Max Darkness
These were originally two different sets. But I then had a flash of inspiration and made the two sets into arch-rivals from millenia ago. The Forgotten mainly rely on Spells and Summoning monsters, while The Malevolent have less Spells and Traps but have complex, damaging effects. The reason I've split this into two threads is not just aesthetic reasons; editing a thread becomes very difficult and slow when there are 30+ cards in it.Part 1 is here: http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/thread-129286.html Part 2 is The Malevolent. Enjoy!Part 3 is here: http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/thread-132023.html [spoiler=The Back Story]Eons ago, there were two advanced races. For centuries they co-existed peacefully, ignorant of each other. However, when members of each race encountered each other, their arrogance and fear drove them to war. Each side employed their most powerful skills; The Forgotten attacked with arcane magic and stone golems, The Malevolent struck with dark energies and monstrous creations of darkness. As the conflict grew, both civilisations became desperate, creating ever-more powerful weapons of war in an attempt to obliterate the opposing side. From this desperation, the Forgotten Dragon, the Forgotten Stone Warrior and the Knight of The Forgotten were born. On The Malevolent’s side, they bore ever-more twisted creatures, the Malevolent Insect, the Malevolent Serpent and the Malevolent Spirit-Dullahan.After years of destruction, the leaders of both sides sought a final solution. The Forgotten used all their powers to bring forth the Angel of The Forgotten to rain divine power onto the Malevolent. The Malevolent concentrated their necromancy and summoned their ancient deity, the Transcend Malevolent to counter the threat. These two super-natural beings fought in the sky, the sea and on the earth; their feud never-ending. In their struggle, they each brought forth three destructive beasts. The Angel created Anzu, Gilgamesh and Tiamat and the Transcend used his dark powers to craft Hellbourne, Naka and Tempest. And thus the fight continued, with each side equally matched but complete opposites. The turning point came when the two transcend beings struck each other at the same time. The resulting unleash of energy mortally wounded both beings. Using the last gasps of strength, they fused their subordinates into two creatures even stronger than themselves. And thus, Marduk and Appolion were born. One formed of pure light, the other of unending darkness. Their fight decimated the land beneath them. Each one of their attacks wiped out cities and mountains effortlessly. However, Marduk overpowered Appolion, cutting the demon dragon in two and wiping out the Malevolent in one strike. The war was over. However, it was a costly victory. The Forgotten’s great cities were in ruins, their technology and knowledge destroyed. They, like the Malevolent, faded out of history. What was their empire eventually became the legendary cities of Agartha, Atlantis and Lemuria. [spoiler=The Malevolent][spoiler= Effect Monsters] Effect: This card's Attribute is treated as DARK, in addition to its regular Attribute. Once per turn, during your Standby Phase, you can Tribute this monster to Special Summon 1 Level 8 "Malevolent" monster. If you do this, remove all "Malevolent Counter" cards from monsters on your side of the field. ("Malevolent" monsters gain 200 ATK and DEF for each "Malevolent Counter" during the Damage Step only. Non-"Malevolent" monsters lose 200 ATK and DEF for each "Malevolent Counter" during the Damage Step only.) Effect: This card gains 200 ATK for every "Forgotten" monster on the field. Once per turn, during your Draw Phase, you can skip your Draw Phase and add 1 Equip Spell Card to your hand from your Deck. During your Main Phase, you must Equip the drawn card to this card. Effect: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by the effect of "Mark of The Malevolent" and is Special Summoned to your opponent's side of the field. This card inflicts 500 points of damage to the Life Points of this card's controller during each of their Standby Phases. Once per turn, during your Standby Phase, Special Summon 1 "Malevolent Swarmer" to your opponent's side of the field. If you Special Summon this monster, you cannot Normal Summon or Set a monster during the same turn. Effect: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set except by Tributing 1 "Malevolent" monster and 1 DARK monster on your side of the field. During each of your End Phases, put 1 "Malevolent Counter" on this card. Once per turn, during your opponent's Standby Phase, you can remove any number of "Malevolent Counter" cards from this card. Your opponent discards a number of cards from their hand equal to the number of removed "Malevolent Counter" cards. ("Malevolent" monsters gain 200 ATK and DEF for each "Malevolent Counter" during the Damage Step only. Non-"Malevolent" monsters lose 200 ATK and DEF for each "Malevolent Counter" during the Damage Step only.) Effect: FLIP: Your opponent discards 1 "Forgotten" monster from their hand. Effect: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card can only be Special Summoned by the effect of "Malevolent Insect". This card inflicts 200 points of damage to the Life Points of this card's controller during each of their Standby Phases. Effect: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set except by Tributing 2 "Malevolent" monsters on your side of the field. Once per turn, during your Main Phase, discard 1 DARK monster from your hand. If you do, this card gains ATK equal to the Level of the discarded monster x 200. If you do not, this card cannot declare an attack during your Battle Phase and is switched to Defense Position. (This effect cannot be negated.) During your End Phase, if this card is in Defense Position, switch it to Attack Position. Effect: This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by the effect of "Rise Again Necros!". This card is not destroyed as a result of battle or by the effects of Spell or Trap Cards. Once per turn, during your Standby Phase, remove from play a number of the monsters Tributed by the effect of "Rise Again Necros!" equal to the number of monsters on your opponent's side of the field. [spoiler=Union Monsters] Effect: Once per turn, during your Main Phase, if you control this monster on the field, you can equip it to a "Malevolent" monster as an Equip Spell Card OR unequip the Union equipment and Special Summon this card in face-up Attack Position. While equipped to a monster by this card's effect, each time the equipped monster destroys a monster by battle, put 1 "Malevolent Counter" on the equipped monster. It isn't supposed to be a Deck, it's supposed to be an Archetype, like Red-Eyes or the Dark Magician. You don't have all of them in your Deck, just the ones you need.Granted, a majority are hard to summon, but that's why their effects are so damaging to your opponent. If you need an example, Yugi did not have every Dark Magician card in his Deck all the time, only the ones that he needed. This would be the same. You would use the Fiend-Types in an appropriate deck and the Warrior and Spellcaster-Types in a different deck. But I will probably make a couple of lower-leveled monsters to help the set along.
