Sparta™
I say keep it the same. Most 18 year olds are dumbasses who know nothing of responsibility (assuming the new drinking age would be 18 ). Hell' date=' I would even recommend raising the drinking age but that's just my 2 cents.[/quote'] You sir, are win.

ragnarok1945
It's not like underage drinking is rare these days anyway. Maybe it's at 21 because we know there's going to be too many underage drinking. Therefore, if it's lowered to like 18, then the 12 year olds will start drinking because it falls to their underage range. Besides, plenty of 18 year olds who drink only see the thrill side, not the consequence side of it. Thus it's pointless to lower it. Keep it the same. Twin_Souls
hmmmm there are 2 sides i thinkin france kids are aloud to drink wine but it is also the contry with the most drinking acridents so i think it should stay the same
Dark
Before I get into this debate, note that I will only be talking about drinking at a certain age, not drinking and driving together, because when you drink, nothing happens that compels you to drive, and even when you are drunk, you have some amount of sense not to be a dumbass and drive (I got drunk once). Absolutely. There is no sense in having it that high. At the very least' date=' it should be lowered to 18. If I can join the army, as well as vote for who I want to run my country, then I should damn well be able to buy myself a drink.[/quote'] This is a perfect post. There is only one problem. The current drinking age is 21. And 18 year olds are fighting for a lowering in the drinking age, and their arguement? OMGAKITTY's post, and they claim they are responsable. IF the drinking age becomes 18... 16 year olds will fight for a lowering in the drinking age. Their argument will be responsability. IF the drinking age becomes 16... 13 year olds will fight for a lowering... Get the pattern? Once you give in to 18 year olds, younger kids will have more of an arguement. I think by 21, you are mature enough not to be a complete idiot and get wasted and do moronic things. I am not even 18 yet and I know how much alcohol is too much. Luxlord
In most states you can legally have sex/procreate at the age of 16.But you have to be:17 to legally go see a rated R movie and buy an M rated videogame by yourself18 to do alot of crap I'm not going to post. 21 to legally drink a glass of beer/wine wut? Dark
I have an idea that works. Wine is obviously stronger than beer. So keep wine at 21. Turn beer into 18. Put a limit on the amount of beer one can drink. The limit becomes unlimited at 21. Does that make any sense?
Lord Ursus
Yes, it does. In Norway, the drinking age is 18, but I know for a fact that even 8th grader at my old school eventually get hammered at private parties. I'm sure that's somewhat common for some of you here, but personally, I think 14-year old children should not drink alcohol. At the age of 18, you come of age, and have to take responsibility for your actions, so I'll say 18 is best.
Dark
I'm 15, and I drink alcohol, albeit in minor portions. I feel that 21 is a bit too old for BEER, but since wine is stronger, it should be held off until 21.
