How stupid Is Nintendo?

Wait' date=' that sentence is an oxymoron. - [b']No it isn't. Clearly, you don't understand the definition of Oxymoron.[/b]'Tis called a joke

The PS3 has maybe 1 good game (MGS4) and Eye of Judgement which has s4!++y technology and should have had something like it for yugioh years ago. - So the only good games are apparently Shooter games? Because you missed Assassin's Creed, Littlebig Planet, The Eternal Sonata Remake, Bioshock (another shooter), Heavenly Sword (short but sweet), Mirror's Edge, and the upcoming RPGs that are going to be hitting it.Assassin's Creed was repetative, Little Big Planet got dull after a little while, I didn't even like the original Eternal Sonata, Bioshock for the 360 was amazing, never played Heavenly Sword so I could not possibly make a comment about it, and I forgot Mirror's Edge so there

The sixaxis controller is awkward to use the motion sensitivity, and is basically the revised PS1 controller. - PS2 Controller. And see, there's an option on all PS3 games that lets you adjust motion sensitivity, so that it suits your liking.I grew up with the PS1 controler with a joystick. And using the motion sensitivity is still awkward due to the fact that you are moving a plane as apposed to a point, which isn't very ergonomic

And even though it has graphics cards coming out of the wazoo, it still looks like hell on even an HD. - Have you tried configuring the HD settings via the *gasp* Settings menu? It could also be an issue with your TV. I have mine plugged into an HD TV, and it looks gorgeous.Again, you take me for an idiot. The only difference I have found in transition from standard to HD is found in everything else that I have transferred. Yeah, it looks a little better, but not enough to matter.

The Wii, on the other hand, does not have to pretend it is something it isn't. Nintendo says here you go, hands us a controller, and we have fun. - Yay! Let's go play Tennis, Cook things, do chores, make stupid chibis, and get frustrated when the sensor decides to randomly misread your directions! I'M HAVING SO MUCH FUN.You forgot starting a rock band, beating up friends, (the stupid chibi thing is on the 360), and the fact that the sensor isn't that screwy

And as I have said earlier, the entire internet thing can be attributed to 3 reasons: 1)Nintendo is still new at this, and couldn't be bothered to copy Microsoft

All things considered, it probably should have.Copying other's ideas isn't what Nintendo is about

2)US wifi sucks

PS3 and 360 beg to differTrust me, most wifi systems in the US pale in comparison to even Sweden. Damn you Sweden! You never cease to piss me off!

3)Nintendo went with simplicity and anonomity.

Which was clearly a mistake.Because you really want pedophiles to track down kids easier.

Bolded replies for the win?

Yeah, but italics are better.

Although I will say that the PS3 Bioshock is just as (if not more) badass, thanks to the enhanced visual clarity.

And using the motion sensitivity is still awkward due to the fact that you are moving a plane as apposed to a point, which isn't very ergonomic Most of the games only involve motion control during specific moments of Gameplay. It's not as though it's a constant thing. And when it does appear, the sensitivity adjustment works just fine.

I don't think you're an idiot. I just think you might have probably overlooked a simple feature that's there to make your life easier. It's happened to the best of us. And again it comes down to preference - I for one am quite satisfied with the visual feats that the PS3 can accomplish.

And Brawl is just about the only saving grace I've seen from the Wii. =/ And maybe it's just mine, but the Sensor is very screwy. Plus, I like to be able to lounge around when playing my games, in any position I see fit - that gets limited when you have to make sure the wiimote maintains sensory contact with the Sensor.

=/ I don't sheet myself at how awesome Bioshock is. I said it was badass to look at. Visually entertaining. To be honest, I'm not a big fan of shooting games anyway (except for Touhou).

I have no idea what you're talking about with Synchronization - not a single person I know has trouble moving their hands for the PS3's motion control.

And I never said it was difficult, just annoying. When I'm playing my PS3, I can lay long-ways on the couch, hands in my lap, with the control facing the ceiling. Can't do that on the wii.

=O My relaxation is very important to me.

As for the Pedo comment, again, I doubt it. It doesn't matter what a system is geared toward - I have heard many, many, MANY adolescent voices on both PS3 and 360 - often times screeching for chocolate milk. They are just as prevalent there as they are on the Wii. And there have still been no Pedo cases I have ever heard of.

Try to make a game console then talk. It's not easy you know.

Nope.

Obviously they are stupid enough to make one of the top selling games of all time. I mean c'mon' date=' why wouldn't they be stupid?

This isn't about gaming. When it comes to games, Wii is beaten. When it comes to gameplay (most notable the Wii Balance Board, Sensored Controls and the rumored Room Sensors), Wii beats.

I agree that the WiFi on Nintendo is old, but it evens out with other aspects.

=/ It's annoying' date=' but not unbearable.

[/quote']

Same with all things people complain about on the Internet.

Nintendo rocks, thats a small problem, but yes anoying.

Annoying, but bearable. Good statement.

I never said it was valid, but that could be a thought that nintendo took into consideration.

okay...lemme rephrase this.

Wii

Pros-

-Controllers are nice idea, but execution is phail.

-Free online multiplayer (but ps3 does also. so phail.)

-Cheap

(that's really all the pros I can see xD)

Cons-

-Mostly Kid Games

-Horrible lag on games played thru wifi on WPA networks.

-Graphically Ass Licked.

