"Apparently, Jared died on the fourth of March. The Death Note was only recently used though. Apparently, the Shinigami was reluctant to give the notebook back to the human world," Alexander said, "Besides the fact, there is another person who we should look out for, besides this rogue Kira who seems to fit in with Light's killings. I wire-tapped the NPA headquarters and recently, a few minutes before you came in, heard this message.

Alexander pressed a button, starting a voice recording that was electronically masked.

"Yes, FBI Director Hayes, I'm afraid that I will need your help with this. Kira has returned. Or shall I say, Kiras as it appears to be more than one. And NPA Director Shoko, same goes in your direction. L never gave me any information on the case, unless it directly pertained to me, but I am his true successor. Near has nothing to do with this. The SPK disbanded and now, I'm in charge."

"Well, he is obviously referring to us as Kira, though that is a mockery of me," Alexander said, "Does anyone else have anything to say? I'm sorry about the velocity at which the meeting is moving, but we cannot just sit around all day while this rogue Kira and this... L-impersonator are running about."

"It's not as simple as that," Alexander said, "Neither have been easy to track down. This rogue is killing criminals sporadically and throughout different cities, making his killings almost untraceable. And the L #3 is moving around too much. His most recent discussion came from three different places. Moscow, Seattle, and London. There is no way to track him through that."

Alexander was already outside, shading his eyes with his hands. "Hmm, so Ryuk," he said, "Tell me more about these fake rules you created.... under orders of Light?"

"Hyuk, hyuk, so clever. More clever than Light himself," Ryuk teased, "The fake rules are the ones in the back."

"I understood that part, but why did he want you to write them in?" Alexander whispered.

"To clear his name from suspicion of L."

"As I thought. But this new L is more clever than that. This... Omega. The end," Alexander said, "Very clever."

Alexander walks into a Starbucks, sitting alone in the corner. He looked over the crowd at the restaurant. "So, Ryuk," he whispered, "Are you on the same terms with me as you were with Light?"

"More or less the same," Ryuk said, flying above the table.

"Well," Alexander said, "Light had the Shinigami eyes through Misa and information through connections to the NPA. I have neither, but resources otherwise unstable."

Omega sat in his shaded room, watching the progression of an FBI meeting.

"Well," he said into a microphone, "You have decided? Who among you will be working with me, that is."

"Yes, sir," they said.

"Please sit if you are not among those few," Omega said, in the mic.

Most of the men in the room sat, leaving a few up. "That's good. Even numbers."
