Monqiue01
I am deeply in love with poetry and am really good at it but all I really can do is write them and post them. I would love to make it a career choice but I highly doubt that's possible. I want to be recognized and known because of my poetry. Are there ANY Poetry lovers here that may be able to help me. I am Natasha Leatherman and I am a Poet.Heres a poem of mine i made a couple of minutes ago. The Heavens Are Smiling I lay on the concrete that had been twisted from it's warm blanket like surface to a pebbly texture with a dropping temperature.I search the sky for a culprit when it caught my eye,a canvas of grayish-blue clouds covered the sun that lay in the peach stretched sky. What seemed to be a wide wound layed in the center of the clouds, gashing through the massive cut was smiling rays of gold from the sun."The heavens are smiling" I thought, smiling at what The Beautiful Mother Nature birthed: Me

OMGAKITTY
Poetry is a completely unprofitable career to pursue >_> I respect that you have a passion for something, and want to pursue it though. I relate.
Willieh
The only ways I can imagine someone profiting from poetry is if they wrote songs or perhaps a book of short stories/poems. Or maybe if you entered poetry contests that rewarded with cash.

Death Metal
I never did have a taste for poetry...it's hard for me to grasp the point of a poem. Plus most poems are all depressing, which makes me depressed. =/ Just keep it as a hobbie. Making it a career choice would be like dropping out of high school because you think you'll become famous when your older.

Keros
I had gotten into poetry for a time and even had 2 of them published, one was online and the other was in The English Journal. Ever since then I've tried to get poetry and short stories published with no luck. Publishers aren't looking for my kind of work. I suggest writing something comtemporary/modern. Womi
The only good poem is:Eat beans and onions and horribly fart. This is the horrible stomach-gas art. But youre somewhat talented. Not good as job, though; maybe you can become comedian? Or waitress?

Poetry is an Eden of your own Expression and Emotions. It is truly a beautiful thing once you recongnize. It could a sun setting, or a moment you'll never forget, or a feeling you've never felt before. It's truly amazing. And the best peot in the world HANDS DOWN IS...ROBERT FROST. Raelen
It's great to like writing poetry although it's hard to make it in that buisiness. Find a fallback idea just in case.P.S. There is a poetry club in the Club section. You should check it out! I think it's on the second page.
