EnkoMaun
The first one was fail. I hope this won't. Tell me what u think, and be free to give ideas.UPDATE: I am now in search of 3 decklists, and I need them quickly, and I really don't have to energy to create 3 decks instantly, and chapter 18 depends on it, so can someone PM me their (or of a deck they like, but NO META!) decks? Thanks.[spoiler=Chapter Guide]Chapters Prologue - 13 is at the first post.Chapters 14-25 will be at the 3rd post. [spoiler=Prologue]The streets were empty, everyone was sleeping in this sunday dawn. Except that 14 year old kid though, who was strolling down the alley. His red spiky hair was waving in the breeze. He had light brown eyes, which matched his cargo pants, which he loved wearing. And he was, just as always, taking his programmed sunday dawn walk. He did this every sunday morning, somehow he always woke up early on sundays, and what better way was there to waste time than taking a stroll? That's what exactly he thought. Everything in his life was kind of programmed like this. He started whistling a small tune as he slowed down his pace. He looked at his watch; 6:30. He should've returned home soon. "I'll take a U-turn from that block." he thought to himself. After ten more peaceful minutes, he got startled by a scream, and he almost tripped over something, that looked like a tin box. He regained his balance quickly, and picked up the tin box."Yu-Gi-Oh?" He knew the game, but he never played it. He looked inside. So many different cards were in there. He was amazed by how people were able to play it. He looked around both sides. There wasn't anyone around. He stuffed the box under his arm, and started walking again. After another ten minutes, he was right at home. He took out his keys, and he inserted it into the lock, checking if it was locked or not. It was locked, just the way he left it. His mom wasn't awake yet. He took a moment to silently unlock the door. He then slowly went upstairs, to his room, not to wake his mother. He put the tin box on his table. "I'll check you out more later." he thought to himself. As he got out of the room, he heard water flow from her mother's room. She was taking a shower. "Good mornin' mom!" he yelled out as he headed downstairs."Good morning Zack!" his mother responded after a while. It was just a regular sunday. [spoiler=Chapter 1]"Took a morning stroll again, Zack?" his mother asked him, as she put large pieces of sizzling cheese omelette on two plates, and placing one in front of Zack."Sure did." Zack replied. "Anything important happened?""Nope, just a regular stroll." he lied."Hmmm..."his mom mumbled, as she took a bite of the omelette and looked at the kitchen TV. The morning news was on. "This just in! A man was found dead at a back alley of Stenson Avenue this morning. There are no wounds, no marks of suffocation, and the forensics explain that things will be clearer after autopsy. It is recommended for people to watch out, even though it will be clearer if people are in danger or not, after investigation. " A freezing chill went down Zack's back as he kept on listening. Was that the source of the scream he just heard? "What's the matter?" his mother asked, looking at his son, now pale as ever.Zack stood still for a while. Then he gathered himself, and replied: "I'm fine. Just got startled a little bit.""It is kind of odd to live close to a crime scene." Zack always did find the way his mother thinks a little awkward. "So, what are you going to do today?""I dunno. Hang out with Ivan, perhaps.""Be careful, okay?"Zack nodded, as he gulped the remaining of the omelette and went out. He didn't look like it, but he was pretty excited for his birthday, which was right tomorrow. But his mother didn't seem like she even noticed."She's packing a surprise." he thought to himself. The thought of it made him smile. He dashed out of the house, his eyes looking for his friend. After a while, he saw Ivan, leaning on a corner. He calmly walked there. When he approached him, the black haired, blue eyed boy with a sloppy white shirt, sleeves pulled, looked at him and smiled. "Hey dude." Zack said."Ditto." Ivan replied quickly."Heard the news?""Creepy, huh?""Yeah." Ivan seemed a little bored."Is something up, Ivan?" Zack asked."Why do you not start Yu-Gi-Oh?""Where did that come from?""Just asking. It's such an awesome card game.""Meh. Maybe I will.""Oh you will.""Whatever. Can we change the topic now?""Well, I'm going to duel soon. And you're going to watch.""Really?" said Zack. He was surprised with the sternness of his friend. "With who?""You see that guy?" Ivan asked him, pointing a plump kid coming closer to them."Yeah.""He's going down. He was part of this gang that stole my card. I'm taking it back." Ivan said, as he took out a deck from his pocket. The plump kid got next to them. He had straight brown hair, and a bulldog-like face. "I heard you're looking for me.""I heard you had my card. I want it back.""Well I did take your best card. How will you beat me?""I'm not an amateur like you guys, Johnny." Ivan said, confidently. "I keep multiples of my trump card in my deck. I only had to replace it.""Well then, let's duel." said Johnny. There was an old picnic table by the park near the sidewalk. They sat down, and placed their decks. "Bring it on!" Ivan yelled. [spoiler=Chapter 2]"I'm going first!" Ivan yelled. "I'll start by setting 1 monster, and 1 monster. Turn end." Johnny drew without saying anything. "I'll play Goblin Attack Force. (2300/0), and attack your face down card!" "Bad move." Ivan said. "My face-down was Giant Germ(1000/100). You take 1000 points of damage, and I can Special Summon 2 more Giant Germs (1000/100) (1000/100)." (8000/7000) "Fine. I set 1 card, and end my turn. Goblin Attack Force returns to defense position." Johnny said. "I draw." Ivan smirked. "I play my face-down card, Call of the Haunted. I Special Summon my Giant Germ(1000/100). And now I'll activate Card Destruction." They both discarded their hands and drew new cards. Ivan grinned. "Now I'll Tribute all 3 of my monsters to Special Summon "The Wicked Dreadroot!"(4000/4000) Zack's eyes were wide open, the intensity of all of it made a small flare in him start burning! "Your Goblin's attack is halved. (1150/0) Now I'll attack it!" Johnny laughed out loud. "I activate Michizure. Your monster is gone." "Fine." Ivan said. "I set two cards and end my turn." "I draw. And I play Giant Trunade. All your spell and traps return to your hand." Ivan smiled at his opponent's mistake. "I'll now play Giant Orc, and attack." (5800/7000) "Turn end." "I draw!" Ivan said. "I set 3 cards, and set 1 monster. And I play Different Dimension Capsule. I remove from play a face-down card, and I end my turn." "Fine. I Tribute my Giant Orc to play Millenium Scorpion." Johnny smiled. (2000/1800) I attack your face-down card." "It's Hyena. (1000/300) I Special Summon 2 more." "My scorpion gains 500 ATK." (2500/1800) "I end." "You built a deck to counter me completely, haven't you Johnny?" Ivan was glaring at his opponent. "Nothing can counter me." "We'll see about that." Johnny said. He was surely intimidated. "I draw. I set a monster and I play Swords of Revealing Light. You don't get to attack me anymore." I end my turn. "Fine. I draw, set 1 card and end my turn." Johnny said, pissed off by this play. "My turn again." Ivan smiled. "Different Dimension Capsule's effect now activates. I take this card to my hand. Want to guess what it is?" Johnny gulped. "Well Johnny, I'm playing it then." Ivan said. "I Tribute 3 cards again, to Special Summon another The Wicked Dreadroot! (4000/4000) Your scorpion's ATK and DEF are halved. (1250/900) I'll also play Dust Tornado to destroy your Spell Card. But not just that, I attack your scorpion, and it gets PAWNED! (5800/4250) Turn end." Johnny gulped again. "I draw. I set 1 card and end my turn." "You're losing. Are you afraid?" Ivan loved pushing pressure on his opponents. "I play Heavy Storm. Your set card is destroyed. And now let's finish you off. I play Archfiend Soldier! (1900/1500 -> 950/750) And I attack with both of my monsters! (5800/0) Johnny's face got red. "Give me my card back." Ivan said, firmly.Johnny threw the card at Ivan's face."Thank you. Go away now." Ivan said even firmly. The chubby kid walked away in shame. Zack was amazed. "When did you get so good?" he asked."I practice." Ivan said. "You should learn how to play too.""Not right now.""Sooner than you think.""Well you're pissing me off. See ya tomorrow." Zack left. He got angry at all this forcing. [spoiler=Chapter 3]"What was up with Ivan?" Zack thought to himself, while rushing away. He never could stand people forcing him to do stuff. What was SO awesome about this game anyway? "Hey, wait up!" It was Ivan's voice, echoing from behind."What?""C'mon, Don't get mad over one thing!""You know I hate being forced to do stuff!""Well sorry, I was nervous.""You got your card back, why are you still nervous?""Look, man, I'm sorry, but I didn't even force you to do anything!""Oh yeah?""Did I make you sit down, put a deck in front of you and yell out 'Learn how to play!' at you constantly?""...No.""Then it's not forcing, dude."He was right. Zack did overreact there. He turned around, facing his friend."You're right. Sorry.""No prob.""So what do you want to do?""I have no idea.""Then let's just kill the day."They both could agree on that. The day soon ended.---Zack's eyes opened instantly. He looked at the watch. 7 'o clock. Extremely early to wake up in summer. He tried to close his eyes and sleep more, but he couldn't. After 30 more minutes of dawdling in bed, he got up, and out of his room. Nobody seemed to be awake yet. He rushed back into his room, and opened the tin box which he was hiding from everyone. "Hmm... Reload... Sword of Kusanagi... Trap Hole... Slate Warrior... Des Koala?" That was certainly a cute card. He dashed through the ordered stack of cards. Then he orderly put the almost 200-card stack into the box, as he heard his mother's footsteps. His mother went to work soon, and Zack was all alone. Now he could do what he wanted to do the whole week, find where mom hid the gift. He ravaged the living room, his room, his mom's room, even the bathroom, but he couldn't find anything. "That gift is extremely well hidden. Or she didn't even buy something." he thought. He then decided not to think about it. But then the cards got into his mind. What should he do with them? Keep them hidden? Give them to Ivan? Or learn how to play? He didn't know. The day just passed on. He got some birthday e-mail from some of his old friends from school. He left none of them unreplied. Sometime around 3 pm, he realized that Ivan wasn't around either. "Must be dueling." he thought. Even though he didn't want to learn how to play, there was something that pulled him into the whole card game. Perhaps the intensity. Perhaps something else. All that thinking killed another hour. He kept on looking at the cards. Although he didn't understand much, they were beautiful. It was calllng him. But after a while, he got bored again. He wondered if this were the cards of that murdered guy. What if he was dead because of his cards? Were these stuff THAT important? He hoped not. And then another hour flied away. He ran to the door as he heard the click of the lock. Mom was home. "So, you really didn't buy me a birthday gift, huh?" he asked, opening the door to his mother. But he was quite surprised. Ivan was with him, and they were carrying a large box. "Happy birthday!" they both said at the same time."Whoa. That's one HUGE box." Zack could say, in his startled state. Even though he was surprised, he did always have a materialist side."Yeah, open it up!" his mom said, cheerfully."Sure." Zack replied, grabbing the box from his mom's hand.He opened it up. There was a duel disk there, with a deck in it's deck slot. "Wha..." Zack just stood there."I told you that I'd make you start dueling." Ivan said."Why the duel disk?""They say that you must have one to join the upcoming tournament.""When is it?""In a week.""But I don't even know the rules!""That's why I'm here, dude.""What's in the deck?""You'll learn all of it. You learn fast, man!""