Axle C.
~This is my first FanFic ever. My friend .:Midnight Thief:. told me to post it here. Constructive critisism is appreciate. Note: This FanFic does not take place in current time.~
For centuries, blood has stained the ground, but never this much. It is currently a dark age. A group known as "Shadow" started there quest for power 13 years ago. A young boy by the name of Axle Comuteza was caught in the middle of an invasion of his peaceful town called Tero. His family was killed and he was made a slave for Shadow member Kai Krest. After 13 years, Shadow currently control 85% of the world, and their group is spreading fast. But there are those who are planning against Shadow. Those like Axle Comuteza. The Renegade begins now.
Chapter One: A New Life The fire burned bright as the violent flames burned everything they touched. Blood splattered on the ground as desperate cries for help echoed in the small valley. Two small children, a boy and a girl, lay on the ground, crying. The boy was about the age of 5. The girl was no older then 4. The small village known as Tero was being destroyed. “Mommy!” the boy cried out as he witnessed his mom being brutally beaten in front of him. The boy tried to run up to his mom, but was kicked in the head before he could get near her. A blood stained man stood in front of the little boy, a smirk on his face. “Well, well, well. Are we trying to play hero, little boy?” the man asked as he grabbed the boy by the shirt and lifted him in the air. “Well, if you want to play hero… I guess you’ll have to take the hero sacrifice. You see, every hero loses a family member or two. I guess that’s the case here,” he said with a maniacal tone. “Should it be the loving mother that dies first, or the younger, innocent sister that dies first? They are both such wonderful choices,” he said, letting out a slight chuckle. “Well… mother has already taken enough abuse for now… so I guess the unlucky gal is… the little sister!” the man exclaimed with a sinister grin. The man lifted his blade high into the air with his left hand, still holding the boy with the right. The man quickly swung down, impaling the little girl. “No!” the boy cried out through tears. The boy began to flail his arms and legs around, hitting the man. He swung his head forward, slamming his head into the man’s head. The man growled before throwing the boy into the ground. The man stepped on the small boy’s stomach. “Look, you little brat, you wanted to be the hero! You got what was coming to you! Next time, don’t try to be the hero,” the man hissed out of as he lifted his foot from the boy’s stomach. “Actually… on second thought… I think I might take you with me. You know, make you my personal slave and all of that good stuff,” said the man as he grabbed the boy and began to walk away. The man stopped and looked at all the dead bodies and all of the blood around him. He smiled as he stared at the fire. “This is just the first of many wins,” he said as he looked at the boy. The man swung his fist and knocked out the boy. He began to walk away, pleased with himself. “Axle!” the mom cried out as he grabbed onto the man’s leg. “Let him go, please… let him go! I beg you!” she pleaded. She cried as she held onto the man’s leg tightly. “P… P… Please… let Axle go…” she stammered as the tears on her face spilled onto the ground. “So… his name is Axle, huh? Well, lady, I’m sorry to say that… I won’t be doing that!” the man yelled as he stomped on the back of the woman’s head, knocking her out. He walked away, leaving her for dead. ~13 years later~ It was dark down there. It was a dark and damp. A door opened and light quickly flooded the dungeon room as the same blood covered man entered the room. A low moan was heard. “Get up, Axle! It’s time for you to work!” the man yelled, taking a key out of his pocket. “Yes master Kai,” a raspy voice replied. A bloody, beat up boy emerged from the shadows of the dungeon corner, shackles wrapped around his wrists and ankles. He had a broken look on his face. His dirty, red and black hair fell down far enough to reach his shoulders. His hair covered his eyes. In light, the boy appeared to be very pale. The boy stared down at a skeleton on the ground, not making eye contact with the man. The man, Kai, approached