Chapter 3 “Forced leave. Tommy vs Claywide! A all the way to Z!”

 

At one morning, Tommy and Ashley woke up in their rooms. They didn’t see anyone further, while normally Leo, Leonard and Mary would sleep here as well. “Where are Leo, Leonard and Mary?” Ashley jumped out of bed, took on some clothes and then Tommy realized it as well. “They are leaving today, aren’t they?” Ashley nods.

 

Leo, Leonard and Mary were on the verge of stepping aboard the submarine, when Leo saw the duel-spirit of Tommy, Y-Dragon Head, flying towards them. “Hey, guys, hold on. I think some people want to say goodbye.” It was indeed that some people wanted to say goodbye, Tommy, Ashley and Soull (Tommy`s younger brother) came to them.

 

“We don’t want you to leave, but I guess we cannot stop you from leaving.” Leo nodded. “If there was a way you could come with us, we would have applied that way, but I guess there is none.” Ashley hugged Mary and at that moment an instructor came to them. “I am sorry, guys, but we really need to go now.” Leo nodded and they all gave eachother one final hug and then they moved into the submarine. They gave eachother one final look and then the submarine dove into the ocean.

 

Some later Tommy and Ashley sat at a bar and talked about the leave of their friends. “Well, we should at least try to get to surface as well. There is some big tournament coming up and if my guess is right Leo, Leonard and Mary will enter it.” Tommy nodded and stood up. “I’ll be back.”

 

In the meantime were Zade and José causing trouble again. They lost to a female first-year. “I want to go to the surface, now!” José stopped her brother from attacking the girl. “She is not worth it.” “Hey, you two!” Zade and José turned around. Instructor Claywide appeared. “You have low grades, you are fifth years and still you use old tricks to get what you want?” Zade and José didn’t reply. Claywide shows them his dueldisc. “I’ll make you a deal. When you win you get great marks on your next test, when I win you get a one-way ticket out of here.” Zade and José looked at eachother and nodded. “Let`s do this then.”

Claywide drew a card. His duelspirit, Dark-Magician appeared next to him. “It is not, my friend.” Zade and José looked at eachother. “Who is he calling friend?” Claywide held up a card. “I summon Skilled White Magician (1700/1900) in attackmode and set two cards facedown. I end my turn.”

 

“Zade, your turn.” Zade nodded and drew his card. “I summon Mystic Tomato (1400/1000) in defencemode and activate the spellcard Pot of Greed.” “Good, that allows me to activate the trapcard Counter-Strategy Green. For each spellcard you play my monster gets one spellcounter.” “So what? I play one card facedown and give the turn to you, José.” José nodded at her brother`s remark.

 

“I summon Warrior of Zera (1600/1600) in attackmode. I activate the spellcard Gracefull Charity and draw three cards, just to discard two.” Another light on Skilled White Magician was lit. “Hey, do you know your magician is lightening up?” Claywide nodded. “Then I play Pot of Greed and draw two cards.” The third light on Skilled White Magician was lit and it was surrounded by white light.

 

“What the hell is going on?” Buster-Blader appeared next to Claywide as a duelspirit.

Buster-Blader, a purple and yellow metallic warrior appears on Claywide`s side of the field. “Okey, now we need some explanation.” “I can only say one thing, read the rulebook.” José took a card from her hand and set it facedown. “I end my turn.”

 

“I play Fissure to destroy Mystic Tomato and Skill Cancel to negate the effect of Mystic Tomato.” The red tomate was destroyed. Then I set two more cards facedown and summon a monster in defencemode and end my turn.” “My turn!” “Wait, I activate Dark-Safe and tribute my facedown monster and your Warrior of Zera to summon Dark-Magician from my deck!” The purple spellcaster appeared. “Now, Buster-Blader and Dark-Magician can attack you directly!” Zade`s lifepoints dropped to 0.

 

“Wait, you did not play through the rules.” “You didn’t play through the rules either, so I gave you your own strategy against you!” José drew a card and saw she had nothing to play with. “I end my turn.” “Now, Dark-Magician and Buster-Blader attack José directly!” José`s lifepoints dropped to 0 as well.

José – 0

 

Zade and José dropped their dueldisc`s and dropped on their knees. “Well, I guess it is over then.” Claywide nodded and deactivated his dueldisc. He signalled to two guards. “Take these two to the spare sub. Set coordinates for North Pole, to the Ice-Academy.” José and Zade looked up. Ice-Academy? That`s the place where people are sent who are rendered useless by the academy-staff.

 

At that moment Tommy and Ashley enter the arena where the duel just took place. “What the heck is going on there?” Ashley shook her head, pointing out she had no idea. “You are both expelled to North Pole Ice Academy.” Tommy and Ashley looked at eachother. No, they could not let that happen. “Teach!” Claywide looked up and saw Tommy and Ashley approach. “Later, mr. Flourish. Let me handle those two.”

 

“Teach, I want to get to the surface as well.” “Mr. Flourish, you should know that you can’t. You are still fourth-years.” “Yes, sir. We know, but it is just that we have friends up there and we want to be with them. Leo, Leonard and Mary are the most important people to us.” Mr. Claywide looks at them. “Okey, I give you a chance. If you beat me in a duel, you may go. If not, there will be no more visits to the surface until you graduated.” “Yes, sir. One more thing, if I win, Zade and José are free to go as well.” Mr. Claywide nodded. “So be it.” They both stood by their dueldisc`s.