...Meh." They spent the rest of the day teaching Zack how to play. [spoiler= Chapter 4]Ivan started coming in a lot for the last few days, to teach Zack how to duel, and how to bring out the potential out of his new zombie deck. "You're getting good at this." Ivan encouraged his friend the best he could. "But I'm still a newbie. I need to work up outside." Zack said."Well, let's go check the locals. There might be some people around."They dashed out of Zack's house. There weren't many people in the street where people usually gathered and dueled to the edge. “Interesting.” Ivan mumbled. “People must be practicing for the tournaments.”A kid came next to them. He looked at Zack, whom he never seen around these parts before, but his attention quickly turned at Ivan.“Wanna duel?” he asked, very excited.Ivan looked at Zack, then at the boy, then at Zack again.“Go for it.” Zack mumbled.“Duty calls, dude.”Zack sighed, then looked around for people. Anyone? Everyone was dueling with one another, or didn’t have decks. He needed to test his deck against other people. He finally spotted a girl, standing just by herself. She had a duel disk. Zack slowly walked at her, and just as he was going to ask her to duel, she grabbed him and pushed him into a narrow back alley. “What the heck was that?” Zack asked, frustrated.“Shut up and give me your deck.” the girl said, completely ignoring Zack.“What if I don’t?”“Then you die.”“You’ll have to duel it off me.”“Fine then.”“But, wait, I don’t have a duel disk!”The girl pointed at the right wall of the back alley. There was a dead man, with no wounds on him, just like the guy on the news. He had a duel disk on his arm.“Who the hell are you people?” Zack asked, as he put on the duel disk. The girl didn’t respond. She just shuffled her deck. It was stupid of Zack to get into grave danger in his very first duel, and he knew that exactly, and didn’t understand how a duel, or a girl her own age could kill him, but there was something, that was making him thrill to duel. “I hope that something doesn’t kill me.” Zack thought to himself, and shuffled his deck. They both drew 5 cards. The girl went first. “I’ll draw and set 4 cards. End.” she said. “Let’s roll!” he said, as he drew a card. “I’ll play Foolish Burial, and send Malevolent Mech Goku En to my Graveyard. Then I’ll play Call of the Mummy, and summon Zombie Master (1800/0). I’ll also summon Krebons. And now I’ll activate Zombie Master, discard 1 card from my hand and summon Goku En. Now I believe it’s time for a Synchro Summon. I Tribute Krebons and Goku En to summon Nightmare Rider*! (3000/0) Now I’ll attack with my Zombie Master!” “I activate Metal Reflect Slime.” she said, very calmly. “You take 1200 damage.” (6800/8000) “Then I’ll end my turn.” “Then it’s my turn. I’ll activate Ring of Destruction, and select your Nightmare Rider.” (3800/5000)”And I activate Bad Reaction to Simochi. With that, I activate Gift Card. You would gain Life Points, but now you lose them.” (800/5000) “You’re dealing a good play.” Zack was getting thrilled at how he was countered so fast. “I’m not done yet. I play Ookazi. You lose.” (0/5000) Now only fear ran through Zack’s spine. “Hand over your deck.” the girl said.Zack just stood there.“I beat you, and now I’ll take your deck. Of course if you want me to kill you, AND take it, that can be arranged.”Zack shuddered, and gave his deck to the girl.“Thank you.” She disappeared. How could he lose so fast? With a very good hand too. Was he still that weak? And what would happen to his deck? And what would he do now? He couldn’t join the tourney. It was over so fast. He dragged himself through the street, back home. Ivan didn’t even see him, as he was focused on winning. The tournament was tomorrow. And Zack was going to do something about it. He dragged himself upstairs, and went into his room. It was time for that tin box to work for something. He was understanding the cards now, and he could see better combos, combos he could create on his own, freely. No need for a starter deck his friend created. He gazed at the cards, and he now knew what to do.-------------Created Cards of this episode:Nightmare Rider (* * * * * * * *) DARKZombie/Synchro/Effect – ATK 3000 DEF 01 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monstersAs long as this card is on your side of the field, the ATK of Zombie-Type monsters increase by 1000 during your opponent’s Battle Phase, except this card. [spoiler=Chapter 5]Zack still felt traumatized from his instant loss. But new deck seemed better. He spent a whole hour on this deck, and it felt real better. A buzz from his pocket distrupted his long thoughts. It was his cellphone, and Ivan was calling. “What’s up?” Zack asked, rather friendly.“Where are you dude?” Ivan sounded quite worried.“I lost a duel to this mysterious girl, and she took my deck. So I went home.”“What?”“Yeah, odd huh?”“What will you do about tomorrow?”“I made another deck. One that I know how to use better.”“Where did you get the cards?”“I found them this Sunday. They have good use to me after all.”“Uhh... okay.”“Wanna come back, I’ll tell you more.”“Oh you’ll definetly tell me more.” Ivan hung up. And after 15 minutes, the doorbell rang. Obviously it was Ivan. Zack had him sit down, and explained everything. “So, there was another dead guy in that alley?” Ivan didn’t show it, but he was freaking out.“Yeah.”“And that means that there is a link between this girl and these murders.”“Yeah.”“And she let you live because you gave her your deck.”“I guess the dead people didn’t.”“Dude, I’m kinda afraid.”“Chill out. She took what she wanted. She won’t bother me anymore.”“You’re still coming to the tourney, right?”“Of course.”“Cool.”“So, how did your day go?”“I defeated that kid, then I defeated two more. I hope I’ll see some challenge in the tourney.”“Perhaps. My deck looks real good.”“What’s the theme?”“It’s a surprise.”“Okay...” They hanged out for a few more hours, then Ivan left. Zack looked at his deck once again, then put it in the deck slot of his duel disk. Then he went to bed. He woke up quite early. It was 8 AM, and the tourney was at 10. He rushed out of the house in an hour. Gladly the cafe where the tourney was going to be held was close. He ran for a while. The streets were roaming with people, blocking his way. So he took a shortcut. Such a silent street it was. He ran fast, and a steady pace, until he bumped at a tall man, standing on the road. His white duel disk was standing out of the sleeve of his black coat. He had a zombified look on the face his black, straight hair was covering. Zack got kind of afraid. He looked at both sides of the street, and saw the wavy haired brunette that had beaten the crap out of him the last day. She was watching. Zack looked at the guy again. He wasn’t going to let him pass, that was for sure. “What do you want?” he asked. “....Duel....” he mumbled. Zack sighed. “Perfect way to test a new deck.” He said, and shuffled his deck. [spoiler=Chapter 6]Zack went first. “I draw, and set 1 card. Then I set 2 cards and end my turn.”The man drew a card. He placed a monster on his duel disk and muttered these words: “Regenerating Mummy.(1800/1500) I attack.”Is this my deck? Zack thought. Then he went back to reality, and flipped his face-down card. “It was Destiny Hero – Defender. (100/2700) You take 900.” (8000/7100)”The man then placed 2 cards. “Set cards. End.” “My turn.” Zack said, and he pulled a card out of his deck. “I play Chainsaw Insect (2400/0), and activate Greed. Now it’s time to attack!” (8000/6500) “You draw a card.” The man obeyed, and drew a card. “I set 1 more card, and end my turn. You take 500 damage because of Greed. The guy drew another card. Zack added: “Because of Defender, you draw 1 more card.”“I play Call of the Haunted.” he said. “I’ll summon my Regenerating Mummy back. (1800/1500) Then I’ll tribute it to summon Malevolent Mech Goku En.” The guy then smirked. “Now, I play Emergency Teleport, and summon Krebons. I tribute both to summon Nightmare Rider. (3000/0) I attack.” “Sorry. Sakuretsu Armor.” Zack smirked. “Nightmare Rider goes buh-bye. And you could’ve summoned Goku En without tributing.” Zack felt like he heard a small “dammit” from the side. Was she controlling this guy? “I end my turn.” the guy said. “You take 500 more points of damage, because of Greed’s effect. (8000/6000)” Zack added. Then he drew a card. “I play Bistro Butcher. (1800/1000) I attack with Chainsaw Insect!”“No.” the guy said. “I activate Waboku.”“I chain Gift of Greed to it. You draw 2 cards.”The guy growled. “I end my turn, and you take 1000 damage.” Zack said. “My turn.” The guy drew a card, then one more, thanks to Defender, and placed a monster face-down. “End.” He took 500 more damage. (8000/5500) “I’ll go. I’ll play Don Zaloog, and attack with Chainsaw Insect. You draw 1 card.”“It is Spirit Reaper. (300/200) It stays on the field.”“Well I’ll end my turn, and you take 500 more damage.” “My turn. I draw.” He added 1 more draw, once again. “ I play Zombie World, and Paladin of Cursed Dragon. (1900/1200) I attack Don Zaloog. (7600/5000) I set a card, and end my turn.”(7600/4500) “I draw, and activate Lightning Vortex! I only have to discard 1 card from my hand, and your monsters are destroyed.” Zack grinned. “I’ll now attack with Chainsaw Insect (7600/2100), and with The Bistro Butcher (7600/300). You draw 2 cards, and that will be your demise. “I end my t-““I activate Dust Tornado, and destroy Greed. I can then set 1 more card.”“-urn.”“Now I’ll play. I draw 1 more card, thanks to Defender. Now I’ll play Zombie Master (1800/0), and with it’s effect, revive Nightmare Rider (3000/0) I attack your Defender with Nightmare Rider and end my turn.” “Fine, my turn. Bistro Butcher is no use for me, so I tribute it to summon Mefist the Infernal General. (1800/1500) I’ll attack with Chainsaw Insect, to your Zombie Master!” “Thanks to Nightmare Rider’s effect, my zombies gain a 1000 ATK during your Battle Phase.” (7200/300)Zack couldn’t believe himself. How could he forget that?“I play Dark Snake Syndrome.” End. “Fine. I draw. I attack Mefist with Zombie Master, which destroys them both, and attack with Nightmare Rider.” (4200/300) “I end.” “My turn now! We both take 200 damage first.” (4000/100) “Now I’ll set 1 monster, and end my turn.” He would win the next turn. “I draw, and play Regenerating Mummy. (1800/1500) I’ll attack your face-down.”“Are you sure about that?”The guy didn’t respond, but he heard a “What?” from the back.“I know you’re there. You’ll lose any other way. Want to make it now or later?”The man signaled an attack.