Axle. “Did you have a good nights sleep, little Axle?” he asked, chuckling a bit. “You know, kid… it felt great when I stomped on your mom’s skull… the feel of the bones crack…” he said, a smirk on his face. Kai took the key in his hand and inserted it in the shackles. He turned the key, releasing Axle from the shackles around his wrists and his ankles. Kai smirked as he stared at Axle for a minute. “Ok, Axle… I have a lot for you to do today,” he told him. “Yes master Kai,” Axle replied. He stared at Kai for a moment before walking outside of the dungeon. The light blinded him and he stopped for a moment, his eyes closed. Axle was pushed forward a little, forcing him to keep going. Kai walked in front of Axle, signaling for Axle to follow. Axle looked around at the surroundings before following. Everything around him was destroyed. There were dead trees and animals all around him. Trails of blood were on the ground. Kai and Axle stopped at what appeared to be a destroyed chateau. Kai stared at the house for a moment. It was old and decrepit. The windows were shattered and the door was destroyed. He looked over at Axle, who was currently confused. “Axle… clean and search this chateau. We recently found it and killed everyone in. You’ll be searching it for any valuable items and stuff like that. You will also clean it. This includes taking out all of the heavy things that are destroying this building. We will make this building a new set up point,” Kai explained, taking his gaze off of Axle. He let out a small chuckle. “They were so weak… they reminded me of you, Axle,” he said. “What if I don’t want to search it? What if I refuse, master Kai?” Axle asked, almost mocking Kai. Axle rested his eyes on Kai, half smirking. “What if I decide to disobey you? Then what will happen?” he asked. Suddenly, he felt a blade slash his arm. He held his arm in pure agony as blood flowed down his arm and touched the ground. The wound hurt, but it was not fatal. “That’s what will happen you brat,” Kai said. “I’ll be back in 3 hours… and remember… I have guards set up all over this place, so don’t even try to run,” he explained. He looked at Axle for a moment before kicking him in the stomach, causing him to collapse onto the ground. “See you soon,” he yelled out as he walked away. • • • Axle collapsed to his knees, his body aching and burning. He held his arm in pain. He stared at the wound on his arm for a moment before letting out a slight chuckle. “I’m going to live like this forever… aren’t I?” he asked himself. 2 and one half hours had passed since Kai left. Axle hadn’t found anything of value, but he did clear out a lot of ruble. He looked around at the chateau and let out a sigh as he got to his feet. He walked around and looked at pictures that were hanging on the walls. He stopped at one of a girl. He stared at the picture for a moment. The girl was young. She looked about 3 or 4. She looked familiar. “It’s probably nothing,” Axle said, sighing. Axle closed his eyes. He began to think for a minute. How many times has he tried to run from his life? How many times has he failed? Why was he thinking of these stupid questions? “I hate this place,” Axle muttered as he opened his eyes and looked around. He stood still and didn’t move for a brief moment. Then, he went back to working. ̉ • • • Awhile passed before Kai entered the chateau. He smiled and stared at an exhausted Axle. “Good boy… did you find anything important?” “No, I did not master Kai. I have one question, though. Who lived here?” Axle asked. “No one of importance, little Axle,” Kai responded as he brushed back his long, black hair. His sword was in its scabbard tied onto his back. Something else was tied onto his back. Something wrapped around in bandages was tied to his back. Axle ignored it, thinking it didn’t really matter. “Now, Axle… I’ve got something to tell you. Something important,” Kai said. Axle let out a low groan. “What is it? I bet it’s not even important…” Axle said, glaring at Kai. Suddenly, Kai handed Axle a canteen. Axle glared at Kai for a minute before drinking it. “Axle… I’m going to tell you… about what’s going on out there. Just so you know more about me… and so you will know not to oppose me. I’m going to tell you who I am… and who I work for.”
