[Raelen] Gooloo

If this card is Special Summoned, Special Summon up to 2 "Gooloo" from your hand or Deck. If this card was Flip Summoned, increase this card's ATK by 1000.

You don't need the "to your field" thing. Where else would you Special Summon thing? Special Summon it to the Graveyard? Don't see it happening. =P

The balance is kinda bust. If it is special summoned right at the end of the Battle Phase when the opponent can't do anything, then you get a free superpowered monster at the end of the turn with that kinda Trivute available. If you made it a FLIP card, then people at least have a chance of preventing that. Something like:

FLIP: Special Summon up to 2 "Gooloo" from your hand or Deck. Increase this card's ATK by 1000.

Would be perfect. Plus, there are very, very few FLIP cards on the site, so I'd give you kudos in the originality department.

Pic is really nice, it's good to see something that doesn't look incredibly intimidating for a change.

Originality is high, although there are quite a few low leveled searchers, they aren't in the same vein as this one.

OCG: 9/10

Pic: 10/10

Balance: 7/10

Originality: 9/10

87.5%, which means that is very nice little card you have there.

Thaynx for comments and rating!

You need to add "to your field" or "to your side of the field" because there are some cards that you control that are Summoned to your opponent's field. It basically has to be included for clarification to any card.

Most cards that have the effect of Special Summoning activate during your Standby Phase or Main Phase although some Trap cards activate during your opponent's turn. I admit that, if a Special Summoning Trap was used, this card could be extremely effective in summoning a strong, higher level card.

If I did make it a FLIP monster as you suggested, the Flip effect would be extremely powerful and would result in the card being a Rare at least. I made it so that you could activate only one effect since you cannot Special Summon a card in face-down defense position. If I combined all the effects into one effect, it would be too strong.

Thaynx so much for the suggestions and comments! ^_^

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but there are no cards that can Special Summon something else to your opponent's side of the field naturally. Some things like Lava Golem Special Summon themselves to your opponent as part of their unique summoning conditions, but for just a general Special Summon, you needn't mention it. If you look at cards like DAD, you'll see no mention of "to your field" on them.

The reason this would be improved by being a FLIP, is because if this were attacked while face-down with support, it's going to die, no questions asked. You get +2 summoned from your deck, but you also get -1 because the first Gooloo is almost certain to die, meaning overall it is a +1. At the moment, if you have a card that can Special Summon something during the opponent's turn (like a monster that allows you to special summon something when it is sent to the grave - I think Mother Bear is the WATER Attribute version), then Gooloo is an easy +3. So it's +1, which is fairly balanced, versus +3, which isn't, hence why making this card a FLIP would be much more balanced.

True, no cards are Summoned naturally to your opponent's field, but it's an OCG rule that you should always clarify whose field the card is summoned to. In the case of DAD, it doesn't specify which side of the field it should be summoned to because it is explaining how the card is Special Summoned. (When you have 3 DARK monsters in your Graveyard.) In the case of the majority of cards that are Special Summoned, it is specified which side of the field it is summoned to.

Never mind. =P

I just looked at some of my newer Yugioh cards and found out that, in fact, the newer card do not specify which side of the field they are to be summoned. With the older cards, you had to specify. I'm just used to the older OCG.

If it were a FLIP monster and it was attacked and destroyed, that's either a +2 or +1, depending how many monsters your opponent controls. If your opponent doesn't attack however and you flip the card during your turn, not only is it an easy +2 so you can easily summon a powerful monster, but your Gooloo that was flipped gain 1000 ATK. That's a very powerful combo! The way I wrote the effect, you can basically only activate 1 or the other, making the card much more balanced than if it was a FLIP monster as you suggest. If I made it a FLIP, it would be too OP'd IMHO.

1st card:

If this card is Special Summoned to your side of the field field, Special Summon up to 2 "Gooloo" from your hand or Deck to your field. If this card was Flip Summoned, increase this card's ATK by 1000.

2nd card:

You can Tribute Summon this card with 3 tributes. If this card was Summoned by tributing 3 "Gooloo" on your field, increase this card's ATK by 1000. Everytime this card attacks, destroy 1 monster on your side of the field or decrease this card's ATK by 500 at the end of the Damage Step.

IDK i think those are right...

I have been told that it is wrong. I thought that it was like that forever until I was told otherwise.

@ X-31: Ooh, yeah, I need to change that. Glad you caught it!

Actually, I don't need to change it. Gooloo can only Special Summon 2 "Gooloo." Otherwise, I would specify "monsters with 'gooloo' in their card names.

I see' date=' you going to put up another card here soon?

[/quote']

I don't think so. I'll start work soon on a Gooloo set and won't post any more cards until it's finished. This thread was just to see the public's reaction to the main idea of the deck.

I'm glad you're eager to see more though! ^_^
