It's been...absurdly boring so far. Card Making, YuGiOh, and Magic: the Gathering.

I'm not sure if it goes into this category, please read to determine...

Ever since the art usage policy changed...it's been boring around here. That's old news. Anyway, here's the main point: Yu-Gi-Oh! seems to have lost its appeal to me for the very fact that most decks center around monsters, no matter what deck type you look at. Mill, Aggro, Burn, all of them have monsters: about a 50-50 mix in most cases. It's impossible to build a deck or make a custom set that can effectively win a duel and they don't involve monsters of any sort. Even when making a custom set, the first thing that pops into my mind is "Make some monsters!"

For now, I've turned my sights to Magic: the Gathering card making for the moment until I can find the appeal in Yu-Gi-Oh! again. In MtG, there's certainly a vast amount of stuff to play with (literally and non- literally) due the fact that almost everything costs mana to play it, and that there are alternate ways to pay for summoning monsters/casting spells for some of them. Not to mention there are keyword effects that succinctly compact the text so one can cram in...even more insane effects. And I've also started to play around on Magic Set Editor, making a few cards from Yu-Gi-Oh! to see how the cards in there would do in Magic (not out of a superiority complex, just rather amusing).

If anyone's been wondering why I've been supposedly "hibernating," now you know why...plus I have a bad art block which is preventing me from drawing anything.

Cool Story Bro?

I would be playing MTG right now instead if i could find a good source of cards around my areas (there aren't a lot of YGO card sellers around my area so a MTG one would be even harder)

Ah. In my area' date=' they sell lands 5 cents each. :P

MTG is only fun if u have a party and everyone has a Unhinged Deck or Unglued Deck. other than that MTG is a long a boring game with overpowerd cards and greedy owners.

YGO>MTG card game wise

I'd sort of have to agree with you about the way people behave that play MtG. Tried an about 7 online duels, 3 ran away for me simply asking questions, 1 beat me but did not follow the Extended format (which I clearly listed), and there were 3 enjoyable duels with non-Un set decks... I haven't dueled anyone in MtG irl though except for my brother.

DONT READ THIS. In 2009 a musically gifted pedophile as pale as the moon was found dead in his house. His heart just couldn't beat it. If you do not copy and paste this message to five other threads, which I know you won't, the spirit of this demonic child molester will come to your house on the night of a full moon and unleash a Thriller on your ass.

Have a nice night. <3

Wait wait wait.

Yugioh is boring "cause you need monsters to win?

I lol'd.

Yes, that's exactly what I just said. And I'd like to know why you find that amusing. Anyway, the fact that you almost always have to have some sort of monster to win makes cards like Monster Reborn staples. It's almost impossible to find a winning pure monster deck or a winning pure s/t deck...and the only way most would get away with that is if the opponent abides by the same restrictions. Hence the boringness.

This is true. The Unsets rock simply because they're random as hell; YGO definitely needs something like that.

Yes, YGO needs the power of spastic randomness...and needs to make it tournament legal! *insert maniacal laughter*

Ive actually made a set that would use maybe 7monsters in its deck.

The reason for this is actual fodder, and some stuff S/T isn't capable of. You know, that right balance stuff.

As for MTG vs YGO. It all depends on the amount of time you have.

If it's a long day, and need something fun to kill time. A good game of MTG would do.

If you need something to kill a few minutes, and still want a lot of fun.

A YGO duel will fill your time up just nicely.

who care they all suck

Lrn2grammar' date=' n00b. [b']Seriously, why can't someone actually use real talk?[/b] N00b.

I like both MtG and YGO. But I hardly never play anymore and I just recently got into MtG. I need to know more about MtG.

What the hell does that even mean?

The main reason you need monsters in (just about) every YGO deck is because the game's format limits spells. Taking out monsters cuts your effective usability in half, and for some Spell only decks, you need quite a few continuous cards.

The reason "creatures" aren't necessarily required in a MTG deck is because there is no cap on the number of cards you can play.

That being said, MTG is still a little stingy for my tastes.

I hate MTG. No matter what you try to build' date=' every deck has to use mana. How terrible.

Well it somewhat makes sense for that because you need that to summon monsters, cast spells, etc.

So it's better that a mechanic like mana is absolutely necessary whereas you don't have to run monsters, it's just recommended and efficient?