Chapter 2: “So There's More of You?” Axle kept his eyes locked with Kai's. Axle stared deep into Kai's, hateful, bloodshot blue eyes. Then, Axle realized that Kai wasn't lying. He really did have something important to tell Axle. Axle closed his eyes and rested his chin on his hand, sighing. He was sweaty and exhausted. He really didn't want to listen to anything Kai was going to say, but he knew he had no choice. “What are you talking about?” Axle finally asked. Kai let out a light chuckle, a sinister grin on his face. “What am I talking about?” he asked leaning up against a wall. Kai kicked a nearby chair over to Axle. “Sit. Trust me, you're going to want to,” he said, the grin never leaving his face. Axle simply ignored the chair as he looked away from Kai. “Now, Axle... remember that day 13 years ago? When I attacked your village?” Kai asked, feeling good about himself. Axle closed his eyes. He could see the fire. Its violent flame's. The people running in terror, trying to protect their loved ones. He could see the red blood splatter. Then, he saw his sister getting killed. That image replayed in his mind. Over and over again. Then, he snapped. Axle screamed as he quickly leaped at Kai, fists clenched. Axle threw a punch at Kai face, but Kai quickly reacted. He grabbed Axle's wrist, rested his hand on Axle's chest, and lifted Axle into the air. He slammed Axle into the wall that was behind him. The pain instantly rushed through Axle's spine as he back was slammed into the stone wall of the chateau. “Sheesh, calm down, man!” Kai exclaimed. Kai rested his foot on Axle's throat, ready to apply pressure if necessary. “Now, calm down, Axle. Stop struggling and listen to what I've got to say,” he ordered, his same grin from before reappearing on his face. Axle nodded and Kai slowly lifted his foot off of Axle's throat. Axle didn't dare to try to fight Kai again. He was too tired to do anything anyways.“Now, Axle... I'm part of an organization. A dangerous one,” Kai told Axle, feeling proud of himself. Axle stared at Kai for a moment, his face stern. “So there's more of you?” he asked. Kai nodded, brushing back his hair. Suddenly, a smirk appeared on Axle's face. “Talk about a party of pricks,” he said, letting out slight chuckle. It wasn't the first time Axle had chuckled, yet for once it wasn't a dry, lifeless chuckle. Kai then laughed. “Oh, that's a good one!” Kai exclaimed, patting Axle on the head. “I should use that some time,” he said, staring at Axle. “Anyways, this group is named Shadow. I'm not really sure why it's called that, so don't ask,” he began to explain. Axle began ponder what Kai had been telling him. Could it be true? Could Kai just be in some group? Does this mean that there are people even more dangerous than Kai out there? Axle closed his eyes for a minute before opening them again. Axle finally managed to get to his feet. “So... what's the goal of Shadow?” he asked, his eyes locking with Kai's. Kai simply laughed at Axle's question. To him, it was nothing but a stupid question. “What do we want? Well, of course, we want power. A lot of it. In fact, we have a lot of it. But we aren't going to stop until we have all of it. We are split up into different factions. So far, we have 10 factions. The number of people in each faction varies, but there is always a leader. I happen to be the leader of a faction,” he explained. “So, I take it that you are far up in the ranks?” Axle asked, assuming that he was, due to the fact that he wiped out a whole town. “Actually, no. I'm not. Actually... I'm the lowest rank leader. I'm the weakest leader...” Kai said, letting out a deep sigh. He looked down at the ground for a few minutes. Axle just stood there, staring at Kai. He wasn't sure what exactly to do. “That's enough for today. Let's get out of here,” Kai muttered, his voice sounding distressed. Axle stared at Kai for a moment more before nodding. He had never heard Kai sound like that. “Go!” Kai suddenly screamed at Axle, forcing Axle to move on. • • • It was all so familiar. Axle woke up on the cold, hard, damp dungeon floor. Axle tried to look around, but it was pitch black in the dungeon. Then, as usual, the same light of day flooded the raw, dark room. Axle stood up as usual as Kai called out his name. Everything was once again the same. Axle let out a long yawn and walked over to the door that lead to the outside world. Kai was standing there. It took Axle a moment to realize one thing was different. Kai hadn't put the shackles on him the night before. “Come on, kid. I've decided that I'm going to have you work on the chateau again. You're the strongest slave we've got, so, come on,” Kai said, grabbing Axle by his rag like shirt and pulled him forward. He let go of Axle's shirt and began to push him forward. Axle began to think about what Kai had just said. Axle hadn't known that there were more slaves other than him, and he defiantly didn't know he was the strongest. Axle blinked a few times, his eyes adjusting to the outside light. He heard people arguing and blades clashing. He looked around. It was just the same carnage as usual. Axle was once again lead down to the old, broken down chateau. “So you just want me to get to work?” he asked as they entered the building. Kai nodded