This is something that i want to bring up. You cant constantly say that their is no god, that everyone who thinks there is a god is a fool and is ignorant. People believe there is a god because they THINK there is, and some people THINK there isnt. It is impossible to prove either points. Not criticizing here, but, let's just say that someone has proven the existence of God for a moment. There is fault in your logic. Just because we can't prove something doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

 

It's called theory. Like the theory that dark matter is a type of matter that cannot be seen, yet still takes up space. No one can prove its existence, except through guesses.

I am not criticizing the fact that you are atheists, but there is no reason to criticize theists because their beliefs. That is discrimination.

But the presence of dark matter can be inferred by its gravitational effects. It's an inference based on data and logical thinking. And that's not discrimination. If I refused to let somebody work for me because they were a theist, that would be discrimination. Calling a theist ignorant and arrogant is not.

First of all, what the bloody hell are you trying to say in this first paragraph. "Lets say someone just proved that God exists, therefore, your logic is flawed". Really? Really? Wow. Just wow. You may as well have said, in an argument against someone who doesn't like the colour red, "Unbeknownst to you, someone just proved that the colour red is dumb, therefore your logic is flawed". That doesn't follow any logical pattern, which is exactly my argument against theists. Theists use extremely illogical arguments. They can't even be called arguments.

Actually... you are not "agnostic" unless you are either an "agnostic atheist" or an "agnostic theist*", those who consider themselves to be "purely agnostic", as in, maintaining a perfect neutrality, fall under the bracket of "irreligion" (read the first paragraph of that article for further explanation).

 

I am irreligious, but I am not agnostic, I am a secular humanist. I see the idea of religion - including atheism - and the debate of it, as a waste of time, as humanity has enough problems.

Frunk, I think that religion is one of the problems that needs to be eliminated in order for the human race to progress. If you look back, religion dominated for about 1700 years until people finally realized that the world was actually governed by the laws of science. The Dark Ages were a product of religion.