“Fine. My face-down was Des Koala. You take 400 damage for each card in your hand. (4000/0).” He looked back. The girl was gone. “Meh.” he thought. He looked at the time. “9:55? I gotta run!” he thought. He ran into the cafe. There was a sign, saying Pre-Championship Tourney #15 there. But he was too late. [spoiler=Chapter 7]“C’mon, the tournament only started 5 minutes ago!” Zack tried to reason to the bulky guy standing in front of the cafe.“Sorry man, the duels have already started.”Zack rolled his eyes. What would he do now?“Will there be another one?”“Yeah, but you can’t join it.”“Why?”“You registered to this one. You can only register to one Pre-Championship Tourney.”“What? This is insane!”“Sorry man.”Zack dragged away. This sucked. Why did that girl have to do that? He went home, and threw himself in front of the television. He hated all of this. All of this. In just one week, he started playing a strange card game, averted death, and missed a tournament. And he couldn’t join the next either. He napped for an hour or two, and he woke up, with his cellphone buzzing. Ivan again. “What?”“Dude, where were you?”“I was late, I got disqualified.”“Tough luck man, I won!”“Good for you.”“No matter dude, you’ll join the next one.”“I can’t.”“Why?”“People can register into only 1 pre-championship tourney.”“That sucks!”“Well, I guess I was never destined to play Yu-Gi-Oh.”“Don’t say that.”“Whatever, see ya later.”He hung up, and tried to nap again. He couldn’t. The next day, he was decided to spend his whole day strolling in the street. He was going to get over that silly card game. As he was going down a busy street, he got pulled over to a back alley. “Again?” he thought. It was the girl. This time she was wearing a tight black top, and a frilly black and short skirt. After staring for a couple of seconds, she finally said, “You have to help me.”“About what?” Zack couldn’t make sense. She could’ve killed her, twice!“I failed at killing you, so they’re going to kill me.”“That’s ridiculous!”“Yes, I know, but you must!”“How should I help you? Or even better, why should I help you?”“Look, I know that I did some seriously bad stuff, but I never meant to!”“So?”“I’ve been trying to get the hell out of this “clan” for a while now, and you’re my ticket to do so.”“You didn’t explain why.”“Well, you’re the only person I can trust.”“Oh, you’d do good with not trusting me.”“Well, the person I can trust the most. You don’t have the ability to kill, you know.”Zack gave into his soft side, and perhaps his more masculine side too, well, she was super hot.“...How do you expect me to help you?”“There will be another one of us, coming here to destroy both you and me. If you beat him, he will have to return and tell them that he killed both of us, or he too will be hunted.”“And what makes you think that I can beat him?”“I know you can. I’ve seen how you duel, twice.”Zack felt a bit better. It was nice to hear a compliment about his dueling, he didn’t trust himself that much about it anyway.“...Fine.”“Yay!”Zack didn’t think that this girl would be this... ...much like normal people.“So, when is this guy coming?”The girl looked slightly up, looking very afraid.“Right here.” a bold voice said, from the back. When Zack looked back, he saw a tall, dark man in a black cloak.“So you’re here to kill both of us.” Zack felt adrenaline rush through him, he felt brave too. Perhaps he tried to impress the girl.“Yes, I believe so.” the man said.“You’ll have to duel me first.” Zack yelled.“...Fine.” “Do you guys have to accept duel offers?”“No. It is just that I, Damon have never lost a duel!”“He’s lying.” the girl whispered to him. Zack ignored it.“Well, there’s a first to everything.” Zack grinned. [spoiler=Chapter 8]“I can’t believe I’m doing this.” Zack moaned. His head got clearer in what was going on, and he just put himself into grave danger again. He didn’t have a duel disk, so they sat down on a table nearby. They shuffled their decks, and got ready to duel. “I’ll go first!” Damon yelled, and drew a card. “I’ll set one monster, set two cards, and end my turn.” “Fine. I’ll draw a card, and summon Don Zaloog! (1400/1500) I’ll attack your face-down!” “It was Nimble Momonga. (1000/100) I get my life points increased by 1000, and I can summon 2 more Nimble Momongas. (8000/9000)” Damon yelled. “All right, I’ll end my turn then.” said Zack. “I draw.” Damon was whispering this time. “I play Call of the Haunted to summon another Nimble Momonga, then I’ll play Swords of Revealing Light. You can’t attack me for 3 turns now. I’ll also summon Raging Flame Sprite (100/1000), and attack you directly!” (7900/9000) “Raging Flame Sprite’s ATK increases by 1000.” (1100/1000) He signaled that it was Zack’s move. “My move.” Zack added. “I’ll summon another Don Zaloog.” (1400/1500) “I set two cards and end my turn.” “My turn now!” Damon was yelling again. “I only attack you again with Raging Flame Sprite. (6800/9000) It gains 1000 more ATK. (2100/1000) Turn end.” “Alright. I draw a card.” He saw something he could use. “I’ll play Gravekeeper’s Servant. I Tribute Cliff to summon Mefist the Infernal General. (1800/1700). Turn end.”“I draw, and attack you one more time, with Raging Flame Sprite. I send 1 card from my Deck to attack. (4700/9000) It’s ATK increases once again, by 1000. (3100/1000) I end my turn.” “I’ll go now.” Zack drew a card. He was desperate. “I’ll set 1 card and end my turn.” Damon drew a card. “The card after this is the card that I will use to defeat you.” He showed the top card on his deck, which was marked by a small millennium eye sign. “But wait, you’re using a marked card! That’s illegal!” Zack yelled.“After I win, I’m going to kill you. Is that legal? Do you really think I care about the law?”Zack was outfoxed. But heck, I’ll save the finishing move to that card. I’ll attack again! (1600/9000) And Raging Flame Sprite’s ATK will increase again!” “That might be all that cool, but you did one mistake with attacking. You ignored my field.” Zack grinned. He was showing his two face-up cards, The one that was open before, Gravekeeper’s Servant, and Mirror Force, a new one.” Damon was left startled at how he was distracted by power. Now his monsters was gone, and so was his trump card, The Wicked Avatar. “I…I end my turn…” he mumbled. “Now it’s time to win. I activate Robbin’ Goblin and Call of the Haunted. I summon Cliff back, (1200/1000) and attack with all of ‘em! (1600/4600) “And I send 4 of your cards from the top of your Deck to the graveyard, thanks to Don Zaloog and Cliff. And thanks to Mefist, I can send 1 card from your hand. And 1 more thanks to Robbin’ Goblin. You have nothing to counter me.” Damon snarled. He had no choice of winning. He drew a card. Another The Wicked Avatar. “I end my turn.”“Fine then, I summon 1 Chainsaw Insect (2400/0) and I attack with all 3 of them.” (1600/0) You lose.” Damon just stood there. He did one mistake, and lost.“I’m believing that you heard our logic, and you will go with that, right?”Damon shuddered there. “The only thing worse than losing is dying.” He stormed off. The two of them watched him leave. After a while, the girl looked at Zack, and said “Thanks.” They stared at each other for some time, then the girl just left, without saying a word. “I gotta go, sorry!” she yelled, but Zack didn’t hear him. Zack got kinda bummed out. At least he saved two lives. [spoiler=Chapter 9]Another day had passed, and Zack was getting bored out of his mind. Ivan was out, at a vacation, and his mom was always working. He went to the locals and dueled sometimes, but even that was boring him now. He needed a thrill. Every day went like this now. Until that Saturday, a few hours after his mother went off, the doorbell rang. “It’s probably the mailman.” Zack thought, but he sure wished for something new. He dragged himself from his cozy couch and opened the door. It was the girl. Zack first felt a little embarrassed because he looked extremely sloppy, and tried to fix himself quickly, but stopped trying after seeing the girl’s cute smile. “Need some more help?” he asked, trying to act a little cool. “Not really.” the girl answered.“Then why are you here?” Zack didn’t understand much.“Well, I thought that we never got to introduce ourselves. I’m Lisa.” she said.“Hmm, glad to meet you, I’m Zack.” They shook hands, and smiled for a short time.“Well, then Lisa, would that be it?”“Nope. I also wanted to give you a little thanks for all your help.”“Really? What?”Lisa handed him a piece of paper. Zack looked at it.“You registered me to the Pre-Championship Tourney?”“Well, yeah, it was my fault that you were disqualified in the first place.”“But how did you do that?”“We, I mean the members of Millennia Clan all get one “representative card.” We can get the power of that representative card, and mine was Brain Control. So I worked some magic.”“Wow. You’re awesome.” Lisa giggled. Zack didn’t wait that much before asking, “I’m just curious, what was Damon’s card?”“Metalmorph.”“Hmm, he really doesn’t know how to use it then.”“Have you ever tried to punch him?”“No.”“…”“Oh.”She giggled again. Zack liked her giggle.“Well then, I’ll be off. I’ll be watching you at the tournament, don’t be late!” Lisa said.“All right.”Zack watched her leave for a few minutes, until she disappeared into the street, to close the door. “One hell of a girl.” he thought. But he was extremely happy! Finally one new thing (or two) for his life! He went out, bought some cards with his allowance, which was pretty piled up, because he didn’t spend it for a long time. When he returned, he opened up the packs, and looked at the cards he got, there were some of them that looked interesting, so he put them in a different place, and observed them. “These could work with my deck.” he thought. “But they look incomplete. Maybe if I collected some more of these, then I could make a whole new deck.” he reasoned. But there was no time for that now. He adjusted his deck, made it play a little bit faster than usual. And he was ready. The next day, he woke up early, took his Sunday stroll once again, but without returning home, he directly went to the tournament’s area. This time at a different place, a place called “Card Pub.” Not too far away from his home, he saw it before, but never went in. It was a lit-up place with wooden walls, inside and outside, comfy black chairs and tables, and all the new packs on sale. Some that wasn’t even out yet. A lot of people were gathered there, and the poster “16th Pre-Championship Tourney” was on the outside wall. “This is it.” Zack thought, and enter the crowd. After confirming his registration, he waited for a while. Then he heard someone calling: “Zack Leonard, Jack Yannee, please step out to the duel zone.” It was his turn. He went up, and saw a kid, probably a peer of his, with short, black hair and a dark grey jacket. “You must be Jack Yannee.” he said.“And you must be Zack Leonard. You should know that I’m winning this, no matter what.” Jack was pretty determined.“We’ll see about that.” Zack muttered, as the same voice that called them yelled “Duelists, shuffle your decks, and duel!” [spoiler=Chapter 10]“I’ll go first.” Jack Yannee yelled. “I’ll set 1 monster, and set 1 card. Turn end.”“All right.” Zack drew a card. “I’ll play The Bistro Butcher (1800/1200) in attack mode! And I’ll activate The Secret of the Bandit.”