all of this is pure poetry. people talking about the justification of racism and how to just live with it.

in my opinion' date=' who really cares about race, nationality, etc. We are all people. We were all put on this Earth by God(in my opinion) to live. to love. to share. why can't we all just be friends. so why don't all the blakes and whites and [b']Japs[/b] and jews and muslims and hispanics and everyone else( though i don't give any disrespect to people of a race or culture not stated here), just come together to make one great place to live... that is until the aliens come. THEN, we will all need to work together to solve problems so that we can remain here, one race, one culture, one people.

i am terrible sorry about the lenghts of this post in which you may or maynot need to read

I love your anti-racism speech that uses racial slurs. Really moving.

You are naturally wary of things that are different from you.

Everyone's racist....just some hide it better than others.

"Jap" is not a racist term, it's short hand for "Japanese person", just like "Jew" is short term for "Jewish person".

Eh' date=' you're right. But no your not.

Sortof.

I'll bring up a post I once made.

First of all, It was okay back then. The Japs were our enemy, they had just bombed pearl harbor and they did other terrible things. Point is, we were in a war with them. Who cares about a little children's cartoon? I say the Nips deserved it then. Not anymore, of course. The point being who the hell cares if it's racist? It's Hilarious! And the racism was tolerable. I still question if racism is okay, because then why do black people live in Africa? And white people in Europe? And Japanese in Japan? The answer is because "God" (or whatever you believe in) put those people in the selected area, and when they intermingle, thats not right. They deserve to live in the place "God" put them, idk though

TL;DR: Racism was justified back then, especially in a war.

It was on a thread about mistreating the Japanese after the pearl harbor attack.

I say "God" because i am an atheist.

There are African American's in Germany <.<

I seen them before. And also, not just African Americans are in Africa, Muslims are in Africa too, the top part of it right next to the Mediterranean Sea.

What does this mean?

No, you are wrong. There are NO German-born African American's in Germany. There are African-Germans in Germany. And there are no African Americans in Africa. They are just called Africans. Why do people always call them 'African-Americans' when that just identifies what country they were born in.

People are just more inclined to be with people they can identify with. It's much easier to identify with somebody who looks like you than someone who looks different. As you meet people, the lines begin to blur as you learn about their personalities and interests, but among strangers, your going to stick with the people who look the most like you.

Also, a Jew is a follower of Judeaism, just as a Christian is a follower of Christianity. Jap was a term created by Americans during World War II with racist implications, just like Nips.

Everyone's a little bit racist

Sometimes.

Doesn't mean we go

Around committing hate crimes.

Look around and you will find

No one's really color blind.

Maybe it's a fact

We all should face

Everyone makes judgments

Based on race.

I stopped reading at "Wikipedia."

Either way, it's irrelevant; I did not intend to use it as an ethnic slur, and it thus was not an ethnic slur when I used it, just like I can say "Yo what's good jabroni?" to a white person and I'm not belittling African American individual's whatsoever.

You go to a black person and call him a n****r' date=' then explain that you don't mean it in a demeaning way, and see if he still doesn't beat the s*** out of you.

[/quote']

Black people seem to be fine with hearing it from each other.

Anyways...

Racism is human nature. No matter how much you argue against it and claim you aren't racist, you are. You are subconsciously racist.

Walking up to someone can calling them a "jabroni" is WAY different from walking up to someone and saying "What's good jabroni?"

I've done the latter to African American's; they've laughed.

No, Context does not always define the word, the perception of the listener is what defines a word's meaning. Regardless of what it means to you, the message recieved by the listener is based on their perception of the word. The reaction of your audience is based on their perceptions, not yours, and your context is not always the same as theirs.

That was poorly written on my part.

Perceived context always defines the word, not specifically the context of the speaker.

My point was that you can use a word and not use it in a sentence and have it mean it's dictionary or common definition.

Being a racist is different from being affected by societal views on different ethnic groups. What some call "being a little bit racist", isn't truly racism. It's natural, and all people have pre-determined views on what people who are different from them are like. IMO, Being racist means that you act on those views on a regular basis, and set out to discriminate a certain person or group of people. That is quite different from being "a little bit racist"

Yes, it's natural racism.

I realized mere days ago that I have very racist views of Hispanics. I realized that I always subconsciously disliked them, but I'm not doing it on purpose. It's a grudge kind of thing. There's really no reason.

But it's fun making fun of them with my friend during study hall.

No, you don't.

If you're reading this thread, you need to watch this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pkwGg_kMDBM

Watch the entire thing, and understand that "real racism" is purely derived from hate, and that hate is more than just contempt.

Hate is a poison, as much as emotion as pessimism, yet it is both self and socially destructive.

Anyone who truly loves god will not cling to hate.

I don't put up with any form of prejudice. It is created from ignorance and hate. Some people have so much hate in them that they direct it at a certain group. I treat everyone as an equal no matter what they are. I judge people on what they can control not what they can't. Also, hasn't there been thousands of the same thread on this issue.

Furthermore, you are wrong. I don't feel more comfortable around my own race. Some of my closest friends are black and I don't feel out of place around them, even if I'm the only one of my race.

1. I realize this thread is old but I feel like I should resurrect it because... I funking can. >=\

2. You do not treat everyone equally. That's an outright lie. And if you say it isn't, then you are lying even more. And there haven't been any threads similar to this particular one made as far as I know.

3. I'm not saying that you couldn't have black friends. I'm saying that if you were in a room full of black people, and you were a white person or hispanic (or whatever) then you would probably naturally feel out of place. And that is natural.

whats the point in being racist if you have something against someone make sure its at the one person not there race. and at fisrt you would feel out of place but eventualy get use to it. i could go into the whole pschological thing but i dout anyone would understand. so theres no point in me saying it.

Call me a racist bastard' date=' but isn't it natural?

I mean, people are naturally more secure around other people of their own race. Of course there are a few exceptions, but you can't honestly tell me that you don't feel out of place when you're the only person of your race in the room.

Amirite?

[/quote']

I understand what you mean, but it truly isn't racism. It's kind of the opposite.

Most of the time, you feel out of place because you don't want to look racist, since you are not around your own race.

If you were in a room full of white people and you were black, or if you were white and you were in a room full of black people, you get cautious and you feel out of place because you don't want to look like a racist....if you aren't one.

It just shows you feel uncomfortable because you don't want to look like a racist by saying something incorrectly. In other words, it makes you feel out of place just because you are worried you might say something that came out your mouth wrong and made you look like a racist, jack-ass mountain hick.
