Force_Flex
Hello, this is the first (as far as I know) short story contest on YCM. My club The Wolves Pack decided to have a short story contest. Here, YOU get to vote. The club members will PM me their stories, and I'll put them in the first page. And you, will get to vote.

Why the caged bird singsImagine yourself, a man in a big world. This story is 3 days of your life. You’re laying in an open field where animals roam free. Here you can escape reality. You look up and to your surprise there before you is a beautiful young black haired, purple clothed, widow that looks a lot like your dead wife. Being a widower you understand the pain she must’ve gone through, “hello”, you say to her. All she responds with is “do you know why the caged bird sings?” You look at her and try to understand the question and respond “no.” She runs off and leaves you confused. You just let it go and go to bed, it’s late. Its morning and you go into town with only a faint memory of the lady. When you reach the town and go into a restaurant for breakfast. The waiter brings the food you asked for; eggs, sausage, and no drink. You eat and leave your tip. A few hours later you go into an Italian restaurant and ordered spaghetti for lunch. You left your tip and left, but when you walked out of the restaurant you see the same black haired woman before you. She walks up to you and asks “do you know why the caged bird sings?” You think about yesterday and answered “no.” You spend the rest of the day pondering the question and looking for an answer. Its morning again and you skip breakfast to keep looking for your answer and ask yourself “why does the caged bird sing?” Then you remember that that’s what your wife use to say and try to remember what you would say. You tried and tried, but failed and had no answer. You leave your home at lunch time and go to get some books from the library. And there at the door is the lady, dressed in the clothes that your wife had on the last time that you saw her. She walks over to you and puts her and on your cheek, “do you know why the caged bird sings?” Seeing a copy of your wife before you jogged your memory and you say “to be heard.” She gives you a big hug and says that she’s your wife, but isn’t really here. She says that she really is dead, but she’s still with you. After that you both head to your home and you write that answer down. You resume your life as if she was really there and never forgot the phrase, “the caged bird sings to be heard.” THE END Winner gets 3 reps and 100 points2nd place gets 2 reps and 50 points3rd place gets 1 rep and 25 pointseveryone else will get 10 points for participation. It will end on the 24th.
