Dark Balter the Terrible cannot be summoned by the effect of Instant Fusion. Instant Fusion states that the Special Summon it generates is treated as a Fusion Summon. Dark Balter the Terrible states, in the very first line of the effect text "This card cannot be Fusion Summoned except by fusing the listed Fusion Material monsters".

That is right, Balter doesn't work...if you still want an Instant Fusion-able Demon/Fiend you can always use Barox...who has horrible stats and no cool effect whatsoever but he does allow you go get OHED out with Gale.
