It doesn't seem like a bad deck, though a few cards I may question (like Copycat, Spell Economics and Mausoleum of the Emperor, though I can see how the two spells make a good (cheap, but good) combo). You might want to cut out a few monsters in trade for some more spells, for a better chance of gaining Spell Counters. Maybe, for Skilled Dark, you could add a couple Spell Power Grasp.

[spoiler=PS:] I'm also an old fan of Dark Magician

Copycat actually helped me out alot when I used it. My friend had told me to put Spell Economics to also help with the Dark Magic Curtain. And believe it or not I have yet to use Skilled Dark to bring out DM and I've been using him for atleast a year now. He was always destoryed before it was even able to get the second counter on him.

Do you have Magical Dimension' date=' Thousand Knives or Dark Magic Attack? If so, you might want to add them as well for DM support. You don't have to, but just consider.

I don't really like Magical Dimension. I've been looking around and hoping to find Thousand Knives and Dark Magic Attack though.

now then, there are other cards that you should try to find that help a spell counter using deck a lot, REGARDLESS of the objective.

1: toon table of contents. it can search for itself, allowing you a 3 spell repeat that ends in a monster. I suggest removing the tricky the toon monster.

2: spell power grasp. slower, but more reliable is some cases, and you don't need a monster to end it.

3: use one of the field spells. pick ether village or endymion. they help.

now for decks that use DM

1: get diamond dude. he can activate the DM spell cards that you mill off with out the required monster. and the spell card can still be activated on that next turn even if diamond dude is destroyed. and there is no cost ether in the case of curtain.

2: get good goblin housekeeping. this trap allows you to draw, and then you must take a card from your hand and place it the bottom of your deck. throwing a DM there allows sages stone or curtain to summon him, or a level 2 spellcaster to keep the apprentice set going. you can also activate it in chain to ether one of these two effects to give it a target.

is there a particularly nice way to say this is terrible?

There is a 'nicer' word for terrible' date=' and that word is 'Tronta!"

Seriously, if you can't offer anything helpful for the TC, and just want to bash on Dark Magician, maybe you shouldn't post on this thread. If Kinshoutora wants to run a DM deck, let him run it instead of telling him to chuck it.

I don't really like Magical Dimension.

Why don' you like to run Magical Dimension? It could be real handy to bring out Dark Magician. Plus it's can be use defensively and could give you a little opponent-control. [spoiler=Example] It's your opponent's turn, and he just brought out a powerful monster.

On your side of the field, you have a face up Spellcaster and a face-down Magical Dimension, while in your hand, you have another spellcaster in your hand.

Your opponent selects your spellcaster for an attack. Magical Dimension being a Quick-Play spell, you counter by playing this, tributing your field-spellcaster for your hand-spellcaster. Afterwards, your spell allows you to destroy a monster on the field, so you use the effect to destroy your opponent's monster, leaving him open (unless he Special Summons a monster) for a direct attack.

First: I'm a girl.

But thanks for pointing that out. I never really looked at it like that...

Tronta:

Ok first I'll start by saying thank you for actually suggesting something now.

And I've got the tuners but I haven't added them yet because I don't have many Syncros and I would have a terrible time bringing them out (Odd numbers in an even deck).