“Nope. I activate Magic Jammer.” Jack smirked. “I discard 1 card from my hand, and end my turn.”“Anyway, I set 1 card, and attack with The Bistro Butcher!”“It was Masked Dragon. I summon Armed Dragon LV 3 (1200/900) from my Deck.”“Fine, I’ll end my turn now.”“All right, my turn!” Jack said, as he drew a card. “I’ll activate my Armed Dragon’s effect to Special Summon Armed Dragon LV 5. (2400/1700) And I’ll activate Level Modulation. You draw 2 cards, and I can summon Armed Dragon LV 7 from my Graveyard! (2800/1000) Now I’ll activate Armed Dragon LV 7’s effect. I’ll discard 1 card from my hand (Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV 8) to destroy your monster. Now, both my monsters attack you!”“Not so fast. I activate Mirror Force. Your monsters are destroyed.”Jack was frustrated, but not hopeless. I’ll play another Level Modulation then.” he said. “You draw another 2 cards, and I summon Armed Dragon LV 7 again. Then I’ll summon Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV 4 (1600/1000) from my hand. I’ll set a card, and that’s it.”“My turn now!” Zack drew another card. “I’ll play Gravekeeper’s Servant, and set 1 monster, and set 3 more cards. That’s it.”“Bad move. My turn!” Jack drew another card. “I attack with Armed Dragon LV 7!”“I activate Karma Cut.” Zack discarded a card from his hand. “Your Armed Dragon is removed from play.“Then I’ll chain Call of the Haunted to that.” I bring my Armed Dragon LV 5 back, and attack with Horus.“First, I activate Robbin’ Zombie, and Greed.”“Fine, my attack still stands!”“My card was Destiny Hero – Defender. (100/2700) You take 1100 damage. (8000/6900) You also must discard 1 card from the top of your Deck, thanks to Robbin’ Zombie.” Jack did feel locked when Destiny Hero – Defender was flipped, but now that his Armed Dragon LV 10 was destroyed, he felt awful.“It’s my turn now.” “He drew a card, he liked his hand! “I set 3 cards, and a monster and end my turn.” He had only 1 card in his hand, and Jack had 4. He was going to take advantage of that.“I draw.” Jack said. These cards weren’t going to help him get through the lock. “You draw 1 more card, thanks to Destiny Hero – Defender’s effect.”“Fine.” Jack said, and drew a card. This wasn’t going to help either.“I’m assuming that your set monster is another trap, so I don’t even dare attack. But I do activate Armed Dragon’s effect and destroy your Defender by discarding this card from my hand. And I end my turn.“My turn!” Zack was thrilled as he drew his card. “I set 1 more monster, and activate all 3 of my set cards!” They were all Gift of Greed. The crowd oooh’ed. “That means you draw six cards.”Jack did as he was told.“And I’ll play Card Destruction, from my hand. You discard all of those cards, and draw new ones.” Jack discarded the ten cards he had in his hand, and drew 10 more.“I’ll now flip summon my set card, Des Koala. (1100/1800) You take 400 damage for each card in your hand. (8000/3100) Now I end my turn.”“And the ending of your turn means my defeat.” Jack mumbled under his breath.“Yes. Thanks to Greed, you take 500 damage for each card you drew during this turn, and I believe you drew 16 cards. That is 8000 damage, right?”Jack moaned as he admitted defeat, and left the stage. (8000/0)Zack looked around, smiling as the crowd cheered him. His eyes were looking for Lisa. He couldn’t see her at first, but then he noticed a girl sitting on one of the booths, watching the duels as she sipped her coke. There was Lisa, with another tight top and frilly skirt, as always. It was going to be some time until his next duel, Zack thought. He went next to her, without being noticed. But she noticed him, and looked at him, with charmed eyes.“You were awesome.” she finally said.“Thanks.” Zack blushed a bit. They watched the other duels, talking about this and that, and soon, as time flied away, it was Zack’s turn again. “Well, I gotta go again. Cheer for me.” said Zack, playfully.“Sure.” Lisa noticed that she reflexfully held Zack’s hand, but she quickly pulled it back, blushing. Zack smiled and walked away, he didn’t believe that he was starting to like the girl that tried to kill him, twice a few weeks ago. [spoiler=Chapter 11]Zack walked up to the duel zone, once again, hearing the cheers that were the remnants of his last triumph. He did pull an epic win. He wished to pull another. He didn’t look at his opponent until he placed his deck into his duel disk, but then he looked up, He saw another boy of his own age, he was definetly softer than Jack, and even looked a little nerdy, but his eyes were glowing with passion, and Zack understood that he wasn’t going down easily. “Hi. I’m Jordan.” the guy said, completely sure of himself. They shook hands. “My name’s Zack.” he replied. And with the caller shouting “Duel!” all that pre-duel softness went off, and the rush of the duel began. “I’ll go first.” Zack yelled. “I’ll summon Don Zaloog in attack mode!” (1400/1500) “And I’ll set 2 cards. That’s it.”“I’m next then!” said Jordan, as he drew a card. His hand didn’t look too well, but he could change that. “I activate Card Destruction!” he said.“I’ll chain Greed to that.” Zack mumbled. They both threw their cards, and drew the same amount.“Now I’ll activate Premature Burial!” Jordan yelled again. “I summon T.A.D.P.O.L.E. from my Graveyard. (0/0) And I tribute it to play Des Frog (1900/0), and activate it’s effect. Thanks to Card Destruction, I now have 2 T.A.D.P.O.L.E.s in my Graveyard. And because of that, I can summon 2 more Des Frogs. I attack with all of them!”“Not so fast. I activate Waboku.” That was a new card he pulled from the packs. “Nothing happens to my monsters.”“Fine, I’ll set a card and end my turn.”“Not just that, because you drew 5 cards, and I drew 3, thanks to Greed’s effect, we both take 500 damage for each card we drew. (6500/5500)” Zack added. Jordan growled, and Zack drew a card. “I’ll summon Chainsaw Insect, and put Don Zaloog into defense position.” (2400/0) “Now I attack one of your Des Frogs.” (6500/5000) “You draw a card.” “That’s it?” Jordan asked.”“No way! I’ll now activate my set card, Disturbance Strategy! Send all 6 of those cards to your Deck now, shuffle it, and draw 6 more.”Jordan understood what his opponent was doing. He had no counter moves.“I’ll set a card and end my turn. And that means that you take 3000 damage. (6500/2000)”Jordan didn’t make a big deal out of it. “I summon Dupe Frog. (100/2000) I also activate Polymerization!” I fuse my Des Frogs, and Dupe Frog, which counts as Des Frog to summon D.3.S. Frog! (2500/2000) Not just that, I activate Lightning Vortex, and discard my Treeborn Frog to destroy all monsters on your side of the field.” Zack quietly sent his monsters to the Graveyard. “Now thanks to Treeborn Frog being in the Graveyard, my D.3.S. Frog’s ATK increases by 500! (3000/2000) Now I attack you directly!” (3500/2000) “That’s all.”“Not all for me. I activate Gift of Greed. You draw 2 cards, which means that you take 1000 more damage.” (2500/2000) Zack added. Then he drew a card, and realized what he had to do. “I’ll set 1 monster and 3 cards. Turn end.” “Ha!” Jordan yelled. “My turn, and I play Mother Grizzly! (1400/1000) And I attack your face-down card with it!”“You just made my win easier. It’s Des Koala.” (1100/1800) “Not only that you take 400 damage for battling it, you also take 1600 damage for those 4 cards in your hand. You lose.” (2500/0) People cheered for him again. That certainly felt awesome. He went to Lisa again. It would be some time until he dueled, as always. They chatted for half an hour. Zack felt closer to her every second he was with her. After some thinking, he finally gathered some courage, and asked her: “Would you… …umm… sometime… …you know…” He never could ask someone out. He hated his shyness. Then the caller guy called him for a duel again. “Phew!” he thought.“Sorry about that. I gotta go.” he said. He felt awful. As he walked back to the duel zone, he heard her voice: “I’d love to! When?”He didn’t look back, but a grin now replaced his shy face. He stepped onto the duel zone, with even more cheering people. [spoiler=Chapter 12]Zack held himself not to yell out “YES!” as he looked at his opponent. He defeated his 2 former opponents in very different ways, and thus was cheered even more. This time, he had an even more serious opponent against him. He was tall, skinny, and wore a dark brown sleeveless shirt. “Zack Leonard, Nate Daniels, commence dueling!” the caller announced, and Zack went first. “I’ll draw!” he said. “I’ll set a monster, and set a card. That’s it.” Nate observed, his opponent seemed a little defensive. “I’ll draw, and Special Summon Evil Hero Infernal Prodigy, because I have no monsters on my field. (300/600) And I’ll Tribute it to summon Evil Hero Malicious Edge! And with Infernal Prodigy tributed, I can draw 1 card. Now I’ll attack with Malicious Edge!” “My card is Des Koala.” (1100/1800) “You take 400 damage for each card in your hand, and you have five, so you take 2000 damage.” Zack added.“That might be cool and all, but my Malicious Edge does piercing damage to you.” Nate smirked. (7200/6000) “I end my turn.” Zack drew a card. His opponent threw out a strong one from the first turn, and his deck’s idea was to win before people took out their big shots. “I’ll activate Card Destruction. We both discard our cards and draw new ones.” Now this hand seemed better. “I activate Flint, and equip it to your Malicious Edge! It’s ATK drops by 300, and it can’t attack.” Zack observed the calmness of his opponent. He was doing something wrong. “Not only that, I summon Chainsaw Insect! (2400/0)” Zack said. “I also activate Robbin’ Zombie. I attack with my Chainsaw Insect.” (7200/5900) Your Malicious Edge is destroyed, and because of Chainsaw Insect’s effect, you draw a card. But thanks to Robbin’ Goblin, you also send the top card of your deck to the Graveyard.” His opponent’s face hasn’t changed yet. “Is that all?” he asked.“Not yet. I set 1 card, now I’m done.”“Fine.” Nate said, as he drew a card. “I play Pot of Avarice. I can return 5 cards back to my deck, shuffle it, and draw 2. And what luck, I play Dark Calling! So, I send 2 Evil Hero Malicious Edges from my Deck to summon Evil Hero Malicious Fiend! (3500/2100) I’ll attack your Chainsaw Insect now. (5800/5900) “Okay, I equip Flint on Malicious Fiend. And I also set a card.” (3200/2100)“I activate Mystical Space Typhoon as a last notice, and destroy your Flint. And I end my turn.” (3500/2100) Zack drew a card. “This will make me survive one more turn.” he thought, as he set his monster. “I end my--”“Nope, you have to conduct your Battle Phase, because Malicious Fiend is on the field. All your monsters are flipped face-up, and must attack!” Nate yelled, enthusiastically.“But, my monster was Destiny Hero – Defender!” (100/2700)“That’s too bad.” (2400/5900)Zack looked at his hand. He had another idea. “I’ll set this, and end my turn.” “This is endgame now.” Nate snarled. “I attack you directly!”