That is false. Heres the OCG fix:

This card can only be Normal Summoned by Tributing 1 Machine-Type monster you control. If your opponent only controls face-down Defense Position monsters, this card cann attack directly. If this card were to be targeted by the effect of a Trap Card, you can pay 900 Life Points to Negate that Trap Cards effect and destroy it.