slowly. “I'll be back in about 3 hours to check on you. You should find some bags in there that you can put the rubble into. Now, get to work,” he demanded as he left the chateau. Axle looked around and sighed. Why was it that this place was so familiar to Axle? Axle stared at the decrepit, moss covered wall which held the picture of the familiar girl. He couldn't help but stare. That girl... that 4 year old girl looked so familiar. Axle shook his head and stood up, realizing that he had only started on the main room the day before. He decided to go and check out all of the other rooms. Axle walked through the halls of the chateau. Axle, not knowing exactly what room he should begin to work on. Axle turned into the room nearest to him. He stopped and looked around it. It was a simple room. A bed, toys, and clothes. That was about it. Then again, half of the room was covered in rubble. Axle sighed as he walked over to the rubble. It was Axle's job to clear out any ruble. He scooped up about 10 to 15 rocks in his arms. He walked over to one of the bags that Kai had been talking about, dropping the cold stones into them. Axle sighed after what seemed like 40 minutes had passed. This room must have been bigger then he realized. He had already filled up two bags, yet there were still many stones filling up the room. He lay down on the bed, his arms burning in agony. He hadn't realized it until just now. This chateau was unique. It was made out of both stone and wood. He sat up and looked on ahead at the ruble. He was stuck. There was a boulder blocking his way. It was too big and heavy for him to even attempt to move it. He lay down on the bed for about 10 more minutes before getting back up. Then, he realized something he hadn't before. There was a name sewn into the pillow on the bed. A last name. “Comuteza”. Where has he heard that name before. Then, it felt like a boulder had just been smashed over his head. Axle collapsed, holding his head. “Honey, are you okay?” the sweet voice of the 30 year old woman asked. A small red haired boy lay on the ground, crying. Blood was coming out of a cut on his right arm. “Come on little Axy,” she said, kissing the small boy on the forehead. She held a wet rag in her hand. She then proceeded to wipe the blood off of the boys, Axle's, arm. “Mommy! It stings!” he cried out as he finally stopped crying. His little sister stood next to him, staring at the crying Axle. “Come on, honey. Just calm down. It couldn't have hurt that bad. I mean, you're a Comuteza! That cut was nothing!” his mom said happily as she hugged Axle. Axle panted. What the hell had just happened? That boy... the crying one... that was him. That means, he's a Comuteza. All those years trapped as a slave. He hadn't heard his last name in awhile. He had forgot his own last name. “Wait... this... is my house? That means... this village... that I'm in... this is... Tero. I can't believe it...” Axle said, closing his eyes as he clenched his fists. All the torture, all the abuse, all the mocking. Now, Axle found himself in his own house. The one where half of his family was slaughtered. Why had Kai brought him here? “He's... mocking me, again...” he whispered to himself. All was quiet. Nothing moved. Then, it happened. “Ah!” he screamed in a fit of rage. He kicked a wooden wall, breaking it as his foot suddenly added pressure to it. He continued to scream as he grabbed the bed. With hidden strength that he didn't believe he had, Axle picked up the bed, chucking it at a wall. The bed smashed threw the wall into the room across from the one he was currently in. Axle didn't even stop to think as he started punching the walls and then the pile of rubble. “Why does he mock me!?” he cried out as he began to repeatedly began to punch the solid, black boulder. As his fists slammed into the boulder, he could feel the blood start covering his knuckles. Then, he collapsed, panting heavily. Tears streamed down his soft, pale face. Blood now covered his entire hand. The red liquid splattered on the ground. Axle managed to make it to his feet as he continued to pant heavily. He looked at the hole that the bed had made. He walked through it, not believing that he had done that. Axle stared in amazement at the bed that had made it into the next room. The bed had made a hole in the ground. Then, he noticed it. There was a handle underneath the wood flooring. He walked over and fell to his knee's, looking down the hole. There was a large hidden wood door. Axle stared at the door for a moment. Then, he reached down, his curiosity getting the better of him. He grabbed the handle. Then, the burning sensation spread through his blood covered hand. He quickly let go of the burning handle, grunting. He grabbed it again and quickly pulled up. Axle pulled back in shock, gulping. He couldn't believe his eyes. Swords. Two swords. There was a note tied to one of them. Axle grabbed the note and read it aloud. “Kill them...” Axle didn't know who wrote the note, and he didn't know why. But he knew one thing. These sword... they were his now.

fenrir
Meh, prologue seemed cliche. Generally the plot seems cliche. And for some odd reason, reminds me of StarWars. O.o That's probably just me. I do, however, like the writing. Keep up with the good work ^^