“Mirror Force.” Zack smirked as he flipped the card face-up. Nate was shocked. But he regained his calmness in a few seconds, and said “I end my turn.” Zack felt like his opponent was going to be much more harder. But his field was empty! “I activate my other set card, Greed! And I’ll summon The Bistro Butcher! (1800/1200) Of course, I attack you directly. (2400/4100) You draw 2 cards.” Nate understood what his opponent was doing. He had to take action, fast. “I end my turn, which means you take 1000 damage, thanks to Greed.”Nate drew a card. “I play Elemental Hero Clayman, (800/2000) and activate Dark Fusion. I can now summon, by Tributing Clayman and discarding Burstinatrix, Evil Hero Infernal Sniper! (2000/2500) Not only that, I activate Miracle Fusion, and remove Clayman and Burstinatrix once again to summon Elemental Hero Rampart Blaster! (2000/2500) I destroy your monster with Rampart Blaster, and attack you directly with Infernal Sniper! (200/4100) Then I end my turn.” Zack drew a card. He had collected what he would need to win. “I set 3 cards, and I set a monster. That’s it.” Nate was getting power-hungry. He didn’t realize that he could switch Infernal Gainer to Defense mode and win, he had to attack. “I draw, and attack your set card with Infernal Gainer!” “I had set another Destiny Hero – Defender. (100/2700)” Zack smirked. “You take 700 damage.” (200/3400) “Then I end my turn.”“Before you do that, I’ll activate 2 Gift of Greed. You draw 4 cards. Not only that, I activate Disturbance Strategy, so you send your hand to your Deck, shuffle it, and draw the same amount. And thanks to Greed, you take more than 4000 damage!” (200/0) Nate looked at his opponent, then at his field. He could’ve won. He looked at his opponent. Zack gave his hand to Nate, asking for a handshake. “Save it.” Nate whispered and he stormed off. Zack looked at Lisa once again. “Back to hanging out with her until it’s my turn.” he thought, but as he stepped out, the caller announced: “All quarter-finalists, please stay inside of the Duel Zone.” He felt too shy to get near her anyway, so he went with that. The last duels went a bit shorter, and it was now time for the semi-finals. His name was announced again, and he was faced with a rather shady man, wearing a dark hood, with a black coat, and black jeans, similar to Damon’s, who he had faced a few days ago. He dialed a number from his small cellphone, and said “One target confirmed.” His voice wasn’t like Damon’s. This was someone else. He quickly gazed at Lisa, she was trying to make herself unseen as much as she could. Then the man looked behind, and saw her. “Sorry sir, both targets confirmed.” he muttered. “Destroy both of them.” a deep voice came from the cellphone, and the guy hung up. This was the Millennia Clan. The guy snarled at Zack. “What… do you want from us?” Zack asked him, terrified. He didn’t answer. Instead, he drew his five cards. [spoiler=Chapter 13]“I ask you again, what do you want?” Zack said, as he too, drew 5 cards. He felt someone tug at his free arm. He looked back, to see Lisa.“I should’ve guessed that Damon would talk.” she muttered. “This is all my fault, I should’ve taken matters into my own hands.”Zack observed her. She looked calm, but he could feel how terrified she is. He couldn’t calm her down, as he was terrified too, was caught by surprise, and didn’t know if he would win. He could finally say: “Who... is this guy?”“Limix, a high-class Millenia.” she answered quickly. “Even if you defeat him, they won’t stop chasing us.”Zack looked back at Limix, who was gazing at him. “I ask you one last time, what do you want? Can you even speak?” he yelled.“The girl is a fugitive of Millenia, and must be executed. But you on the other hand, have something we need.”“What is that?”“Something in your deck.”“What?”“That information, you will never know. Now duel me!”“All right, all right.” Zack muttered. He turned at Lisa, and asked “Any tips you can give me?”“It would be helpless.” she said.“It wouldn’t.” he growled.“Well, his card is Mind Haxorz, and his deck consists of cards that limit your abilities. Now he knows that you know that.” she whispered.“Ugh...”“Well, don’t be so pushy.”Zack looked back at Limix. He seemed bored. So did the audience. They didn’t understand anything.“Fine, let’s duel.” Zack said, and drew a card. “I’ll set a monster, and set two cards. I end my turn.”“I’ll draw.” Limix muttered. He squinted at Zack. His field... Des Koala, Gift of Greed, and Robbin’ Zombie. “His hand won’t help him.” he thought. And he knew how to counter that. “I play Heavy Storm. Your face-downs are destroyed. I also activate Toll, and set 3 cards. I also set a monster. Turn end.” Zack felt like his strategy was ruined. “I’ll Tribute my face-down monster to summon Mefist The Infernal General. (1800/1700) I attack your face-down monster.”“Thanks to Toll, you pay 500 Life Points. Also, my card is Mystic Tomato. With it’s effect, I can Special Summon another Mystic Tomato.” Linix said.“Yeah, but Mefist the Infernal General can do Pierce damage. (7500/7200)” “Fine, I chain my Anti-Spell Fragnance. You must set Spells before activating, just like Trap Cards.”“I set two cards and end my turn.”“I’ll also activate Xing Zhen Hu. You can’t activate those two set cards.” “It’s my turn now.” Limix said. “I activate my last set card, Embodiment of Apophis. I can summon it to my side of the field. (1600/1800) I Tribute it to summon Vanity’s Fiend (2400/1000). Now neither of us can Special Summon. I attack your Mefist the Infernal General, with Vanity’s Fiend. (6900/6700) I also attack directly with my Mystic Tomato. (5500/6200) I end.” “Uhh, I play Chainsaw Insect. I attack your Mystic Tomato. (5000/5200) I end.”“I’ll draw, and I’ll set a card. That’s it.”“My turn. I’ll set two cards and end my turn.”“My turn again. I’ll activate Pot of Greed, which I had set before. I summon a face-down card and set a card.” Linix squinted at Zack again. He was afraid. Very afraid. He felt like he would take damage if he attacked this turn. Linix tried to keep that illusion in his opponent’s head real.“I’ll set one more monster, and...” He looked at how Limix stared. “...I’ll end my turn.” “My turn now.” Limix said. “I’ll Tribute my set card to summon Jinzo(2400/1500)! Both our traps are negated. But I can fix that, for I activate Amplifier, which means that my traps can still activate. Now, Vanity’s Fiend, attack his Chainsaw Insect, and Jinzo, attack his set monster!” (5000/4200) “Turn end.” “It was Don Zaloog...” Zack said as he put his monsters into his Graveyard. He looked at his hand. No monsters left. He couldn’t play his traps. He had to set his spells. Nothing could save him. “I end my turn.” he whispered. “I’ll attack with both my monsters.” (800/3200) “That’s all.” Zack drew another card. Lightning Vortex. It wouldn’t help him. “I... end my turn.” he said, desperately. “I’m sorry.” he thought to himself, as he looked at Lisa. She stared at Linix with her raging brown eyes. Limix drew his card. “I’ll--” He looked around him. It looked like time had stopped. Everyone was frozen, and so was Zack. This wasn’t his doing. Was it Lisa? He looked at her. She tucked something into the large pocket of Zack’s cargo pants, and then she approached Limix. “Wh..What are you doing?” Limix yelled. He never saw her this aggravated. As she got closer, she threw her hand at him, and the hand started glowing. Soon the glow turned into a flash. Zack could hear people asking what’s going on. What was that flash? He looked forward. Limix was gone. So was Lisa. “Umm, well, Limix seems to have forfeited and gone, the winner is Zack!” the caller announced, extremely surprised. People were quite at first, they didn’t get what happened. Soon a few claps filled the room. Zack went down from the duel zone. 32 players had joined, and he had 4 duels. 32...16...8...4...2. He was a finalist. But where was Lisa? [spoiler= Chapter 13,5]The back exit of the cafe, leading to a downtown alley, was usually abandoned, due to all the lonesome darkness that lurks around the place, and the awful garbage smell. This time somebody was in there. The boy, with the brown sleeveless shirt listened to the cheering coming from the cafe, with his head steered a little to the direction the voice was coming from. Someone else had won. Someone else that wasn't him. He sighed, and looked forward. He felt like he needed to go home now. As he was walking out of the dark street, he bumped into a rather shady man, with a black coat and black pants. He saw one of these guys in the cafe, yet this one was different. He was way larger, and had red eyes. He whispered in his bold voice:"Are you Nate Daniels?""Yes, I am." Nate snarled at him. He was pissed off already."You lost because of this kid, right?" he showed a photo of Zack."Yes. He ashamed me in front of my crowd!""We both want something he took. Your pride...""...and your what?""Everyone's desires should be kept to themselves.""So, what do you want from me?""I want your power. To help me and you, get back what we need.""What will I get for it?""Your pride as a prize. But as an advance, I'll give you this." He handed him a shining white card."And what if I refuse?""Then you suffer the fate that he will suffer, with or without you.Nate didn't get it. They could do what they wanted without him, but if he joined them, he would get that card."I'll take it.""Good. We'll tell you when it's time."Nate took a time to look at the card. He felt magically attached to that card, like someone stopped time for a while, and he looked at it the whole time. He sighed again, and put the card in his deck box. He went off too, as more cheering came off.

EnkoMaun
From now on, I'm posting chapters 14 and forward here.I'm going to use my own created cards from now on. Here's a link to the thread where all these cards will be:http://forum.yugiohcardmaker.net/thread-139321.html[spoiler=Chapter 14]Zack was kind of startled, everything just happened in a split second. He looked at the empty duel zone from the corner he sat in. They were taking a break. He needed that break. He was happy with the silence that let him think through what happened was distrupted when an older guy sat next to him. He wore a leather jacket, and had dirty spiky hair. “You seem distressed.” he said.“Yeah, a little bit.” Zack answered.“It is mysterious that your opponent just forfeited while he was winning.”Zack felt a bit suspicious. “Who are you, anyway.”“I’m Risho. Risho Adamari.”“And why is this Risho Adamari guy so concerned about me?”“Because I’m your opponent in the finals.”“That might be cool and all, but it doesn’t answer my question.”“I hate dueling distressed people. They never duel to their fullest. I want you to fix that.”“How?”“Just throw your feelings away, and give your focus to the cards!”Zack felt calmed. “Thanks. I will do that.”“Good.” Risho smiled at him and went off. This state of confusion made him very frustrated, he wanted to know where Lisa had gone. Everything was turning up so good... “But that Risho guy is right.” Zack thought. “I lost one thing, I’m not losing another!” He gathered himself togehter and got up, flexed his arms to throw the stress out, and looked at his deck, browsing through the cards one more time. “One more fight.” he thought to himself. He placed the deck back onto his duel disk. He took a few deep breaths, as he heard the caller yell out “Risho Adamari, Zack Leonard, please step onto the duel zone.”“Gather yourself togehter.” Zack told himself, and he got up the duel zone, the small wooden platform in which he experienced the 4 biggest challenges of his life. “I’m going first, if you don’t mind.” Risho grinned. He was still gentle even on the duel zone.