I find the difference between religion and mythology to be non-existant. In fact, though I'm an atheist, I consider Greek "mythology" to be more plausible than the Christian "religion". Greek mythology is by far the best, by the way.

Ah memes. Made by awesome' date=' used by noobs, ignored by ignorant.

And I bet you can't guess what my favorite Greek Myth is.

Prometheus giving fire to man?

Hell no! Where did you get that idea> Prometheus was stupid as hell. I already said it was Heracles killing the hydra (hence the drawing earlier). God!

Seriously, though, ~Twisted~ is right

I feel like such an idiot. How could I forget the powerful Thor and the glory of Valhalla?

So wait, you think a mountian (that they could see the top of) with all of the gods is more plausible than a man who rose from the dead? HAVEN"T YOU WATCHED ANY ZOMBIE MOVIES?

I didn't say it was more plausible than zombies. I said it was more plausible than one being. It's like if you saw a house. One guy said a team of people did it. One guy says one person did it. Who do you believe?

Anyhoo' date=' I believe in most every religion. They all have basis in logic, amirite?

[/quote']

No religion is based on superstition that a higher power is at work and were helpless to our actions for there all part of a master plan

Logic is the exact opposite. It centers on what can be proven instead of superstition

And yet, if you put them together, you can explain some twisted stuff.

My personal belief, of course.

Besides, isn't religion explaining the unexplainable in the best way possible?

Yes you can but as god isnt a physical being it cant be logically proven to be real

As for this tread Greco-Roman Mythology is incredible

Until we hit alternate dimensions. ;D

But I'm too tired/lazy to argue my point anymore.

No. We're debating illogical approaches to logical ideas.

So today' date=' during Lit, we were told for extra credit we could draw a picture of a god/mythological creature.

I decided to do the hydra.

I gave it tons of heads and in large font I wrote, "IT's OVER 9000!!!1!!"

Discuss mythology.

I want to be in your class.D=

I'm on a literature section but we hardly talk about mythology.

The creation myth in Christianity talks about some magical 7-days creation.

The one in Greek mythology uses nature as the basis of everything. First there was the Chaos (compared to "the word") and then Gaia and the other nature gods emerge out of it. I <3 Greek cosmology.

Both are not to be taken seriously, unless you're a really fundamentalist Christian or Neo-Pagan, but on a symbolical level, I prefer the Greek narrative too.

Oh and in general, religion and mythology are on an equal level for me. Both can be very interesting but I don't believe into any of this. My favourites are Mesopotamian, Roman and Etruscan mythology though.
