[align=center]You may be wondering "Why is SpartanGio posting a one on one with him not even competing?". Well kingdom01 and nightmarian couldn't post a thread, so they asked if I could post it. Here is everything they wanted me to post:

 

Rules:

Make a Fiend-Type monster

Loser must give winner 3 reps

 

End Date: The first who gets 7 votes wins or the one with the most votes after three days wins

[spoiler=Card Lore]If your opponent has more cards in his/her hand and more Life Points than you, you can Special Summmon this card in face-down Defense Position. Each time a monster is Summoned, increase this card's ATK by 300. When this card's ATK is higher than its Defense, you gain 1500 Life Points and your opponent loses 1000 Life Points and this card's ATK cannot be changed. If this card is destroyed by a card's effect, it's placed in your opponent's field in face-up Attack Position, while in your opponent's field, its ATK and DEF become 0 and its Battle Position cannot be changed also it cannot be destroyed by battle once per turn.

**[spoiler=Card Lore]When a Fiend-Type monster you control attacks your opponent directly, you can reduce the Battle Damage your opponent takes to 0 and increase your Life Points by an amount equal to the damage that would have been inflicted. If this card is sent to the Graveyard during the turn you use this effect, you can Special Summon it from your Graveyard during your next Standby Phase.

 

 

**Note from nightmarian:-so, to use this cards ability u need to inflict damage to opponent by attacking directly..if you don't, this card will probably be screwed during next turn..if u use it for Synchro Summon during that turn, you will not get reviving effect...

-i think this card would really help Archfiend decks, because it recovers your lost Life Points because of Archfiends cost's + it give them Synchro Summon ability..

-note that Synchro Summoning during MP2 (in which u must use this card for Synchro if you want to use it effect) gives your opponent first chance to strike [/align]

Hmmmm... One more tough choice for the history books, Its mental suicide to try to judge by pics since both look excellent, but I'm gonna have to vote for Nightmarian's card.

Reasons:

#1) Effect is very themed and balanced,

#2) Duke could be used to deceive a little, small complaint but summoning him in face-down defense position would be pointless since you're gonna have to tell your opponent how he got there and be able to summon again, as far as I know, Special Summons are conducted to face-up. Small reason, but for me that tips the scale. I don't know everything, but that just makes sense to me.

Wow, I can't follow the logic that Duke is unbalanced or anything. We know cards can be Special Summoned in face-down defense position because there were at least 2 old cards that did just that. I can't see how it's broken at all.

U are not following logic at all, Adran.. Broken thing is that you can Special Summon it really easy, face-down thing doesn't matter much, though, his Special Summon cannot be targeted with Bottomless Trap Hole for example and lot of other cards...

What i see broken in him is combination of easy Special Summon + really strong effect :

When this card's ATK is higher than its Defense, you gain 1500 Life Points and your opponent loses 1000 Life Points and this card's ATK cannot be changed.

 

-Just equip him with Axe of Despair and thats it :p

to quote you neo, U are not following logic at all. Your opponent must hold the advantage over you for the card to be Special Summoned, so its NOT necessarily an easy summoning method, cause its very easy to not meet the hand requirement. In fact, more often than not you wont meet the hand requirement simply because hands tend to be small the longer the duel goes on. His ATK being locked is irrelevant, that will hardly be a problem. Special Summoning face-down is also not a problem, and if it is its an easily correctable one by simply changing it to face-up. But just from looking at the card myself, I can see NO problem with that at all. So he gives you a nice boost to your LP and weakens your opponent. Big deal. Afterward, he's no better than a Normal Monster with high atk and def. Easily destroyed, and with no useful effects. He cant even gain any further atk bonuses. If anything he is WEAKER than your card in that sense, especially since your card is from a game that doesn't include TCG cards and can actually be much stronger in that game since it can be made impossible to attack. ;p But looking at it from a TCG standpoint, your card is also somewhat broken since you can Synchro Summon every single turn so long as you have a fiend that can attack your opponent directly, and is immortal. Looking at all these facts, its YOUR card that is broken, not his. How's that for logical? I had decided what to vote on based on logic, so don't tell me I'm not being logical.

Neo, I highly advice you to remove your damn negs quickly, because I will make a pest of myself otherwise. You had no reason to give me such stupid negs when there were no fights or anything to begin with. There is a reason I hate bastards, and if you are gonna be one, be prepared for the problems it will make for you. All I was doing was defending my own opinion and a card that everyone seems to illogically see as broken, even when its not.

 

EDIT: BTW, fights only start when idiots decide to mess with me by being idiotic.