“Sure, no problem.” Zack replied. “Fine then, I’ll draw, and play Iron Chain Repairman (1600/1200). I also set a card and play Card Destruction. I draw 4 cards, and you draw 5. Finally, I’ll activate the card I just set, Monster Reborn and summon another Iron Chain Repairman. (1600/1200) I set a card and end my turn.” Zack wondered how he could counter. “I draw!” “Because I have Malice Ascendant in my Graveyard, you send 1 card from the top of yor Deck to the Graveyard.” Risho said.“Damn.” Zack muttered as he sent Mirror Force to the graveyard. “Then I’ll play The Bistro Butcher(2400/0) and attack your Iron Chain Repairman!”“Nope. I’ll activate Waboku! You’re not doin’ anything!”“All right, I’ll set a card and I’ll end my turn.” “My turn, I’ll summon Iron Chain Snake! (800/1200) I equip it to your Bistro Butcher, and it’s ATK and DEF drops to 800. (1000/1200) Now I attack you with Iron Chain Repairman. (7200/8000). Thanks to Iron Chain Snake, you send cards from your Deck equal to the Level of Bistro Butcher, which is 4, right? That ends my turn.” “I’ll draw,”“And you send 1 more card from your Deck.”“Sure. I’ll activate Gravekeeper’s Servant. And I set 2 more cards, and I activate my set card, Greed. I too, will activate Card Destruction, we discard our hands, I draw 1, and you draw 4. I’ll also set a card and end my turn. And with Greed, you take 2000 damage, while I take 500. (6700/6000)” “Nice move.” Risho was still smiling. “But now it’s my turn. I’ll Special Summon Iron Chain Snake from my Graveyard, thanks to Iron Chain Repairman’s effect. I’ll also attack with my other Iron Chain Repairman!” “You send 1 card from your Deck to your Graveyard, thanks to Gravekeeper’s Servant. Oh yeah, my card is Destiny Hero – Defender. (100/2700) You take 1100 damage. (6700/4900)” “Oh, well, I play Heavy Storm and end my turn.” “I draw, and I know, I’ll discard 1 card from the top of my Deck.”“Nope, you’ll discard 2. I have 2 Malice Ascendants in my Graveyard now.”“I’ll play this, Chainsaw Insect! (2400/0) I’ll attack your Iron Chain Repairman. You draw a card. (6700/4100) And I end my turn.” “My turn, I’ll set a monster and end my turn.”“Here I go, draw, and discard 2 cards.”“Good, you’re learning it.” Risho mocked him.“I’ll attack your Iron Chain Snake with my Chainsaw Insect. Once again, you draw a card.” (6700/2500)“Is that it?” Risho was getting bored.“Yes, I end.”“Now it’s my turn, I set a card, and that’s it.”“I’ll draw, and discard 2.”Risho smirked. Zack ignored him.“I’ll Tribute Destiny Hero – Defender to summon Mefist the Infernal General (1800/1700). I—““No. I’ll activate Torrential Tribute. All monsters on the field are destroyed.”“Erm... I end my turn.” Risho laughed. “I don’t seem to have any monsters in my hand. I end my turn!”“I’ll draw, and discard 2, once again.”“Nope, now you discard 3.”“What, how?”“My face-down was Malice Ascendant!” Risho smiled.“And, umm, I end my turn too, I don’t have any monsters. “I’ll draw, and play Iron Chain Coil. (1100/1600) It’s effect lets me increase it’s ATK by 300. I’ll attack you directly! (5300/2500) I’ll end my turn.”“I’ll draw, and discard 3 this time. I have to end my turn.”“I’ll draw, and attack you again. (3900/2500)”“Now it’s my turn, and...” Zack looked at the field. It didn’t seem bright.“Well... umm, I’ll play it to the edge. I draw, and discard 3, and I’ll play Chainsaw Insect. I’ll attack your Iron Chain Coil. (3900/1200)“That was a good play.” Risho said. “But it’s the end now.”“I know.”“I’ll end my turn.”Zack’s hand went to his deck. There wasn’t a deck anymore. He looked back at Risho and smiled.“Risho Adamari wins the duel!” yelled the caller.Risho went next to Zack.“Well, I think I want a rematch sometime.” Zack said.“Later, when you feel you’re able to.” Risho smiled. As people celebrated Risho, Zack slowly dragged himself outside. He stopped when he heard someone saying: “Hey, you came second, don’t you want your prize?” “Sure.” Zack whispered. He looked back at the cheeky, tall girl who gave him a bag, with 10 packs inside. The same as he bought the day before the tournament. He returned home and threw himself into the couch. He thought about the stuff that just had happened. He didn’t mind losing the tournament, he came so close. He was proud to do such a thing in his first time. The real thing that was boggling him was Lisa. He liked her so much, and now she was gone. He looked at the 10 packs he just got. He opened them up, and once again, looked at the cards he got. More of those cards which he thought were an incomplete set. He collected all of them togehter, their strategies now felt clearer. “I think I’m going to make these into a deck!” he thought to himself. He was going to beat Risho the next time. He sat down, and started working on it. As the hours passed he didn’t notice his mother coming in. He was going to make this deck perfect. Finally, at 9 pm exactly, he looked at the now completed deck. A complete mill deck, not a scrambled one like his old deck. Soon, he was bored of admiring the deck. He tried to sleep early, but he didn’t feel sleepy. Then he thought. Linix had said to him that he had something he wanted in his deck. He wondered what it was, his deck didn’t contain that many rare cards. “Maybe it’s in the box.” he thought. He browsed through all the cards, there wasn’t anything that was vital to someone’s life. He decided to look at the box a little. Just a black tin box. He swept his hand through the inside of it, and he felt a tiny bulge around the right side of the box. He pulled it, and a thin piece of the side went out, with the bulge. He looked inside to see two very shiny cards. One was a spell card, and one was... a white one. “A Synchro monster.” he thought. He observed the effects throughly, they seemed to work with his new deck. “I’m going to be up all night, thinking what to put away.” he moaned to himself. Now his deck was ready. [spoiler=Chapter 15]Zack was ready to test his deck as soon as he got up and gobbled his breakfast. He rushed on his way to the locals. Dueling was the only thing taking his mind off Lisa. As he was walking, he heard a soft voice calling him.“Hey, are you Zack?”A short girl, with straight, slightly curvy blonde hair, deep blue eyes, a childish face was calling him. She wore a grey blouse, and tight jeans.“Yes, this is Zack, who are you?” he asked, as he approached the girl.“I’m Elena, Ivan’s sister.”“Ivan’s sister? Ivan never told me that he had a sister.”“Oh really?” she chuckled. “Wonder why?”“Man she’s hot.” Zack thought to himself. Maybe that’s why.“So, umm, nice to meet you.” She was constantly playing with her hair.“Yeah. So, is Ivan here?”“Yup. But our parents aren’t. They stayed for one more week, but sent us here.”“Hmm.”They looked at each other for a second. Zack wanted to keep on talking, but couldn’t find anything to talk about.“Umm, so, how old are you?”“13.”“Wow, your parents didn’t bother rushing, did they?” She laughed. “It wasn’t funny.” Zack thought.“And when’s Ivan coming?” he asked.“Soon. I’m here to stall you.”“Fine then, I’ll wait.” Zack grinned at him. They stood there for ten minutes, then Elena’s cellphone buzzed.“Message from my brother.” Elena said. “Oh, he won’t make it for an hour or so.”“How bad.” Zack thought. He looked around the street, not that many people were around. Then he saw a shady man walking into a back alley. “No... it’s them again.” he thought. “I have to follow him, maybe I’ll get a chance to find Lisa...” he told himself. “I’m so sorry, but I... umm, have to go.” Zack said.“Well, I have nothing to do, can I come?” she asked.“It wouldn’t be safe.”“What can be that dangerous?”Zack thought. It felt like nothing was going to sway her.“Actually, see that shady dude over there?”“Yeah?”“He is connected to this gang, and I have something they want. And they have something I want.”She looked at him with an empty face, but then she started smiling. “Come on, I’m not that young to believe that!”“I’m sorry, but you can’t come!”“But...”“Please don’t push it.” Zack asked her, softly this time, he didn’t want to hurt her feelings.“...okay.”“Thank you. Stay here, and wait for Ivan, okay? I’ll be back after a while.” Zack looked at the man again, he was just waiting there. He started walking across the street, at the man, and he started moving. “Time to follow.” Zack thought, and slowly walked a few feet behind him. The streets were crowded already, typical for a Monday morning, which helped him sneak better. The man walked straight forward for a few minutes or so, and then rushed off into a back alley between two appartements. Zack rushed behind him, and stood there still, until the man noticed him. He turned his head at Zack, whose bright brown eyes were staring at him. “Just the man I’m looking for.” he thought to himself, as he saw the startled face of the man that took away his Lisa away from him. “We meet again, Limix.” he snarled at him.“Yes we have.” Limix whispered.“What did you do to Lisa?”“What did I do to her? You should had asked what she did to me.”“What?”“Because of her, they counted me as a failure, and now I can’t go back to the Millenia.”“What happened to her?”“The Millenia took her. She was a fugitive of the Millenia.”“Where is your... headquarters?”“You’ll have to duel that out of me. And this time, you don’t have your stupid girlfriend to help you.”“Don’t worry, this deck’s a new one. It will beat you down.”Neither of them had duel disks, so they found a table somewhere near, and put their decks down.“Then let’s duel.” Limix smirked. “Now I can get my redemption back!” [spoiler=Chapter 16]“Man, they just put a table into every single back alley, don’t they? Zack thought, as he drew five cards, and drew a sixth. “I’ll set a monster, and two cards face-down. That’s it.” he said. “My turn! I’ll play Patroid (1200/1200) in attack mode!” Limix said.“Your Mind Haxorz is gone, isn’t it?” Zack mumbled. Limix ignored him.“Thanks to it’s effect, I can look at one of your face-down cards. And I’ll look at your monster!” Limix picked up the card and looked at it. He wasn’t familiar with the card. “Something worth destroying.” he said. “I attack your monster with Patroid.”“You might know already, but my card is Umbral Soldier. (800/600) Thanks to it’s effect, I can send 2 more Umbral Soldiers from my Deck to the Graveyard.”“All right then, I’ll activate Ancient Telescope. I can see the top five cards of your deck, and return them in the same order.” Limix said as he picked up Zack’s deck. “And I’ll set a card and end my turn.” “My turn.” Zack said as he drew a card. “I’ll set another monster for now, and set one more card. That’s all.” “You’re playing quite slow.” Limix mocked him, and drew a card. “I’ll activate my set card, Fruits of Kozaky’s Studies. I can look at the top 3 cards of my Deck and put them in any order.” He gazed at the 3 cards. “And I’m keeping this at top.” he smirked. “I’ll look at one of your face-down cards.” “I’m getting bored of that. I activate Penumbral Chaos. I discard 1 card from my hand, negate Patroid, and destroy it. All other Patroids in your hand or Deck are destroyed too.” Zack said.“Fine. I’ll activate Embodiment of Apophis, my set card. I’ll summon it in attack position. (1600/1800). I’ll attack your set monster.” “Sorry. It was Kiekho, the Umbral Necromancer. (1000/1800) So you take 200 damage.” (8000/7800) “All right, I end my turn.”