-Makes a lot of god damn noise >.>

-Multiplayer is only on the bad games (like you, wii music) (but SSBB owns)

-Not alot of games use the motion controller to its full potential.

A wii birth (birth of the wii)

Mr. Miyamoto wakes up from bed. And goes on a porn site that features nothing but American stars. He says to himself- "Wow, Americans are GROSSLY fat assier than we Japanese. I wonder if I could start a game system that is cheap, boring, kiddy, so funked up that only americans will buy! I'll even make a bunch of fitness titles that dont even do exercises so that those who actually care might buy a system for that just!"

Not perfectly written but it proves a point.

Wii=Nintendo scam.

Too bad Americans LOVE to think they're being fit without actually doing work. Its why DDR did so well. Its why Wii does so well. Its why Diet Coke exists.

Allow me to be quite frank. The Wii itself does NOT suck. There are games that can clearly show that it is great. The REASON that the Wii "sucks" in people's eyes is simply because of 3rd party. Allow me to briefly sum it up.

1) When the Wii wasn't released yet, 3rd parties pretty much thought it was gonna do horribly.

2) When the Wii began selling like hotcakes, not well known 3rd parties (or third parties that don't make many good games) tried to make a quick buck by producing crappy shovelware, hoping people would buy it.

3) It stacked up. FAST.

4) Nintendo seems to pay more attention to the DS than the Wii, so it doesn't receive as much care as the DS. Probably because both systems are basically ATM machines, so Nintendo doesn't have to worry too much.

5) Also, well known 3rd parties are also often giving the Wii the cold shoulder, because they also pay more attention to the DS. The only one that really gives it any sort of good treatment is SEGA.

6) As a result, the ratio of good:bad became overwhelming in the negative side, and as a result, it gets it bad rep.

It's not so much that the Wii is bad, it's that the companies that can make really good games for the Wii aren't going for it (that, and SEGA is BS'ing Sonic on the Wii.)

NOW, as for the topic at hand, Nintendo isn't really stupid. The thing is, they're thinking with their wallets rather than their heads. The Wii and DS are letting Nintendo swim in oceans filled with money. Therefore, it's as if they don't feel the need too make many games for the Wii, seeing as how apparently, they do enough for the DS.

One point where I do see Nintendo being stupid, though, is WHY THE HELL AREN'T THEY RELEASING EARTHBOUND TO THE U.S.!?!? I don't care about any copyright laws, or what the creator of Earthbound believes, or that f'ing clock enemy in Threed. The longer it isn't here, the more fans get pissed off. And the more the fans get pissed off, the more they bash Nintendo. It's funny, really. I remember one dude on ScrewAttack who said "Nintendo fanboys are the only ones who'll bash their company more than the other fanboys will bash the same company." Or something like that. And y'know what? It's true. But that's because Nintendo isn't really listening to their fans. DAMMIT NINTENDO, USE YOUR HEADS FOR ONCE. STOP LETTING THE WII GET BAD REP. YOU CAN CHANGE THAT. GET OFF YOUR LAZY BUTTS AND START CHUGGING OUT GOOD GAMES LIKE YOU USED TO. THE WII IS DESPARATELY IN NEED OF IT. LISTEN. TO. YOUR. FANS.

GIVE US EARTHBOUND ON VC

GIVE US MOTHER 3

MOTHER 1 ON VC WOULD BE NICE TOO

GIVE US SSB VC

GIVE US MAJORA'S MASK VC

GIVE US MORE SPACE ON THE WII. I'M PRETTY SURE THE SD THING ON 4.0 ISN'T GONNA CUT IT.

Give us......other stuff. I don't feel like writing in complete caps any more.

Also, Capcom. Give us Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on the Wii. We want it. I know what you said. Find a way around it. I don't care how. Make it 8-bit for all I care (actually....that might not sound like such a bad idea. :D)

I don't feel like going on any further. I'm gettin' lazy.

Also, this belongs in video games.

At Prometheus and Zexaeon's little chat I was quite amused.

ZOMG NERDS ARGUING ABOUT VIDEO GAME SYSTEMS AND TRYING TO SEEM INTELIGENT USING "BIG WORDS" AND SUCH ON A FORUM ABOUT A CHILDRENS CARD GAME ZOMFG WHATS NEW!?

Technically speaking, yeah, I'm a nerd.

But I'm a damn sexy nerd. With a booming sex life.

So suck on that. =P

LISTEN. TO. YOUR. FANS.

Which fans? Gamers abandoned Nintendo first, Nintendo owes them nothing. I have to hand it to nintendo, they've created quite a fanbase from almost nothing.

Wii bashing threads are just getting lame. Here's a list of fine games for the system:

Boom Blox

Chocobo's Dungeon

Deadly Creatures

De Blob

Disaster: Day of Crisis

Elebits

Eledees

House of The Dead:Overkill

Madworld

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption

Super Smash Bros Brawl

Tales of Symphonia: Knights of Ratatosk

Twilight Princess

Wario Ware: Smooth Moves

Also, you missed No More Heroes. Hopefully, we'll soon be able to add The Conduit and Punch Out Wii the that list.

I knew I was missing something. I also believe the opposite, anyone who swears they'd buy a nintendo console if they made it more appealing to "hardcore gamers" I'd say 80% of those people need to stop fooling themselves.

I like how they neglect to mention that 30% of the games don't use motion sensitivity, and are not for wii fit. ^_^
