Confiscation discussion

Recommended Posts

My thinking on this card is simple: Easy to get advantage over your opponet. The ONLY reason Dustshoot reamains where its at is because:

1.Its a trap and so you cannot use it immediatly:like you can with this

2.The condition meaning that later in the game the card becomes nearly impossible to work with ONLY if your opponet is competent at getting there cards into play but with LS and Blackwings thats not hard

3.Unless im incorrect it says monsters only and returns to the deck. Wich means that the opponet still has the card and you MUST hit a monster and that signifacantly lowers options. This can hit anything and dumps it completetly

Meh friend lost half a ton of blood trying to deal with the ton of odiousness floatin' 'bout Jinzo's carriage. As she's still havin' convulsions or so I hear, I'll cover for her.

Well, it IS a 1-for-1, you lose a card, so do they. If we're taking ONLY Confiscation into account, nobody has less cards in their hand. Then there's a little something something tacked on. You see their hand too and lose 1000 LP.

Yeah... YOU see your opponent's hand - five cards if you happen to activate it in your first turn - and funk with one of 'em. Your opponent sees CONFISCATION ONLY. GG?

Seriously, why is it that Smashing Ground, which is a completely COSTLESS one-for-one which wouldn't contribute any more to the game than this, not be graced with the quoted post too?

You don't usually see what your opponent has in store fer deh leiks of ye. Usually. Of course, your opponent does lose a monster, and the initiative to go do it with deh monster, but hey, at least he isn't forced to reveal whatever facedowns he has.

In case anyone didn't notice, the Earthquake! topic was made as a parallel to Confiscation. It's not a perfect match - Earthquake! doesn't provide the user with any extra information, only hits cards that the opponent has already put at increased risk, frequently hits cards that have already paid for themselves (by battle if in no other way), and is useless as a preemptive measure - but the fact that Earthquake! is obviously overpowered anyhow despite being inferior to Confiscation in all of these ways should make the point clear.

I didn't read all of Polaris's post, but I think it said something about Confiscation being a 1-for-1 and therefore being inferior to Smashing Ground due to its Life Point cost. I'm not going to respond to that because of whatever that quote is about popularity on YCM it should be blatantly obvious what the problems with this comparison are.
