Bio Heros (First Set)

Here is my first set. There are some more to come, but this is it for now.

 

MONSTERS

 

"Bio Hero - Bones"

Dark/ Warrior/ Level 6

ATK 2400/ DEF 2400

Effect: During battle between this attacking card and a Defense Position monster whose DEF is lower than the ATK of this card, inflict the difference as Battle Damage to your opponent. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, special summon 2 "Bone Tokens" (Warrior-Type/DARK/LV 3/ATK 1200/DEF 1200) in attack position.

 

 

"Bio Hero - Dermis"

Dark/ Warrior/ Level 3

ATK 500/ DEF 2100

Effect: As long as this card remains face-up on your side of the field, your opponent cannot select another "Bio Hero" monster on your side of the field as an attack target.

 

 

"Bio Hero - Hair Ball"

Dark/ Warrior/ Level 1

ATK 600/ DEF 600

Effect: When this card is destroyed by battle, you can Special Summon as many "Bio Hero - Hair Ball" monsters from your Deck to the field as possible. A monster that attacks this card loses 600 ATK and DEF.

 

 

"Bio Hero - Kid Nii"

Dark/ Warrior/ Level 3

ATK 1500/ DEF 1200

Effect: You can send this card from your side of the field to your Deck to Special Summon 1 LV 4 or lower "Bio Hero" monster from your Deck to the field. When a monster Special Summoned by this effect is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, Special Summon this card from your Deck or hand.

 

 

"Bio Hero - Los Dientes"

Dark/ Warrior/ Level 3

ATK 1800/ DEF 1200

Effect: If this card destroyed your opponent's monster as a result of battle, it can attack once again in a row.

 

 

"Bio Hero - Muco"

Dark/ Warrior/ Level 4

ATK 1900/ DEF 1200

Effect: Any monster this card destroys by battle is removed from play.

 

 

"Bio Hero - Muscle"

Dark/ Warrior/ Level 5

ATK 2200/ DEF 1200

Effect: Whenever this card attacks, it gains 300 ATK.

 

"Bio Hero - Opticus"

Dark/ Warrior/ Level 2

ATK 1000/ DEF 1000

Effect: Once per turn, you can select 1 card in your opponents hand and look at it. During your Main Phase, you can tribute this card to send 1 card from your opponents hand to the Graveyard.

 

 

"Bio Hero - The Brain"

Dark/ Warrior/ Level 3

ATK 100/ DEF 2000

Effect: Once per turn, during your Main Phase, while this card is face-up on your side of the field, you can return 1 "Bio Hero" monster from your Graveyard to your Deck to Special Summon 1 "Bio Hero" monster from your hand.

 

 

"Miracle Surgeon"

Dark/ Warrior/ Level 3

ATK 1200/ DEF 1200

Effect: When this card is destroyed as a result of battle and sent to the Graveyard, Special Summon 1 "Bio Hero" monster from your Deck to the field.

 

 

SPELLS

 

"Bio Repair"

Normal Spell

Effect: Send one "Bio Hero" monster from your hand to the Graveyard. Return 2 cards in your Graveyard to your Deck.

 

 

"Bio Selection"

Normal Spell

Effect: Return 1 "Bio Hero" monster from your hand to your Deck. Draw 2 cards.

 

 

"Hospital"

Field Spell

Effect: When a ''Bio Hero'' monster attacks, if its ATK is lower than the ATK of the attack target, the attack monster gains 1000 ATK during damage calculation only.

 

 

"Super Vitamin"

Normal Spell

Effect: Select 1 "Bio Hero" monster on your side of the field. Increase your Life Points by half the selected monster's original ATK.

 

 

"Vaccination"

Equip Spell

Effect: A Monster equipped with this card is unaffected by Spell or Trap Cards.

 

 

TRAPS

 

"Bio Transplant"

Normal Trap

Effect: Send the top card from your Deck to the Graveyard. Return one card from your Graveyard to the Deck.

 

 

"Donor"

Continuous Trap

Effect: Once per turn, during the End Phase of a turn a "Bio Hero" monster was destroyed, Special Summon 1 "Bio Hero" monster from your hand.

 

 

"Immunity!"

Counter Trap

Effect: Tribute 1 "Bio Hero" monster. Negate the activation of a Spell or Trap Card, or the Normal or Special Summon of a monster, and destroy that card.

 

 

"Organ Supply"

Normal Trap

Effect: Return all "Bio Hero" monsters from your Graveyard to your Deck. Gain Life Points equal to the combined Level of the returned monsters x 100.

I don't see any synergy between the cards.

There is no theme. These are only cards named after body parts with "Hero" stuck on it to give the cool feel.

 

Now, don't start me with "no" synergy. I bet you wrote this after you watched a several hundred of episodes of YGO GX, and you'll be like "But Elemental Heroes didn't have synergy in their effects, and they win ALL the time!"

If this is the case, you're doing it wrong.

 

First of all, there is NO way that people can think that these are linked to body parts. Perhaps some of their effects do, but DARK Warrior-Types that are supposed to be organs? DARK? I could accept Warrior-Type because you decided to make them heroes and be Jaden, but DARK?!?!?

That kills the bond to the card's stats and theme.

 

And then, the effects in the archetype doesn't even support each other much, except some, which were built to support. For example, most Blackwings can be Special Summoned when there is another Blackwing on the field. Gladiator Beasts f***ing summon each other instantly. Lightsworns mill each other to get more of them to the Graveyard so that they can summon their trump and nuke the field! But with you, one does piercing damage and summons two tokens, one protects the others, one swarms and decreases ATK, one attacks twice. No synergy.

And that kills the synergy and mutual support of the effects.

 

You started on the right track, but now you're going off the course.

 

If you don't want synergy between every card, don't create an archetype. Create separate cards and pull them togehter in one thread.
