PLEASE COMMENT AND RATE

Well, i don't really want to rate the deck, as I think that it's hard to put a number to it. To me, this decks seems like a kind of a nice theme, except that it has a kind of hidden invulnerability effect, which kinda seems unfair ^^;

First off, the field card cannot be destroyed without effects that remove cards from the graveyard from play. field cards should never have recycling as an effect, as that gives you a field card that disallows your opponent from having any field cards in play. The decks that resolve around their field card will be completely broken by this card alone, which makes the effect kinda overpowered (No field card has ever been given the effect that your opponent cannot be rid of it before)

Secondly, while the monsters in themselves seem innocent enough, their effects are extremely good, which, coupled with a kind of indestructible field, makes them extremely powerful. Especially Kisai and Kishi's effects. Kisai lets you add one spell of your choice from your deck to your hand. The only card to ever get this effect before was Dark Sage, and that was only once when it was summoned. There is a reason players do not get cards that allow them to add whatever spell card they need to their hand, and to top it off, once per turn.

That is way too overpowered.

Kisihi's effect are not that overpowered, but still, a level 3 monster with 2200 ATK can dodge almost all protection cards, and are highly searchable due to her low normal ATK.

So yeah, Kisai's effect is way too overpowered, but else this seems like a nice family that has it's own share of problems . What does it do when it meets cards that have 2800 ATK and more like Despair from the Dark?

So yeah, If I should rate each individual card, I would say that except for the field card and the two monsters mentioned earlier, the family doesn't do much. We have one monster that destroys spell and trap cards, one that removes itself and one opponent's monster until the next turn, and one that special summons one of the above monsters.

So yeah, It kinda lacks monster destruction to be more viable, but if it got easy monster destruction, it would be way to powerful with all its swarming ^^;

I hope that this comment helped you. I have reviewed this deck as it would work in professional plays, so the comment's might seem like they are a bit harsh, but this is under the "realistic cards" section, so I rate them as they could be played realistically.

It would make for a nice Anime-deck though =D

Thanks for your Comment Dairuga :D

I don't think that your comment was all that harsh, the cards you pointed out were acctually the cards I thought might be too OP. I have changed "Magical Kingdom of Fantasia", "Kishi" and "Kisai" a bit now (leaving Kisai with an awfully long effect apparently xD). I'd really love it if you'd check them out now and tell me if it's still too OP (I'm still a bit unsure of the "magical kingdom")

Umm... Sorry for the delay, but I thought I wrote this earlier today, but it seems that it didn't get posted, or something... ^^;

Okay, first off. Now I really like the Field card. It is recyclable, but not so much that it's broken, so great job on that =D Secondly, Kishi is pretty much a pretty okay monster now. She does really fit being a level 4 monster, as she has 2200 ATK, which is 100 less then Goblin Attack Force, except she doesn't get switched to defense after she attacks ^^;

Lastly, You did a really good job at toning down Kisai's effect. (It is still considered broken / Overpowered for competetive play though, as she adds the top spell card to your hand each turn, which is a +1 each turn. Pot of greed got banned for being a simple +1 (a one for two card)) While her effect might still be a bit powerful, she makes up for it by having low stats so that a level 2/3 or something monster might be able to kill her even if you use protection cards. So I'd say you did a really good job at toning down the effects of your cards.

Except if you equip her with Toukenmion. Then she is indestructible. Which makes it so that your opponent can't be rid of her at all. (As far as I know, Compulsory evacuation device and Karma cut are the only cards that would be able to get rid of her in the entire Yu-Gi-Oh Card Game). Maybe instead of saying that the monster is not able to be destroyed, maybe you should say that it couldn't be destroyed by battle, or not destroyed by card effects?

Another thing I noticed about your deck is that it has problems against high level monsters with High ATK, so maybe you should make some more monsters that can give ATK increases, or something.

As far as Tenshi goes, she is a weaker version of "Destiny hero - Doomguy" which is a bit bad. Maybe you could add to her effect that she gains the ATK of the monster she removed when she comes back, until the end phase?

So yeah, that is as much as I can say for now, and I hope that you liked the comments I made. Personally, I think that this is a nice little family, and that with a couple of more monsters, it could be a nice decktype =D (Maybe some level 5-6 or 7-8 monsters, maybe the king of Fantasia or something).

Thanks again for your Reply :)

Once again Kisai has been altered a bit to be less broken (she's still really good, but I don't think she'd be broken) and Tenshi have been given a small upgrade.

Also the Guardians of Fantasia have been updated with another member. "Zetsumei" who guards the underworld (the only area I could include now would be a guardian of the center/heart of fantasia ^^')

Although I think you are mistaken about a kisai equipped with toukenmion, she would still be destroyable. Not by attacks or by a spell like Lightning Vortex or fissure. But she can be destroyed through the effect of Toukenmion (all it takes is an S/T removal card). Also any card that puts her back into the hand/ on the top of my deck would take care of it aswell as a Caius or something else that just RFP instead of destroys.