In the meantime the family of Leo was dinning, while Leo arrived at the place. He knocked on the door and his mom opened it. “Leo?! My god, you’ve grown up!” She hugged her oldest son. His father appeared as well. “My son! It seems you have graduated then.” Leo smiled and nodded. “Yeah, mom, I am back.” He hugged his father as well. “Where is Susie?” “She is dining. She’ll be happy to see you. She wanted to go to the Academy just to meet you again, but she was never allowed.” Leo followed his father and mother inside and entered the dining room.

 

“Guess, who`s back?” Leo looked around. He saw familiar faces, his 7-year old brother, who was 2 when he left, his youngest sister Carrie who now is 9 and of course his favourite sister Susie, who now reached the age of 14. “Leo!” Carrie immedietly hugged her big brother. “We never thought you would return.” “Well, I am back.” Susie was silent and then stood up and went out of the room. Leo wanted to go after her, but his mother stopped him. “The shock to have you back is to big for her.” Leo nodded.

Back at the Academy, Tommy prepared to make his first move. “I summon X-Head Cannon (1800/1000) in attackmode and play Frontline Base, allowing me to summon Y-Dragon Head (1500/1600).” The blue cannon-holding monster appeared and next to him the red dragon-like machine appeared. “I combine them to XY-Dragon Cannon (2200/1900). Then I set one card facedown and end my turn.”

 

“Good, my move. I summon White Circle Magician (500/500) in attackmode and set two cards facedown.” A small winged magician appeared in white robes. “The special ability of my magician allows me to attack directly, lowering your lifepoints to 3500.”

Tommy – 3500

 

“Then I play Magician`s Formation, allowing me to summon a Dark Circle Enchanter (500/500) in attackmode. And this monster`s special ability allows me to attack you directly and force you to discard a card.” While his lifepoints dropped to 3000, Tommy was forced to discard his Z-Metal Tank.

Tommy – 3000

 

“By the look on your face I think I just forced you to discard a good card, didn’t I.” Tommy sighed, that`s true, but he was not done yet. “I play Call of the Machine, allowing me to summon back my Z-Metal Tank and combine him with XY-Dragon Cannon to XYZ-Dragon Cannon (2800/2200). However at the end of this turn I must send it to the graveyard.” The combined form of X,Y and Z appeared. “Now I play Pot of Greed and draw two cards and discard three in order to destroy three cards on your field!” Both magicians disappeared and so did the other facedown card. “Now I attack you directly!” Claywide`s lifepoints drop to 1200.

“Way to go, Tommy.” Then on Claywide`s side of the field, Dark-Magician appeared. “What?!” “Special ability of Dark Circle Enchanter. When both he and White Circle Magician send to the graveyard at the same turn, I can summon any spellcaster from my deck.” He drew a card. “I play Magical Formula and increase my magician`s attackstrength to 3000 and destroying your XYZ!” Tommy`s lifepoints dropped to 2800.

Tommy – 2800

 

Tommy drew a card. “This is not over yet. I summon A-Track Driller (1500/1800) in defencemode. This allows me to summon a union-monster to the field. So come on out B-Bomb Diffuser (1000/2000). Now combine to form AB-Track Diffuser (2100/1900). This card can automatically destroy a monster on your side of the field.” Dark-Magician was destroyed. “The only downside is that I have to pay 600 lifepoints in order to keep AB-Track Diffuser on the field.

Tommy – 2200

 

“I set one card and I end my turn.” Claywide nodded and drew his card. “I play Monster Reborn to bring back Dark-Magician.” The purple-robed spellcaster appeared again. “But it won’t stay here long, as I activate Dedication through Light and Darkness, tributing Dark-Magician in order to summon Dark-Magician of Chaos (2800/2600). Now destroy his AB-Track Diffuser with Dark-Magic!” Tommy`s lifepoints dropped to 1500.

Tommy – 1500

 

“Now, when a monster is destroyed by DMoC, it is removed from play.” “I play Call of the Haunted in order to bring back my XYZ-Dragon Cannon!” Claywide held up one card. “I set this card and end my turn.”

 

“My turn!” Tommy drew a card. “I summon V-Tiger Jet (1600/1800) in attackmode and then I play W-Wing Catapult because of Frontline Base! Combine to VW-Tiger Catapult (2000/2100).” “Now you have two monsters, so what? They stand no chance.” “Oh they do, prof. I combine them to VWXYZ-Dragon Catapult Cannon (3000/2800).” The huge metal robot appeared. “Now I have one last addition, Twin-Cannon Turret Mode. First I remove X-Head Cannon from the game in order to increase the attackstrength of my V-to-Z combination to 3500. Then I remove my Y-Dragon Head in order to allow VWXYZ to attack twice. So first of all destroy his DMoC!” DMoC was destroyed.

“And now for the finishing blow. Attack him directly!” Claywide`s lifepoints dropped to 0.

Claywide – 0

 

“Congratulations, mr. Flourish. You beated me. According to our deal, you, mrs. Callon and those two fools are allowed to go to the surface. Good luck, students and you will always be welcome here.” Tommy, Ashley, Zade and José stepped in the sub and the sub left the academy. “Well, Leo. We are on our way.”
