Considering that Icy actually lives in Hawaii, I wouldn't argue.

Thanks Tea.

Also, my comment was to current times.

Not back in WW2 Days.

=.= Possessing weapons that should be criminal for the catastrophic death toll hey caused to innocent civillians does not make America a good fighter. It makes the Presidents at the time that those weapons were launched a sore loser.

Something like that should have been a last resort at best, and we had plenty of other resorts we could have taken.

If you are honestly taking pride in America for killing innocent people with a WOMD, you need to reevaluate your stance on life in general, Father Wolf.

Also, the Hawaiian volcanoes aren't that big of a deal. Only a couple are active, and they have warning systems in place for if one should happen to erupt.

@Topic: It was a well-planned attack. You guys keep making excuses, like "It took America by surprise", or "Everyone was mellow that day", or "If the ships were active, they wouldn't have been as succesful", but ya know what?

That's sort of the point.

It was a well-planned atack because they did it at a point in time where the fleets were inactive, and the attack was completely unexpected. What did you expect them to do, call ahead of time and say "Hey Hawaii, we're going to attack you next week at Pearl Harbor. Be ready, so it'll be a fair fight."

Don't be ridiculous.

The nukes used in WWII were excessive, and at the same time they are laughably weak compared to the weapons available now.

It is interesting that a major factor in averting a world-shattering war was that everyone's weapons became so stupidly overpowered in such a short span of time that we didn't have a chance to kill each other off before we reached the point where any all-out war would result in both sides losing everything. Had our weapons remained weaker, perhaps things would have turned out much worse...

However, this is merely irony. Do away with nukes altogether, and you no longer need to worry about their power levels.

Actually, with all the warnings Japan had sent previously, it was a surprise America hadn't responded.

The "war declaration" or "possible severing of relations" was supposed to be delivered before the attack.

americans know how to fight they hit japan with 2 nukes[/thread]

good point. this thread can be locked now

False: The nuclear weapons were excessive; America was being a b**** by demanding unconditional surrender anyhow.

you know pearl harbor had advance warning of aircraft flying in from the north. the thing is that when the picked it up on the raidar they thought it was their ppl coming in for refueling or something i cant remember right now. like they said, "The japs roused a sleeping giant when they attacked pearl harbor." and it was ALL of america that fought against japan. men shot the guns while women made them, and bullets and food and uniforms and all the other stuff. everyone was ticked off at the japs back then. now we are good friends wouldn't you say?