I liked your idea of a king of Fantasia, but if I made a King of Fantasia I would have to change the card "For Princess Hime and Fantasia" since Hime would no longer be the ruler.

Hehe, well, again Nice work with the cards =D Just a little note on Zetsimei... When she gets destroyed and sent to the graveyard, she turns into a normal monster and loses her return effect, so you might want to alter her wording a little ^^;

And as far as Tenshi, she is still pretty bad =P 500 Lifepoint is not much =P

Hmm... for additional guardians, how about guardians of a magical lake, or something? Or what about the Queen of Fantasia then? Or spirit of the Queen? I'm sure Hime must have had a mother, even if her mother wasn't the ruler of Fantasia.

Hehe, to quote a Terry Pratchett quote: "Who shall guard the guardians?" The guardian of the guardians of Fantasia =P But why not a Guardian of Fantasia - [insert name here] Protector of the Heart?

Yeah, I forgot that. My bad ^^;

haha I acctually didn't think of that minor detail xD hm, maybe she'll get removed from play when she's destroyed and then, since she's still an effect monster she can be special summoned?

I don't think Tenshi is all that bad since she'll be very hard to destroy. The one moment you can acctually kill her of is when she's returning to the field, because in the Main Phase she'll most likely remove another card from play alongside herself and won't return until the next standby phase of the controllers turn. When she comes back she'll be placing fantasia counters on tavern and castle (if those are in play) as well as increacing the Life Points of the controller by 500.

Yeah I know that there could be more guardians but I don't know if I want to make more since it's hard to make them all fit in a 40 card deck (although could side deck them of course :3). I was thinking of making a "Protector of the Heart" or a "protector of the insertrandomnameofspecies". A king or Queen would probably work better as a Spell or Trap card, since they are dead and the spirits of them would be better as spell or trap cards according to me. (of course Hime had a mother and father, although that lies further back in the history of Fantasia ;))

Yeah, I guess that would work. She still retains her effects when removed from play.

And as far as tenshi goes, yeah, she can rip one monster from the field once per turn, but then again, your opponent will keep summoning high level monsters (My brother runs a zombie deck. If he has no monsters on the field, he starts to special summon Despair from the dark, ryu kokki, Goku en, etc... While tenshi might be har to destroy, she doesn't do much to defend you against attackers =P

Well, I kinda figured they were dead (with the princess ruling the land), but that doesn't mean thay can't be monster cards (They have alredy made plenty of "spirit" cards, like spirit of light, Spirit of fire, Guardian spirit and such..) but then again it's your cards, so you decide ^^;

As I said in my last comment, Protector of the heart sounds nice =P But then again, "Guardian of Fantasia - Protector of insertnameofrandomspecies" also sounds interesting. Kinda like anteatereatingant =D But what would her effect be?

And again you already have spirit of Tenba, so why not spirit of the late king and queen =P Or you could call it Queen / King's Blessing, or Prayers of the queen, or something ^^;

Well I guess I have to give Tenshi an even better effect then (gosh my life is hard xD). (you do realize she can rfp spell/trap cards as well do you? It sais remove a CARD not Monster).

I'm currently trying to find a nice pic for a king+queen spell/trap card since I think they'd do better as such.

I have found a pic of a ranger girl surrounded by blob-like creatures that I think would be fitting for such a card, I'm thinking of calling her "Guardian of Fantasia - Chuubu, Protector of the Ikami People". I think a fitting effect would be that you can destroy her instead of another "Guardian of Fantasia" or that you can destroy her instead of the "Magical Kingdom".

I'm acctually thinking of adding some history of Fantasia to this thread since it would give the cards so much more depth to them, especially "Hime" and the "Spirit of Tenba, the Pegasi Rider"

Oh, I have changed the names of the castle and tavern as well as I have changed the effect of Zetsumei and Tenshi :D

nice work^^

8/10

good luck on your way

Thank you ^^

There, now there's a King and Queen in form of Spell and Trap Cards (the sets first Trap Card, yay ^^) and I'm also working on "Chuubuu" the guardian of those wierd blob creatures :)

I'm thinking of writing a fan-fiction about Fantasia, what do you think.

No, I didn't realize that ^^; Well, now her effect is kinda too good =P (hehe, lets say that you have 4 cards (field, a set card, and a monster + Tenshi that just arrived) and your opponent has 5 cards (The card that just returned, plus 2 monsters, and 2 face-downs) and that equals 2900 Lifepoint gain each round, which is kinda extreme ^^; I didn't realize that she could remove any card instead of monster, so maybe the 500 Lifepoint was good enough?

Well, Chuubu sounds like a nice card, but why chuubu (The name sounds weird =P)?

