"If you have exactly 2 unusable S/T zones and 3 empty S/T zones, you can Special Summon this card from your hand." Link to comment
Freezyefc
Heh a simple but nonetheless sensible suggestion.. :) thx Zowayix!! (Goes to edit post) However any alternatives for block/unblocking in your opinion? Link to comment
Chunk1014
I doknow maybe freeze, good concept idea though (: Link to comment
