Flinsbon
Explain what you believe to be the definitions of "good" and "bad." Then I will be able to answer the question after a good amount of thought.

OMGAKITTY
"Good" and "Bad" are completely relative terms that depend on the society you live in, as well as your personal beliefs. Good => Bad. Yes. All the time.See: The Crusades Bad => Good. Yes.See: Hiroshima and Nagasaki
The Dark One
The problem with the concepts of good and bad is the fact that they are inherently circularly defined. What is good? Something that is better than bad. What is bad? Something that isn't good. The terms are defined differently from culture to culture, though generally a basic code of morality has been maintained throughout human history. Yes, it is very possible for an action that is defined by one society's moral code to result in what is considered a positive consequence by another society's measure of good and bad, or even that same society's measure of the terms, on occasion. Prime example: Abortions. They have highly demonstrable positive effects on society. Really, more people SHOULD get abortions, if all that mattered was this society's concept of the progression of the human race. However, some (many) people consider abortion to be a rather large violation of their moral code. Thus, "good" things are happening because of a "bad" event. Guest JoshIcy
Pointless Topic. And not a debate unless the definition of good and bad are a finite. Which they aren't.