“I draw, and activate Kiekho’s effect. I remove from play the monster I discarded before, Droqqi the Umbral Bandit to Special Summon Umbral Soldier from my Graveyard. (800/600) Now I Tribute it to summon Erconus the Umbral Swarmer! (1800/1600) Not only that, I’ll activate Terraforming to take Undome to my hand, and activate it!” Limix was shocked. How could the boy he had faced 2 days ago could have evolved so much? “Now thanks to Undome, I can activate a spell card that I had set a while ago. Dark Labyrinth of Undome. And by that card’s effect, I can pay 500 Life Points (7500/7800) to send your monster, back to your hand, and Special Summon one of my own. So I summon Berjjaim the Guardian of Undome. (1500/2200) Normally, it protects Undome from getting destroyed, but here, I’ll tune it with Kiekho to summon Egos, the Umbral Blademaster! (3000/2000)” Zack took a quick gaze at Limix. He was afraid. “Now, I attack with Egos. And you have a choice. You can send the top 2 cards of your deck to the graveyard to negate my attack, or take it full force.” Zack smirked. “I’ll...” Limix knew that the card on the top was essential, because he had put it there. “I’ll let you attack.” (7500/4800) “I’ll also attack with Erconus.” (7500/3000)“And I’ll end my turn. You should’ve negated the attack, because thanks to both Erconus’ and Undome’s effect, I can send cards from the top of your deck. Erconus will send one for each Umbral Soldier in my graveyard, and Undome will send 1 for each on my field. That makes 5 cards.” Limix growled as he threw the 5 cards to the Graveyard. “And I end my turn.” Zack grinned. Elena had sneaked behind Zack, and finally dared to watch what was going on. She couldn’t see what cards were played, but from the looks of it, Zack was winning.“He must be an awesome duelist...” she whispered to herself, charmed. Then she realized that she talked aloud and rushed to the back of the wall, trying to hide herself. But neither did notice her. “I won’t lose!” Limix cried. But then he looked at his hand. “I’ll set a monster, and set a card. That’s it.” “I’ll draw.” He had got the exact card he needed. “I’ll play Umbral Chain Grab, and destroy your set card. I’ll attack your set monster with Erconus.” “My monster is Mystic Tomato. (1400/1000) it’s destroyed, but I can summon another one.”“I’ll attack your other Mystic Tomato with Egos.”“Well, this time I’ll send 2 cards from my Deck to negate it.”“Fine, I’ll set another card and end my turn.”“I’ll draw, and Tribute my Mystic Tomato to summon Jinzo, and it’s effect activates!” (2400/1000)“No. I’ll activate another Penumbral Chaos. It’s destroyed, and so are all the Jinzos in your deck.”Limix growled. “I’ll end my turn.”“I’ll summon Roujann, the Umbral Blader (1900/1200), and attack you directly.” (7500/1100) “You send 2 cards to the Graveyard thanks to it.”“I’ll also attack with Erconus, and you lose.” (7500/0) [spoiler=Chapter 17]Elena watched as Limix, baffled with his defeat, just looked at the field with wide open eyes. She watched as Zack got up from the table and grabbed Limix. He yelled: “Where is she?” Elena felt like something inside her started crumbling. “Oh.” she thought. “Maybe it’s one of his relatives or friends or something...” she tried to convince herself. Meanwhile Elena was trying to make sense to things, Zack was still expecting an answer from Limix. “I asked you, where?”“10281 Preston Avenue.” Limix whispered. “That... is... our hangout...” Zack smirked a little, and threw the feeble man down. He had a lead, and that felt good. As he stepped out of the alley, an excited Elena grabbed her arm and smiled “You were awesome!”“What? You watched me?” Zack said, startled a bit.“Yes I did. And you were... umm... great!”“Did Ivan come?”“No.”Zack took out his cellphone, and dialed Ivan’s number. After a minute, he picked up.“Yeah?”“Are you coming dude?”“I saw you guys just now.”“Umm, okay.”Zack looked around himself, and spotted him. They waved at each other, then Ivan rushed next to them, his duel disk strapped on his left arm.“I see that you met my sister.” Ivan smirked.“Yup.”“So, what’s up?”“I’ll need your help.” Elena stared at them emptily as they talked about what was going on. She didn’t listen. She really liked this guy, and now she was wondering if she even had a chance. The unclarity of everything was bugging her. “Dude, we’re risking our lives.”“We’re good duelists. We can win them through.”“I know I am.” Ivan grinned as Zack sighed. “I don’t know if you are.”“You’ll see later. Let’s go!” Ivan approached Elena, who was standing a bit far away from the two, and said “You go home, okay, sis?”“No, I’m coming with you guys.” Elena mumbled.“She is really tough to convince, that’s all I learned in the last hour I spent with her.” Zack grinned from the back. Elena grinned back.“You’ll follow us even if we leave you here, right?” Ivan sighed.“Yup.”Ivan sighed again, and muttered “Okay, you’re coming with us.” Then he turned to Zack and said “10281 Preston Avenue, right?”“Yeah.” Zack answered.“It’s not too far from here.” Ivan knew every single street in town. “We can walk there, it’s a 10 minute way.”“Fine, let’s do that.” They walked silently, and reached an outcasted and broken building made of almost rotten and broken wood, and the whole avenue was almost empty, except for a few cars rushing around here and there.“Are you sure this is it?” Zack asked Ivan.“Well THIS is 10281, Preston Avenue.” Ivan said, quite surprised.“We should go in!” Elena said as she rushed to the door of the ruined building, and tried to open it, which wasn’t locked, to their surprise. They stepped in after Elena. The room they got into was slightly illuminated by dim sunlight through a small window. From what they could see, it looked like an old bar. They walked around, looking at the walls. Zack spotted a tiny illustration on one of the walls, that looked like a wdjat eye. He touched it, and a part of the wall next to it went up. “Of course. Secret passageway.” Zack muttered. “Hey guys, over here!” he called the two. They walked to the corridor that was opened, which was better illuminated than the first room. The one corridor soon separated into many, and they couldn’t choose which way to go. “I hear footsteps. Hug the walls!” Ivan whispered, and they did so. Zack watched the two silhouettes walk next to them, not seeing them. One was tall, and one was shorter, and looked like a girl. Zack observed closer, and saw the frilly skirt of the girl. “It’s her.” Zack whispered to Ivan. A cold chill went down Elena’s back. They waited until the footsteps faded, and they tiptoed through the corridor. It was long, and led into an even larger room. The room was lighted too, with large metallic bleachers, filled with black coated people that covered the black walls. In the middle of the room was a big white stadium, and in the side of the stadium was a large throne-like chair, in which another black coated guy sat on. In the middle of the stadium stood a tall fellow, someone which Zack seemed to recognize. And the shady guy and Lisa walked into the stadium. The guy pushed her forward, and sat on one of the bleachers. A deep voice yelled “Today, we shall observe a duel of punishment and acceptance! Our newest member, Nate Daniels, is going to face the traitor to prove himself in a struggle of life and death!” Ivan looked sadly at Zack who was pretty much startled, as roaring cheers rose from the bleachers. “Give me your duel disk.” Zack whispered, firmly.“Dude, you’re not going to...”“Give me the duel disk!”“Fine...” Ivan strapped his duel disk off and handed it Zack. Zack took it and placed his deck.“You guys should get out.”Ivan nodded, and Zack walked to the stadium as he strapped on the duel disk. “Commence dueling!” the deep voice yelled, as Zack barged into the room. Every single person in the room looked at him. Zack gulped. He was never good in crowds. “Umm... let me fight for her!”“The deep voiced man, who was sitting on the throne/chair, laughed, and said “Why should we do that?”“Because I have something you want.” Zack muttered as he flashed a synchro monster from his pocket. Everyone gasped.“If I win, you let her go. And if I lose, I’ll give it to you.”“And take your life.”“Umm... okay...” Zack sighed. “I guess vital danger is always a requirement for you guys. “Zack...” Lisa whispered, as she looked at Zack with awe. She started walking out as Zack walked in.” As they got closer to each other, Lisa held her hand, and whispered “Did you find the note I gave you?”“No.”“Did you look at your pocket?”Zack was glad that he was wearing the same pants he wore at the tournament. “Thank you, laziness.” he thought.“Ivan’s around here. Find him, and get out.” Zack whispered, as he let go of her hand, and kept on walking, slowly. He took out the scruffy note inside of his pocket, and looked at it. It wrote: Don’t worry about me. <3 u 4ever – L. and a shiny monster card. He quickly placed it on his deck, and finally stepped onto the duel zone. Nate was looking at him with deep eyes. “He certainly looks different than the time I dueled him.” Zack thought. “So, am I dueling him?” Zack asked the guy at the throne/chair. “No. A traitor savior like you should be taken care of by a person of higher rank.”“Who?”“Me.”“But sir!” Nate moaned.“You’ll be accepted later.” the man said, and activated his duel disk. Instead of other Millenia duelists, he wore a dark purple cloak, and black shoulderpad armor pieces. He had long white hair and had one red shining eye, the other was a golden eye replica. “I am guessing that you’re the leader.” Zack said, kind of boggled by the replica eye, not understanding what it is.“Yes. And you have done a mistake by challenging me. You mortals have no idea of the mystical world that surround you, and we, the Millenia, the Superior, who have the ability to use the powers of the mystics, shall become in control of this rip-off card game of the mystics!” “That was a long speech.” Zack muttered as he activated his duel disk. Meanwhile, Lisa ran the other way, to the exit, and bumped into Ivan and Elena, who were also walking out. Ivan was the first to figure out that the short girl in front of him was Lisa, whom his friend has told much about. “Umm, you must be Lisa.” “Yes, and you must be Ivan, Zack’s friend, right?”They shook hands.Elena cut in, slowly mumbling. “Hey.” as she too shook Lisa’s hand.“Hey to you too, umm...”“Elena.”“...Elena. We should get to know each other better, but first we have to get out of here.” Lisa said, sounding more firm than before. The two siblings nodded, and they started walking out of the road they came in from. Just as they were reaching out, they heard a voice, yelling out “Hey!”The three turned back to see two dark coated men. One was tall, while the other was shorter and chubbier. “Where do you think you’re going?” one of them shouted.“You’re not going anywhere, without dueling us.” the chubby one howled. “I don’t have a duel disk.” Ivan muttered. The taller one pointed one of the walls, where a few duel disks were hanged. Ivan picked up a black one. “So, we’re tagging, huh?” Ivan said, he still felt odd, talking to the crush of his best friend.