Yankee
I just recently had a delightful conversation with technical support. I felt like I'd share the conversation with you all. [spoiler=Call to tech support]Tech Lady: Hello. Model number please. Me: MW3847 Tech Lady: Ok. Whats your problem? Me: I've bought two of your MP3 players in two days. I returned the last one, being told it was defective. I bought another under the same idea. I keep having the same problems. When I try to add a song, a pop up appears, saying, "The file cannot be copied because of write-protection". The music I am adding is not write protected, I've made sure. Tech Lady: The only way that would happen is if the music was copyrighted. Me: No. I know for a fact that they are not copyrighted. I downloaded the songs from sites that would tell me if they are copyrighted or not. Tech Lady: The only way that would happen is if the music was copyrighted. Me: Really, they aren’t. I know for a fact that they are not. I can give you the site names, and the song names if you want. Tech Lady: The only way that would happen is if the music was copyrighted. The model you have will only not allow a download if the songs are copyrighted. Me: They aren't. Tech Lady: That’s the only way I know of that it can happen. *End Call* This happened just a few minutes ago. I really do know for a fact that the songs are not copyrighted. Discuss your own adventures with tech support.
Brushfire
Ooh, this reminds me of my convo with HostGator Support. I waited 20 minutes for the reply "I'm deeply sorry, but I do not know what to do".Some support you are, fix my site. >.> At least... that's what I thought then. I fixed it myself in the end. Tefached
tech support fails, only paid to just repeat the same message.... really, we could save money if we just set them all up to computers that repeated the message too. This is why i fix everything myself...and why i no longer have nice things.

Silver Lining
Meh'. Both, I suppose. It depends on how you look at it. I mean, from my eyes, I think it's hysterical that the tech guy repeated 'The only way that would happen is if the music was copyrighted.' three times. And seriously, if I were you, I would just go back to the store and beat up the first person I saw, and run away laughing manically, "YOU DESERVED THAT!" even though it wasn't their fault you're crappy mp3 player didn't work. Honestly dude, you deserve more respect than some fatass tech supporters telling you what you did wrong.
Jericho
I hate calling when the tech support isn't even in the US. It's in freaking India or some other bullshit. Go ahead and call Microsoft tech support. Tell them that your computer keeps freezing. You'll get some Indian guy to tell you to turn it off and back on again. Exiro
OMG you just spoke with a robot! :o Also, you should've said that you successfully tested it with another MP3 player to prove that they weren't copyrighted.
Felix Culpa
Well, my conversation with Tech Support isn't nearly as aggrivating, but I was working with my AT&T phone, but it stopped working. AND even better, we didn't have the phone number to the tech support. So we called Verizon and asked for the number of AT&T tech support.
