Adama.
I'm not too impressed with it myself, but it is only my second signiture. I think it's better than my first, but I still need some help. Comments appreciated :}. Version two is done, however, it needs a lot of help as well. {Adama}

Adama.
:{ The stars were made with the pencil tool, that's why they look so bad. I don't know about the focals, I think of it as the area where the Battlestar is closest to the Viper.{Adama}
Smeg
Not bad for a second, although it kind of looks like you plonked a render and planet on a pencil-created background. The left side of it looks kind of rough, maybe blur the edges lightly. Prada
Tip 1 - If you need stars, use a space stock(picture) and erase over your focal. Tip 2 - Text like that is a no-no. Major focal stealer and just kills the tag. Tip 3 - Go read the tuts and stuff I have posted in Tutorials. The resource thread. =]
Adama.
Thanks for the tips. I will use the first two to make a second version and read some tuts before I make my next signature.{Adama}

Adama.
Thank you :}. For this sig, I have a problem: The planet is not rendered, it has a bit of black background on it so that if I put the star stock behind it it will look wrong. Does anyone know a good place to get a picture rendered?{Adama}

Prada
Set the layer that you pasted the space stock in to screen. Then erase over the planet. =]

Adama.
Alright, heres what happened. I tried raiN's suggestion of setting the layer to screen, but the planet got transparent as well. So, I tried rendering it and didn't do too well. Version two is up though. Sorry if I disappointed you. {Adama}
Prada
Lol. Don't set the planet to screen. =P See, get a different space stock, put that on a new layer ABOVE the planet layer, set that layer to screen and then erase. What happened to the right side?
