Here is the premise:

 

The year is 2099 AD.

Our world is pretty much in ruins.

Most of the world is either under Arcadian control, marginally stabilized, or in chaos and anarchy. No one knows what exactly caused our world to be like this, but most attribute the current drawing of the world’s borders to one person: Clair Kinet, the girl who tried to win a game of Duel Monsters against a god and ended up drawing.

Her father, Overmind Liberion, Emperor of Arcadia, Savior of the Psychics, etc., tried to press a space-time “reset button” of sorts, but failed and decided he was content with waging what is now called “The Final World War”, a true war to end all wars, due to the fact that virtually all nations no longer have the military capacity to do so.

Most of the former American heartland was pulverized into radioactive wasteland, along with Central China and the Middle East, in that terrible war. The Holy Transhuman Imperium of Greater Arcadius is now the de-facto world power.

The global ice caps, heavily affected by gradual climate change over the past century, are nonexistent. The global sea level has risen 20 meters on average, drowning entire metropolises and dooming even more lives in those dark days of the Final World War. The average global temperature has risen 10 degrees Celsius. Canada and Siberia now serve as the breadbaskets for a slowly recovering world.

The Advanced Eurasian Union and what’s left of the American Super-Union have joined forces to create the Atlantic Confederation, consisting of dozens of member states in both North America and Europe. The ACF is the core member of the Alliance of Free Nations, the countries that reject complete Arcadian domination, either actively or passively. But Arcadian lands range from the “New Empires” in the lower Americas to the Native American “Free States” to what’s left of the major religious power bases, excluding the unusual Muslim-Catholic Holy Alliance. Neutral powers in this Absolute Cold War include the Confederacy of America, the North Korean Empire, Antarctica, and Luna.

But Clair Kinet, the one supposedly responsible for all of this, has vanished off of the face of the earth since that epic battle over 25 years ago that crushed almost all hope of rebellion.

Hair: Black and spiky.

Eyes: Hazel

Dress: Mainly leather jackets, jeans, and T-Shirts. Most of his clothing is either worn out or patched up. Duel Disk made out of spare parts, then prototype KaibaCorp "Nike 2103", a top-of-the-line Duel Disk/Duel Runner hybrid that isn't supposed to be on the market for at least 2 years.

Nationality/Ethnicity: 6th Generation Hispanic-American. Has a normal American accent with a hint of a Hispanic heritage.

Personality: Somewhat impulsive and immature, but dedicated to the Movement and has a high set of morals and values.

Candice Salvador:

Age: 20

Hair: Black and a long ponytail with braiding.

Eyes: Hazel

Dress: T-Shirt and Overalls with a satchel or sorts for carrying tools. Also has worn out clothing. Heavily customized Duel Disk.

Nationality/Ethnicity: 6th Generation Hispanic-American. Similar to her brother, but uses more Spanish.

Personality: Protective of her younger brother. Stern exterior, but has a soft, loving heart

Faction: Restoration Movement

Preferred Deck Type: FIRE Burn Deck

 

Guenivere "Gwen" Siobhan:

Player: ?

Age: 37 (19 at time of death)

Hair: Blood-Red with Pink highlights and shoulder-length.

Eyes: Emerald Green with black sclera

Dress: A combination of Rudger's and Carly's Dark Signer outfits with a red border, Celtic rune chains and necklaces, and an inconspicuous gray cloak. Standard Dark Signer Duel Disk/Duel Runner Hybrid with custom black and red paintjob.

Nationality/Ethnicity: Unknown Generation Scottish (member of Clan Siobhan). Speaks with barely any accent, but does erupt into a highland brogue when stressed.

Personality: Seems emotionless, but actually harbors very strong emotions deep down inside. Dislikes Shadow Duels and Dark Synchro Monsters.

Initial Faction: None (Renegade from the Underworldists)

"Icarus 'Ikki' Kamikaze" (unknown whether true name or alias):

Hair: Blonde and crew-cut with some spikes.

Dress: Prefers black and metallic colors with armor-like plates incorporated into clothing. Customized Experimental Arcadian Hybrid Duel Runner/Duel Disk utilizing cutting-edge dueling technology, advanced AI (Artificial Intelligence) systems, and a revolutionary system that allows a telekinetic to power and drive the vehicle hands-free.

Nationality/Ethnicity: Unknown, but seems to be a blend of Asian and something else. (Psychic: Class-A Telekinetic)

Personality: Wise-cracking and anarchistic. An overall masochistic jerk.

Initial Faction: None (Fugitive from Arcadius. Charges include, but aren't limited to, 2 known accounts of high treason, 9 known accounts of grand theft, 37 known accounts of arson, 113 known accounts of assault, 172 known accounts of vandalism, 226 known accounts of simple battery, and 251 known accounts of obstructing justice. Current estimate of total property damage unknown, but is believed to be in the hundreds of millions of Arcadian Marks.)

Dress: A more "modern" version of her previous outfit, utilizing a black jacket over her now hot-pink blouse, a black miniskirt over her black tights, heavy black hiking boots, pink leggings, and pink armwarmers, overall looking like a punk biker version of Sakura Haruno from Naruto. She uses a newly-rebuilt version of her old Duel Disk with newly-inserted Hybrid capabilities.

Nationality/Ethnicity: Americaucasian, with a standard American accent.

Personality: More stoic than previously, but still retains that sense of honor and goodness.

Personality: Stalwart, headstrong, and stubborn. Believes that the Restoration Movement is too "soft". Wanted to become President before the Final World War started.

That's 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Honey, that change wouldn't take out a bit of the coast, it'd wipe out about two-thirds of the world, roughly.