“Yeah.” Lisa answered, as she activated her duel disk. “These ones I can beat.” [spoiler=Chapter 18]“I don’t want to duel here, though.” the leader announced. “Here, come with me.” he whispered boldly as he swept down the stadium, as a pathway to a small corridor opened. Zack tried to reason, but he didn’t. “Probably because he doesn’t want to be humiliated.” He followed him, as the audience boo’ed. “SILENCE!” the leader spat, and everyone went quiet in a second. “Follow me.” he then added, calmer now. They went through the corridor, which took longer than Zack imagined. Meanwhile, the duel near the exit of the base had started already, and Ivan had already placed a monster face-down, and 1 card set. “To counter that, I play Frontline Base, and Special Summon Burning Beast with it!” the chubby one proclaimed. (1500/1000) “And I also play Solar Flare Dragon (1500/1000), and thanks to it’s effect, you can’t attack it, because Burning Beast is on the field. I now attack your monster with Burning Beast!”“It’s Hyena. (1000/300) I can summon 2 more.” Ivan said.“Then I’ll set a card, and end my turn. Because of Solar Flare Dragon, you take 500 damage. (7500/8000) Lisa drew a card, and yelled “I’m up! I’ll set 3 cards, and set a monster. That’s it.” “Do you always play this slow?” Ivan asked her. Lisa didn’t answer. The taller one drew his card, and yelled: “I’ll activate the Frontline Base’s effect, and summon Freezing Beast, and equip it to Burning Beast. I’ll also summon Cure Mermaid! (1500/800)” I’ll attack you with Solar Flare Dragon!“No. I activate Mirror Force!” Ivan cried out. All your monsters are destroyed!“I’ll chain Macro Cosmos!” the chubby one yelled. “My monster won’t be destroyed, they will be removed from play, and because I have Freezing Beast equipped to Burning Beast, Freezing Beast will be destroyed instead.”“That’s fine.”“And because of Macro Cosmos, I can special summon Helios – The Primordial Sun!” (300/300) the chubby guy yelled out.“And I will end my turn.” the skinny one smirked.“Fine, I’ll now play Gilasaurus. (1400/400) And because you have no monsters in your Graveyard, you can’t summon anything due to it’s effect. I now Tribute all 3 of my monsters to summon The Wicked Dreadroot! (4000/4000) Now the ATK of Helios and Burning Beast are halved. (150/150) (750/500) And of course, I attack Helios! (7500/4150) And that’s it.” “Now, I’ll draw, and activate Lightning Vortex! All your face up monsters are destroyed, which means that Dreadroot goes bye-bye.” the chubby guy proclaimed. “And that means that the stats of Burning Beast is restored. (1500/1000) I now attack your set card!” “It’s A Cat of Ill Omen. (500/300) I take this Trap Card, and put it on top of my deck.” Lisa muttered. “Then I’ll end my turn.” “And I’ll go.” Lisa said as she drew the card she put there. “I’ll set this too, and end my turn.”“What? What kind of a play is that?” Ivan yelled.“Trust me.” Lisa said, looking into the eyes of the skinny one. “I’ll draw then.” the skinny one yelled, and drew a card.“And that’s all you needed to do.” Lisa said, as she flipped 3 of her face-down cards face-up. Everyone looked at the cards, Bad Reaction to Simochi, Gift Card, and D.D. Dynamite. “Now let me explain.” Lisa grinned. Thanks to D.D. Dynamite, you’ll take 300 damage for each card removed from play. (7500/2950) And thanks to Bad Reaction to Simochi, you’ll lose Life Points instead of gaining them. And thanks to Gift Card, you take 3000, instead of gaining it! (7500/0)” All 3 players, stared at Lisa. “Let’s go.” she said, as she poked Ivan, and they left the corridor.Ivan dragged himself behind her. They went back into the dark room where they came from, after a short walk, and went out of the building, to see a waiting Elena. “You guys won?” Elena asked.“Yeah.” Ivan answered.“So, what do we do now?”Ivan turned to Lisa.“We wait for him.”“Fine...” The long corridor, dimly lit, had finally ended, and Zack, sighed out as he held his sore legs. The leader didn’t look tired one bit. He took out a brooch with the wdjat insignia, and another pathway opened. They got into a small room, lit by a white lamp, with a table in the middle. “Take off your duel disk. We duel on the table.” The leader muttered.“Uhh, okay.” Zack said as he took off the duel disk. They sat down on the table. Zack looked at the large, square face, lit by the white light, which sheerly looked back at him with confidence.“You know, even though we steal cards from people, each and every Millenia fights with pride!”“Sure. Let’s duel.” Zack muttered. [spoiler=Chapter 19]Zack wasn’t freaking out, and that was really weird for him. He was facing the leader of the gang which almost killed him, for like three times now. But still, he still had his slightly careless look on his face, he didn’t seem to care about this duel. Perhaps because his heart was clear now. “I’ll go first, and I’ll summon Droqqi the Umbral Bandit (1200/1600) in attack mode.” Zack mumbled, and slapped the card on the table. “I’ll also set a card and end my turn.“I’ll go.” the leader roared, and drew his card.“Now it’s your Standby Phase, and you have to discard a card.” Zack said.“And what if I don’t?”“Then the ATK of Droqqi doubles.”“Fine. I’ll gladly discard a card.” He put a card in his graveyard. Zack looked at it. “Skull Servant?” he thought.“Then I’ll set a monster, and activate Veil of Darkness. I’ll also set a card and end my turn.”“All right, now I’ll play Roujann the Umbral Blader. (1900/1200) And I’ll attack your face-down monster!”“It’s Mystic Tomato. With it’s effect, I summon a Skull Servant. (300/200)”“What?” Zack yelled. “Are you not taking this seriously?”“I am taking it very seriously, Zack.” the leader answered calmly.“Because I destroyed Mystic Tomato, Roujann’s effect activates. You discard the top 2 cards of your deck to the graveyard.”“Not if I activate this.” he roared, flipping a card face up. It was Divine Wrath.“Now I discard this and your monster’s effect is negated, and it’s destroyed.”“Fine, I’ll also attack your Skull Servant with Droqqi. (8000/7000)”“I don’t have much to say for that.” the leader smirked, as he placed the skull servant on the graveyard.“That’s all.” Zack finished. “Now, I draw.” the leader roared, and he immediately placed a monster on the field. “Meet the King of the Skull Servants! It gains 1000 ATK of each Skull Servant in the Graveyard. (2000/100) Now I’ll attack your Droqqi! (7200/7000) And I’ll end my turn.”“I’ll set a monster, and end my turn.” Zack couldn’t do much. “Fine.” the leader said, and he drew a card. “Because I drew a DARK monster, I can discard it to draw one more card.” he said, as he discarded The Lady in the Wight into the graveyard. “And did I tell you that The Lady in the Wight is counted as Skull Servant in the graveyard? That increases the ATK of my monster by 1000! (3000/100) And I’ll also activate Opti-Camouflage Armor on the King. It can attack you directly now.” (4200/7000)“Is that it?” Zack mumbled.“Yes.”Zack didn’t like the idea of losing now. He drew a card, he drew one of the cards he had found in that secret compartment of the box. He observed it, it could work! “I activate One Grave Mode!” he yelled. “And all of your cards that are sent to the Graveyard are sent to mine instead, from now on. I’ll also activate these two.” He showed two spell cards from his hand, Undome, and Dark Labyrinth of Undome. “Now, with the Labyrinth’s effect, I can pay 500 Life Points, send your King back to your hand, and summon an Umbral monster from my hand, which will be Umbral Soldier. (800/600) Thanks to his effect, I tribute it to send 2 of them from my Deck to my Graveyard. And I’ll also tribute my face-down card to summon Erconus the Umbral Swarmer. (1800/1600) Now I’ll attack you directly with it.” (3700/5200) “Very good play.” the leader roared, and clapped his hand.“Because of Erconus’ effect, I discard one card from your deck to the graveyard, my graveyard for each Umbral Soldier in my graveyard. That makes three. The leader didn’t make a sound, and sent the three cards. There was one Lady in the Wight and one King of the Skull Servants in them.“I end my turn, and that also means that you send one more card.” Now it was Skull Servant. “I’ll finish you! I summon my King of the Skull Servant back on the field. (3000/100) And I’ll attack your Erconus!” (2500/5200)Zack watched as his opponent panicked. “I’ll draw a card.” Another shiny card, but he hadn’t got this from the box. He remembered what Lisa told him. Perhaps it was this card. “I’ll set a monster and end my turn.” he ended. “I’ll draw.” he looked at what he drew, and his eyes grew. “Why did I activate Veil of Darkness!” he roared, as he punched the table. The cards shaked. “I have to discard this, to your Graveyard, and draw a new card.” he muttered, and he placed another The Lady in the Wight to his Graveyard, and drew a card. It was another Lady in the Wight.“ARE YOU KIDDING ME?” he roared, and he discarded it to draw another card. He calmed down, because it wasn’t a dark monster. “I’ll attack your set card now.” he said, breathing through his nose.“It’s Yggdrasil Seed. (1500/1300) It’s destroyed.” Zack said.“And I’ll end my turn then.”“Now it’s my turn, I draw, and because it’s my Standby Phase, I have to pay 600 Life Points to keep Undome on the field, and I can also Special Summon Yggdrasil Seed back onto the field.” (1900/5200)“You don’t know what you’re doing.” the leader muttered.“Don’t I? Because now I’ll summon Jaemm the Umbral Summoner to the field. (1000/1000) And I believe it’s finally time to summon this card that I kept for a while. He sent both of his monsters to the graveyard. He took a white, and extremely shiny card from his pocket, and slapped it on the field. When it embraced the white light, a wdjat insignia started glowing on the card.” They both looked at the picture of the swirling, snake like dragon, held onto the ground by many dry roots, with dark blue scales, small mechanical looking arms and a golden mask, shaped like a dragon’s head, on the card.Zack finally said: “It’s Yggdrasil Dragon. (0/0)” He counted the cards in his graveyard, only 11. “Tch.” he thought to himself. Then he continued: “If I had 20 or more cards in my graveyard, it’s ATK would be 3000, and I would be able to defeat you. But instead, I’ll activate it’s effect, and Special Summon a monster from my Graveyard, which would be your all-time favorite King of the Skull Servants. Now let’s count, how many Skull Servant monsters do I have in my Graveyard? I count 4, and that settles the ATK of the King. (4000/100) I attack your King with my king. (1900/4200) And I’ll end my turn.” “I’ll draw…” the leader mumbled. He looked at his hand. It was over. “I end my turn.” “Now, I’ll summon Kiekho the Umbral Necromancer (1000/1800) and attack you directly with both him and King of the Skull Servants!” (1300/0) The leader looked exhausted, panting.“Here are your cards.” Zack said, as he salvaged out the cards from his graveyard, and handed it over to him. He looked at him for one second, he looked even worse.“Dude, you just lost a card game.” He looked around the table. The card, Yggdrasil Dragon was shining even more, and the wdjat insignia was now shining with a small tone of… …black? The leader cried out, then his body, now empty, slammed to the table. Zack picked up all his cards, and put Yggdrasil Dragon into the small pack he used to keep his synchro cards, which was in his pocket. The wdjat insignia was gone. “This is what you deserve.” Zack mumbled, and made his way out of this weird headquarters.