Well, a story to go with the cards would be very nice =D

Hehe, I have a story behind my cards, and it adds depth to them, so its very fun for me atleast =D

Well I'll change her back again then x'D

All of the guardians (+king, queen and tenba and toukenmion) names have their root in the japanese language. Each of their names has a connection to their "proffession".

Kishi means Knight

I think Ite meant Bow or Archer

Kisai means mage or magician

Tenshi means Angel

Zetsumei means gate (if I remember correctly)

Sekken means Spirit or World (I don't remember which ^^*)

Sou means priest

Tenba means Pegasus

Kisaki means Queen

Oumono means King

Toukenmion is a number of words for sword (2 or 3) put together (so it's acctually swordsword or swordswordsword xD)

as for Chuubuu, it's acctually means Guardian :)

As for the story: I have started to work with it, although I felt taht I rather start at the very beginning of the history of Fantasia, and this set is set in the current time of Fantasia. Why the sword in this set is called toukenmion will be explained within the first years of the Fantasian history and the legend of Tenba the Pegasi Rider will be unveiled.

and oh, I am also working on an Expansion for the Fantasia Set, called "Guardians of Fantasia - The Great Wars: The Salvation Wars".

Hehe =P

I see. I lol'd at the Swordswordsword =P Considering it's effect, why not call it the japanese word for Shieldshieldshield?

Or you could set the story for the current time, and then go back and explain what happened later ^^;

Well, great name for the set, at least =D You could make "Peasants of Fantasia" Cards =P

Link to comment
Share on other sites

haha, I don't think I will make the Peasants. Right now I'm concentrating on finishing up the set revolving around the first of the three great wars, the salvation wars. There the legend of Toukenmion will be unveiled :D

I have no idea what the other three wars should be called yet though. I'm thinking about making one with a civil war, but I'm not sure.

I like the idea and irony of making the name of "Toukenmion" (swordswordsword+on) "Tatetokushirudon" (tate+toku+shi-rudo+n = shieldshieldshield+n). Although, that would not be a cool name for a hero xD Maybe I'll make a shield in another set ;)

Link to comment
Share on other sites

The "Peasants of Fantasia" was a joke =P And I'm really amazed that you actually knew the word for 3xshield =)

Shouldn't the Salvation Wars (Wars that actually bring improvement) be the last war? Or was Fantasia in a really bad shape before the first war?

I could help come up with names if I knew the events surrounding the wars ^^;

Yeah I knew it was I was just.. acctually I don't know what I was doing xD

I don't know the words for these things by memory (or knowledge in japanese) I use an internet dictionary (yes, I am that awesome) to find the words.

The salvation wars were the first of the great wars, since Fantasia was infested with fiends and various "dark" creatures when it was founded. The salvation came through the war where Toukenmion conquered the beasts of darkness and banished them to the underworld.

I can acctually not say anything about the other wars since I'm still thinking of what the events that started the wars will be. I'm thinking of making a civil war and maybe a war between fantasia and a neighboring country.

The link to the first expansion is up!

Well, XD

Well, that's awesome =D Could you please share the translator? I'm very, very interested in finding some words of my own ^^;

Aha, I see. So toukenmion came and slayed the evil beasts, and sent them back to the underworld. Then I guess that the sword protected it's wielder from the dark energies, or something, and allowed the wielder to succeed? That's the conclusion I can draw from your story ^^;

If not, then you could make it so that when the wielder of Toukenmion battled a "Dark"-attribute monster or something, then the monster would be destroyed after damage calculations ^^; It's just an idea, though.

Hmm... First the land was full of beasts, then maybe some evil wizard went and tried to open a gate to the underworld and summon some more evil creatures? It could be the "War of the rising evil" =P

or you could add a war with a neighbouring cuntry. That is the most "realistic" option ^^;

Tokenmion was the leader of the Salvation Soldiers, but it was thanks to his cunning and expertise that they could send the beasts back to the underworld (were they rightfully belong, that's the problem with beasts, always vacationing to the upper realms :P). The sword in this set has acctually nothing to do with Toukenmion himself, the sword was created decades after the salvation wars and was merely named after the great hero. Although, it is rumored that a pice of Toukenmions soul was melded with the iron and that he will protect any true fantasian in battle wielding the sword.

Who gives a hoot about relisticness when it comes to fantasy? xD

I may not be making a war of the rising evil, however I may do a set with the beasts that is called "The Rising Evil". :)

also check out the first cards in the expansion if you want ;)

this is the site i use, it doesn't have all words though, but it's good enough :)

Aha. Well, that explains a lot =D Yeah, they tend to do that =P

Meh, while it is fantasy, so fantastical (Hehe "Fantasical =P) things can happen, it still helps if you can add a shred of plausibility ^^; That's at least my way of doing stuff ^^;

I couldn't manage to find the set though, so could you give a link to it?

Ya, I want, but I couldn't find the set ^^;

Aha. Ya, I use that too, except I don't know how to search for the advanced term like you did with toukenmion, and such ^^;
