Silver Lining
Shasta was about to lose her sanity out of complete boredom. The beach's atmosphere had gone down ever since the oil spill in Northern County. Most people still surfed in the water, but she wondered how they could enjoy so without waves. As she walked, she dipped her big toe in the peak of the water. "Why's it so cold?" she asked herself. The sky was a delicate purple-blue and the sun was redhot, smack in the middle of the sky. This was an ordinary day out on the bay. The cries of the gulls used to annoy her, but after visiting here every year since she was eight, she had gotten used to it; now she threw frenchfries at them in feeble hope that they would take a rest for a minute or two- enough time for her to escape. She knew that by walking along the shore- alone- obviously meant she needed some friends. After nine years, you would have thought she would have had at least two or three companions by now. Sure, she could make some easily. But could she keep them? She didn't know if she could answer that. Soon, the sun was lowering in the sky, and she had to deliberate whether she should go home now or not. She didn't really want to go sit at her house and rot, but nor did she want to stand there like a moron waiting for someone to come make conversation. So she sauntered idly back to first beach, pulled a magazine out of her bag, and started reading.

Silver Lining
Shasta looked up from her magazine, eyes wide with shock. Was someone actually talking to her? That was a first. "Sure... but... who are your 'friends'? I'd love to meet them."
Sunako Kirishiki
"Hmph.. they're no fun." Milanor thought "And they're so boring."
Silver Lining
The one thing everyone did not know about her, was that Shasta was a mind-reader. "Well," she sighed, walking towards Milanor. "You don't strike me as very fun yourself. If you think we're boring, let's see you entertain us, hmm?"
Sunako Kirishiki
"Well. I'm boring and so the world~ but you're not so boring as I expected as you can read my mind~" Milanor replied.
Silver Lining
"Yes, I am quite a perk, aren't I?" Shasta smiled tentatively. "Regardless, I don't believe we've met."

Silver Lining
"Shasta. I live just up the beach there," she stabbed her pointer finger behind him, where a dirt trail led to the top of a hill. On the hill was a small and average looking condo. "And you are.....?"
Sunako Kirishiki
"Milanor~" he replied. "Living near the beach... is it good~?"
Silver Lining
"It depends... it's kinda annoying when it storms- it's louder here then anywhere else on the island. But when it's not, I love living here. The sunsets are so pretty... and the waves are just astounding. It's not like anything you've ever seen before. Most people only experience them during the day, but at night, they're pretty awesome." Shasta made a point not to mention that she'd only bought the condo three days earlier. Silver Lining
Shasta flushed red and looked away. "Er, yes..." she muttered, embarrassed. "But that's irrelevant. Even in the small period time I've been here, I've grown to say that's it's probably one of the most astonishing places on the planet."
Sunako Kirishiki
"Apparently, I'm right again... is this really luck? I got all the predictions right...." Milanor thought "Out of 30928 predictions, all of them really happened."
Silver Lining
"30928?" Shasta repeated in an irritated tone. "What are you, the weather man?"

Silver Lining
-- lol. You spelled keys wrong. Cute. (: "Just a sec," Shasta mumbled, jogging away. She was back in about half a second with a small tote bag and towel. "Okay, let's get on with this." She jumped on the boat and smiled at Duke.
