Basically it's monsters are Summoned by first removing it from play in your hand and placing it face-down (this is known as Chrono Summoning, which can only be done once per turn.). This is similar to Setting a monster, as you won't know what monster it is. If you do this, you cannot Normal Summon for that turn. Then, during a certain number of Standby Phases (depending on the card), it is Special Summoned to the field (you can negate the monster's Summon at this point). Sure, it seems like a bad version of Geminis, and it's slower to boot, but it's effect are definitely more powerful. Here's some examples: [spoiler=Monsters]Alien Envoy (Wind/5-Star/2200ATK/1300DEF)Reptile/ChronoThis card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by Chrono Summon. During your 2nd Standby Phase, Special Summon this card to the field from your Removed From Play Zone. When this card is Special Summoned this way, place 5 A-Counters on this card. Once per turn, you can move up to 2 A-Counters from a face-up monster on the field to another face-up monster. (If a monster with an A-Counter battles an "Alien" monster, it loses 300 ATK and DEF for each A-Counter during damage calculation only.) Chrono Paladin (Light/8-Star/2800ATK/2000DEF)Warrior/ChronoThis card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by Chrono Summon. During your 3rd Standby Phase, Special Summon this card to the field from your Removed From Play Zone. Any monster this card destroys by battle is removed from play and placed face-down. When this card is destroyed, it is removed from play. Serpent Lord - Hydra (Water/9-Star/3000ATK/2800DEF)Sea-Serpent/ChronoThis card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by Chrono Summon. During your 5th Standby Phase, Special Summon this card to the field from your Removed From Play Zone. When this card is Special Summoned this way, destroy all other cards on the field. This card cannot attack during the turn it is Summoned. During each of your opponent's End Phases, destroy 1 card on the field. Harbinger Of Apocalypse (Dark/10-Star/0ATK/0DEF)Fiend/EffectThis card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by Chrono Summon. During your 15th Standby Phase, Special Summon this card to the field from your Removed From Play Zone. When this card is Special Summoned this way, you win the Duel. [spoiler=Spells/Traps]Future Pod (Normal Spell)Pay 1500 LP. Select 1 Chrono monster from your deck. Remove it from play and place it face down (this counts as a Chrono Summon). Chrono Gate (Continuous Spell)If you Chrono Summoned this turn, and you control no monsters, you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower monster from your hand. Monsters Special Summoned by this effect cannot attack during the turn it is Summoned. Chrono Vortex (Continuous Trap)As long as this card remains face-up on the field, the Special Summon of a Chrono monster cannot be negated. IMO, you shouldn't make em new monsters, so much as just a series of monsters with effects that do somthing likeYou can remove this card in your hand from play. During your Xth Standby Phase after using this effect, Special Summon this card. where x would be the level or something ;3At the very least, it wouldn't be a new type of summon, just another sub-type Link to comment

I just thought of how it would be if it was a new Summon mechanic, cos I have a theme in mind which have monsters that are Special Summoned via the Chrono Summon way. Maybe just like what you said, except with some changes: You can remove this card in your hand from play and place it face-down. If you activated this effect, you cannot Normal Summon this turn. During your Xth Standby Phase after this effect is activated, Special Summon this card to the field from your Removed From Play Zone. Link to comment
Kroama Posted May 17, 2009 Report Share Posted May 17, 2009 sureeee make it so obviously better T.T... but yeah, you could make it a Chrono subtype, it could be called whatever but it wouldn't really be a new way to summon, just new effects... a special summon is a special summon where-ever it's from.Very interesting idea, i actually liked playing cards like these in magic, and i think with the right support (like something that passes turn counts) it could become something great xD Link to comment
