Was she even happy about the necklace? From what I've heard she's greedy, materialistic, and snobbish, in addition to being violent towards you. I'd return the necklace. get your money back, and get the hell away from her before you're getting plates thrown at you and having your life controlled by her lust for money and objects. I've seen this happen. It will make any "my life sucks" crap you might be thinking currently become your reality. Tenfold. If you're actively trying to find flaws in someone, then you're either being an overly critical arse, or you're trying to fool yourself out of the fact that it's really what you want. If you think having her as your companion for a few years (I'm assuming) equals love, you couldn't be more wrong. I've seen the same thing happen, with a woman of the same personality as cassie, a man very well off (a lawyer himself in fact), and a 25 year long marriage that was merely a lie made so that she could further manipulate him (rather, his wealth). You travel a dangerous road that has no glorious or happy ending. Your only option is to wake up and end this as soon as possible, for the longer you wait, the worse it will get. You're being very indecisive and trying to please everyone. You must not lie to yourself by actively searching for as many flaws as you can, you must make a fairly quick decision and stick with it, you must not try to please everyone. When you try to please everyone, you shall please no-one. From all I've seen (rather read), you allow yourself to be pushed around too much. Be more assertive. You don't have to be some aggressive dominant jerk, but make decisions based on what YOU feel is right (not what cassie or anyone else hammers into your head is right) and be adamant about it. You can be a tool to be used by others, or you can be a carpenter: using the tools. Or, you can be a blacksmith and forge your own path without manipulating others. The choice is yours, and yours alone. That is, if you have the resolve to make it.
